"You will die by my hand!" the woman declared.

She raised her magic staff, summoning three magic circles with black runes above her head.

The lich mage went silent. For her, it was easier to fight people with nature affinities like water and earth. But darkness affinity was as complex and troublesome as light affinity.

Agares grinned. He jumped high into the sky to fight her directly up close. The lich mage gasped, not expecting Agares to be so reckless.

She attacked him with magic, hoping at least one of her spells would hit. But the man slashed through every magical attack that came his way.

The woman floated her staff in front of her. Both her hands quickly formed a hand sign as a thick aura of dark lich energy wrapped the area around her.

Agares landed on the ground. He and Aoi looked up and saw a large black sphere forming around the lich mage. Aoi could feel a threatening sensation coming from within the black orb.

"For some reason, I sense danger coming from that black sphere."

"What kind?" Agares asked quickly.

"Like a monster with higher power."

The man fell silent. He had already wounded the lich mage and saw her total HP in the upper-right corner of his vision panel—she had 3000 HP, with the name Mystic Ruinbound.

"The previous monster was Veil Ruinbound, level 6. I’m guessing the woman in front of us is level 7."

"No!" Aoi confirmed with her natural instinct.

"No?"

"Her level is higher than what you’re guessing."

Cracks appeared on the dark black energy sphere. A thick black monster hand burst out roughly, tearing through the sphere from the inside.

Within seconds, the sphere broke apart, revealing a terrifying figure.

The beautiful woman in a black dress was gone. What stood before Agares now was a two-meter tall muscular monster with a body full of spikes, sharp teeth stretching from ear to ear, solid red eyes with no pupils, and claws ready to grab something.

"What ... happened?"

"I will make you die slowly, Human!" it roared. The monster’s voice was heavy and echoed throughout the room.

Agares got into his fighting stance, ready to battle the monster. But as he was about to jump again, he was startled to see the monster already right in front of him.

A projection of a red moon and the shadow of a dark god appeared behind Agares. Since his third skill level had increased, the power and buffs also improved.

Even though his dark energy had been condensed, the red moon projection still remained behind him.

He swung his sword in a thrusting move, launching the giant sword toward the black monster.

For the second move at level two, Agares clenched his fist, destroying the red moon projection and turning it into thousands of meteors.

He pointed his hand downward, delivering a second strike to the monster.

That’s right! Level two of his third skill involved a giant sword and moon destruction.

The black monster tried desperately to stop the giant purple sword, but failed. Its body was driven downward, crashing into the ground, the sword’s tip stabbing its body forcefully.

He swung his hand sideways, clearing the smoke that surrounded the area where the lich mage had died.

After being defeated, she returned to her original form—a lich woman in a beautiful black dress.
