Chapter 75: Seventy-four

[Ding!]

Both the leopard’s and Jeriel’s eyes widened when they heard a name by the end of Jannah’s sentence. At the same time, the familiar sound of the notification chime echoed in the back of Jannah’s head.

[Would you like to give the name, Eira, to your companion?]

[YES] [NO]

Jannah chose the agreed option, raising her hand in the air to press the option.

[Ding!]

[Name successfully imprinted to your companion! Companion status now available for Eira.]

[Companion Status:

Name: Eira (Level 5)

Health: 80/80

EXP: 45/100

Skill: Icy Spikes

Buff: Feline Fury ]

"I didn’t expect that." Jannah commented, her eyes roaming the texts of the companion status, "Eira has a skill and a buff, but I’m not sure what it does."

Blinking her shock away, Jeriel cleared her throat, glancing at the leopard beside her, "Eira.. Eira has a skill? Like you?"

"It seems so." Jannah agreed, "She also needs to level up since she’s currently level five."

"How does she level up? But for now, let’s go." Jeriel raises an eyebrow, walking around the bed to go to the door, "Let’s discuss that new status thing later. Dante and Kean need urgent medical attention from my sister."

Jannah closed the status window and nodded her head, "Right. Let’s go."

Jeriel opened the door, balancing the bowl and glass on her right hand while she’s holding the door open with her left hand. Eira walked out first, strutting out of the room, her head held high up in the air with an obvious prideful stance. She looked at Jeriel, swatting her leg using her tail.

"I get it." Jeriel grumbled and glared at the leopard playfully, "You received a name from her. Doesn’t mean you’re above me, alright? I’ll always be my sister’s number one."

"Meoraw." Eira let out a gruff mew before she let out a chuff, seemingly offended by Jeriel’s words.

"In your dreams." The white haired Rafelon scoffed, rolling her eyes at the mother leopard and released the door from her grip when Jannah walked out of the room, waddling her way out of the door.

"What are you two talking about?" Jannah asked, her eyes flickering between Eira and Jeriel.

"Something that you shouldn’t worry about." Jeriel was quick to dismiss her big sister’s curiosity, not wanting to let Jannah know that she’s arguing with a leopard in terms of their position in her love list. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

With that said, the three of them walked down the hall. Jeriel and Eira hold themselves back from walking too fast to wait for Jannah.

The Countess was walking slowly, her legs still not used to moving after being unconscious for a couple of days and not getting the stretch they needed. Her footsteps are light, but slow, careful not to trip on her feet.

It took them almost half an hour due to their slow pace to make them reach the room where Dante and Kean were sleeping. Eira and Jeriel looked so done with Jannah, but they didn’t let their expressions shift to what they’re feeling.

Jeriel opened the door, the hinges crying out in protest and Jannah made a mental note to tell Marco to take care of those rusty screws before she stepped inside, still with the same pace she had while on their way to their room.

As soon as Jannah walked inside, her eyes landed on Dante and Kean.

She looked over the two injured knights lying in the bed, their bodies battered and brushed, but haphazardly covered in bandages, their clothes ripped and ragged. Their faces were pale, their eyes closed and their breathing weak, laboured, and shallow.

They were heavily injured, that much was obvious, but they were alive still.

"I’ll put this in the kitchen. Do what you have to do." Jeriel spoke up, snapping Jannah from her observation of the injured knights.

Jannah looked away from them for a moment to look at Jeriel, "Come back as soon as you can."

Jeriel nodded her head, "I will."

Jannah watched her little sister walk out of the room, closing the door behind her with a soft click resonating in the room. She let out a sigh, turning her attention back to Dante and Kean, walking towards their bed.

She stood beside their bed, crossing her arms, and going back to inspect the state of the two unconscious men.

Now that she’s closer to them, she could see the wounds on the knights were gruesome, their bodies marked by deep, red cuts and severe bruising, purple and blue littering their skins, the bandages barely them.

"Heavily injured indeed." Jannah repeated what Jeriel had said to her, the tone of her voice almost mocking.

