Chapter 90: Eighty-nine

[Reward for the side mission (Drafting lodging house) sent to Player Jannah’s inbox!]

The familiar sound of the notification echoed in the back of Jannah’s mind, making her press the side of head and open the inbox to check out what she received from the side mission.

As usual, she chose the receive option of the question box that appears in front of her face whenever she receives her rewards from missions.

[Ding!]

The sound of the system’s notification went off.

[You have received a transportable landmark.]

Landmark? Isn’t that an intermediate point on a route or line of travel? Jannah thought, her eyebrows furrowed.

Huffing, Jannah looked away from the system for a moment and looked at her people, only to see that they were all standing still, waiting for her to finish whatever she was doing which made her blink owlishly.

Jannah cleared her throat and shuffled on her spot, "I have no idea why all of you are watching me, but I’ll give you something to work on while I do something urgent."

"Understood, my lady." Lucienta said on behalf of the people around her and nodded her head.

"Arthur will create the walls of the houses— you better start practicing, Arthur— while Polo and Jeremiah work on the roof. Lucienta, go and fetch the construction workers of this town and ask them to help with the roofings." Jannah started pointing at the individual whom she had given a specific role.

"Duke Zacharias, help Arthur with his skill. Princess Huenazia, read the blueprints of each structure that needs to be built. Kirie, help the princess and share your thoughts with her." Jannah said, giving the three people who looked like they were kicked.

"Jeriel.. Uhh, you go and stand by the watchtower." She pointed at the wooden tower by the gates, unable to think of what her little sister could do to help.

Jeriel shot her a ’are you serious?’ look, but didn’t say anything and begrudgingly walked towards the tower.

Jannah didn’t wait for anyone to ask questions and immediately walked briskly towards the blacksmith shop, which was near the spot where all of them are working, and slipped inside.

She locked the door, ensuring her privacy before she walked over to the chair behind the desk.

[ Landmarks:

Landmarks, also known as teleport points, enable fast travel to different locations with teleportation structures that players can find, interact with, and unlock throughout the world of Ersthan. When a player first unlocks a landmark, they are granted an experience point of five.

Players can unlock landmarks by interacting with Spheres of the Heroin or by exploring the map and discovering them. ]

What the hell does teleportation mean? Spheres of the Heroin? What does the Statue of Tranquility have to do with this system? Jannah’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion, a puzzled expression on her face as questions after questions popped up in her head.

Sphere of the Heroin is the weapon of the first ruler of the continent— Arcazian Lefuel Del Amantarez.

The ruler in question was a fearsome figure, known for her brilliance and bravery, her undeniable and admirable feat that was passed down from generation to generation in the two kingdoms of the continent.

When she first came to power, the land was in a constant state of chaos and agony, each faction fighting fiercely for control in each land. However, the ruler managed to bring an end to all of the conflict by wielding a weapon of a strange power.

She held a sphere that could bring peace where none had been found before. This incredible weapon helped to bring a sense of order to the dark and gloomy lands, making her a beloved and revered leader. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

The ruler was able to use her power to bring peace to the land and establish a time of prosperity.

The people had built a statue to remember her, make people think of her actions and decisions that changed the fate of humanity, and this statue was named as the..

Statue of Tranquility.

With the first ruler of the land getting recognized, the main lands or large territory all over the continent has a Statue of Tranquility with Queen Arcazian holding a sphere to commemorate her ability to bring peace all across the land.

Now, just because historians said that the first Queen of all lands said that she had a sphere as a weapon to bring peace, doesn’t mean it’s actually true.

Jannah had always been a firm believer of the first Queen shedding blood in every single battle to establish peace.

Sighing weakly, Jannah continued to read the description of the system’s new feature, waypoint, and proceeded to push back the questions lingering in the back of her mind.

[ Types of Landmark:

Teleport Landmark: These are the standard fixed waypoints found throughout the continent and can be seen on the map.

Statue of Tranquility: These are the landmarks shaped using the first Queen’s sphere and the players unlocking them grants access to fast travel in their desired destination.

Zone: Zone, including underground ones, can also be used as landmarks after being unlocked.

Transportable Landmark: A pocket-sized sphere that creates a temporary Teleport Landmark.

It allows the player to create a temporary teleport landmark in their current location that lasts for 168 hours which can also be used by any member of the player’s party.

Selecting a Teleport Landmark on the Map allows the player to fast travel to their location.

The location of the Teleport Landmark on the map usually shows the area it is a part of, unless, the player have not locked a certain Teleport Landmark. ]

Jannah’s eyes went from left to right as she read the information of the new feature, her finger hovering over on the item she received as a reward from a mission inside of her inventory.

Teleport.. So, I don’t have to use horses or carriages to go from one location to another? Jannah thought, her eyes squinting as she comprehends the information given to her.

She opened the map and it was fast to materialize to her left, making her turn to it.

She scanned the map for any changes, but didn’t see the landmarks the system was talking about which made a crease appear in her eyebrows.

"Where’s the landmark?" She asked no one in particular, searching for the said feature.

However, no matter how much she looks for it, all she can see is blue dots walking around the town with a few red dots outside the town’s gate. It’s just colored dots that move around occasionally to go to their desired destination.

Did the system trick her?

She narrowed her eyes as she glanced at the text about the landmarks, uncertainty and confusion washed over her like a wave. Surely, the system wouldn’t do that, right?

It helped her several times and given her advantages, she couldn’t possibly be fooled this far of obeying and finishing the system’s tasks, right?

As if to assure her and flush her worries down the ground, a notification had popped up and materialized before her eyes.

[Ding!]

[Teleport Landmark will appear in the player’s map once they have unlocked the teleport Landmark feature.]

Jannah cocked her head to the side, not fully understanding what the system was trying to say.

She got a transportable landmark, but has not unlocked the teleport landmark feature of the map yet? If so, how would she be able to use the transportable landmark? Did the system have an error?

Ah, whatever.. Teleport landmark.. I will find out more about it once I unlock it. She told herself, reassuring and pushing the questions away as she let out a sigh, shaking her head.

She closed the map and opened the inventory, her eyes searching the empty slots for the sphere.

When she saw it, she looked at her hand and thought about the sphere appearing in her hand so she could bring it out of the inventory.

Almost immediately, the sphere appeared in her hand, a smooth ball floating gently within her grasp, its smooth surface glinting in the light.

It was warm to the touch, a soft energy seemed to emanate from it, the surface of the sphere was a deep, swirling purple color that seemed like it looked like black, the substance similar to a liquid within shifting and twisting like a living thing.

Jannah watched the liquid inside the sphere shift, a particular shine can be seen when she focuses her sight on the particles within the sphere.

Despite its size, the weight of the sphere in her hand was almost nonexistent, as if it was floating on air.

Jannah stared at it, her eyes inspecting the strange item in her hand as she wondered, but as much as it was strange for her, the sphere feels warm and comforting to the touch, as if it was an extension of her own energy.

This is a transportable landmark? She thought, with an obvious look of doubt on her face as she questioned the item’s ability, observing its smooth and glinting surface.

Jannah couldn’t help, but be confused and disappointed.

She was expecting something new from the system and it literally told her that she has not unlocked it.

She placed the sphere back to her inventory and stood up, exiting the blacksmith shop with a frown and a gloomy atmosphere surrounding her.

Seeing Jannah’s frown, her people could only wonder what could be the cause.