The Countess could see the pain in their expressions, their faces twisted with agony. Sighing weakly, she crouched down, kneeling on one knee beside Dante.

She placed her hands on Dante’s chest, her touch gentle and light, being careful not to press too hard just in case he has a wound there.

Salvation. Casting the skill without speaking, she felt the familiar sensation she felt last time, that feeling began to flow from her torso to her hands. It was a power that had never failed her before, and she knew that it would work now.

She squinted her eyes, humming softly as she directed her eyes. A soft, soothing red light emanated from her hand— the light gradually spread from the tip of her fingers to the unconscious man in front of her.

The soft red light touched Dante’s wounds, slowly but surely, the cuts and wounds on the knight’s body healed and the injured disappeared, the skin stitching itself back together.

The bruises and discoloration that had weighed on the knight’s skin faded away, replaced by its normal color.

The oldest Rafelon watched as the red light worked its magic on the previously heavily injured knight, a feeling of satisfaction and pride settling in her chest.

She could see the healthiness returning to his body, his breathing becoming steady and strong once more.

Right then and there, Jannah knew that her healing had worked once more, and that the knight was now restored to full health.

Huffing out in satisfaction, she stood up from her kneeling position, watching as the last of the red light faded away, leaving Dante looking stronger and healthier than before.

She pulled her arm back, putting it to her side and walked to the other side of the bed, to heal an unconscious Kean.

As she placed her hand on the knight’s wound, the same healing red light began to spread through the wounded area. The Countess concentrated her skill’s energy, all her attention focused on restoring the knight’s healthy glow.

The skill [Salvation] worked its magic once more, sealing the wound and erasing any signs of injury. Jannah continued to hold her hand on the knight’s chest, channeling the healing power until the knight was completely healed.

While Jananh was busy healing Kean, her little sister walked into the room, carrying another glass of water.

The sight of Jannah healing the knight’s wounds was unexpected, and Jeriel paused in curiosity, letting the door close behind her.

She watched as the red light coursed through the knight, the wounds healing before her eyes. The oldest Rafelon felt her sister’s presence, but she didn’t lose focus, her healing skill remaining steady and focused.

Jeriel watched, wide-eyed, bewildered and amazed, as the knight’s injuries disappeared, replaced by healthy, uninjured skin.

"Have I told you that you’re amazing?" Jeriel said, walking towards the bed, her voice dripping with amazement and admiration, her eyes still glued to the soft red light all over Jannah’s hand.

"Yes." Jannah answered, her focus momentarily torn, before she finally finished healing the knight, the last of the healing light fading away.

She straightened up, her body feeling a little tired from the kneeling position so she stood up, stretching her limbs, and groaning in satisfaction once she felt better.

"I’m done with them. They will wake up tomorrow or the next day because the exchange of healing is their remaining energy. If they wake up now, they will feel tired. " Jannah stated as she looked down at the knights, who were now completely healed and looked healthy, just like before they arrived in Philipia.

Jannah couldn’t help, but feel the feeling of satisfaction, knowing that her power had brought the knights back to health. At that moment, the Countess’s little sister bent down to Dante, her curiosity piqued by what had just happened.

Jeriel wordlessly took off the bandages around the knight’s arms, exposing Dante’s toned muscles underneath the cover; she hummed, seeing no bruises or cut.

"You’re really amazing." Jeriel said once more, her hand hovering over to the knight’s bandage around his abdomen, quickly untying it to check the stab wound underneath, although she knows that it’s probably healed.

As Jeriel was untying the bandage, Jannah did the same to Kean, she untied the bandages around his arms, legs, torso, and abdomen.

They simultaneously dropped the bandages on the floor, the dirty, tattered, bloody strap revealed a fully healed and healthy skin, the complexion of the knights looked better than they were before, the remnants of the stress that the outbreak had given them nowhere to be seen.

Unbeknownst to them, someone had walked in on them, just in time for them to open the shirts of the knights to check the state of the stab wounds.

"Countess? Lady Jeriel?"

The sisters froze, their hands freezing in mid-air while undressing the knights as they looked at the person who called them.
