The Days of Being the Richest Man in the Ninja World-Chapter 320. Encounter
Chapter 320 - 320. Encounter
Chapter 320. Encounter
---
That night—
A chuunibyo teenager quietly left Iwagakure, stepping onto the path he believed was meant for a protagonist.
That same night—
All of Iwagakure was shaken, continuously sending out ninja to investigate. It was said the Third Tsuchikage clutched his chest in anger, shouting, "This kid! Couldn't even take a few words?!"
Also, on that night—
The whole internet found out Iwagakure had produced a teenager addicted to the internet. After just a few words from his teacher, the Third Tsuchikage, he defected from the village. Many sighed and said, "This guy's done for! Might as well train a new one!"
...
Meanwhile—
Ever since the "no-cost business" dried up, Kakuzu's life had become stingy and tight. He didn't even dare buy a second cup of half-price milk tea.
He had originally spent a fortune modifying a car, planning to show off at the Ninja Grand Prix. But unexpectedly... he suddenly remembered he'd left the gas on at home—what a disaster that would be!
So, for the safety of his house, he decisively withdrew from the race, missing out on the championship.
Thankfully, nothing happened to his home. Kakuzu was still pretty pleased. On that day, he even chopped down the tree in front of his house, did a little landscaping, and felt a lot better afterward.
Of course—
He still watched the final race.
In the end, Biwa Juzo won with a flaming car.
It's truly not easy~
Kakuzu knew: compared to himself—whose income had plummeted—Biwa Juzo hadn't been doing great either. After failing to capture a bounty worth a billion, he had to flee to the Land of Rain to escape pursuit from both Kirigakure and Konoha. Unexpectedly... he was caught in the Land of Rain and spent several years in prison before being released.
Although Kakuzu found it strange that a ninja could actually get released after being caught, all in all, the guy had just gotten out and wasn't really familiar with the changes in the Ninja World yet—plus, he was still mooching off others.
Life is hard~
So, seeing Biwa Juzo take the championship was actually a bit heartwarming for him.
Unfortunately—
The contract he snatched from the Hyuga clan back in the day had expired. Danzo stocks crashed and burned, and Kakuzu himself didn't even get a single scrap out of it. If only he'd gone all-in and chopped the guy's head off back then.
It was said that Danzo had struck it rich recently outside the village, returned to Konoha, and even reassembled Root Studio.
During the racing event, the Third Hokage had even done a promo for Root Studio.
Now, the new movie [Konoha Partners] was a huge hit.
"Hey, everyone else is getting rich!" Kakuzu sighed. "Why am I the only one going backward?!"
Now he was so broke he had to sell off his racing car.
He found a buyer, but since it was second-hand, the value tanked. Even though he had only driven it a few times, he still got severely lowballed. They even said, "A car with no rank is worthless." In the end, when words failed, he had to talk with his blade.
And then—
The boss became very generous, not only giving the original price back but even adding a bonus.
There are still kind people in the world.
Kakuzu drank the last sip of his milk tea, then buried his head in the internet, looking for money-making gigs.
Since getting online, there were still some leads here and there. But no-cost businesses were getting rarer. Most were things like finding lost items, odd jobs, or power-leveling games.
It was kind of like when he first became a ninja.
Except—
There were fewer missions, and tons of rogue ninjas were scrambling for the same work, so sometimes he couldn't get even a single one.
Just like now...
Kakuzu sighed, put his phone away, and muttered, "I still have to figure out some no-cost business!"
Just as he finished speaking—
Suddenly—
He spotted a sneaky figure rustling in the bushes nearby. Kakuzu froze briefly, then gave a cold, mocking smirk.
Someone actually had the guts to try a no-cost business on him, Kakuzu-sama?
Looks like dinner's sorted tonight.
Expressionless and still, he stepped forward lightly—then suddenly, his figure flickered and vanished from sight.
"Damn it! Where did that guy go?" A small blonde brat jumped out, cursing, "He was a ninja?! Damn it! My art wasn't even ready yet!"
He had clearly scouted this target for a while.
Single, no friends, looked broke!
This kind of guy clearly had no skills. Even if he got bullied, no one would care. Who'd have thought... he was actually a ninja?!
Have ninjas really fallen this far?
Just as he said that—
Suddenly, he felt his shoulder tighten, like something had grabbed him.
He jerked his head around—
And saw the very target he'd just marked.
"A little brat?" Kakuzu grunted, looking at the blonde kid in front of him. Judging by the age... hadn't even graduated from the Ninja Academy yet!
You actually dare to come out and run a no-cost business?
A sinister grin appeared. "Take out all of your money, now!"
But once you've chosen this line of work, you've accepted the fate of being robbed!
Countless black lines spread from his body.
However—
After a while...
Kakuzu sighed in disappointment. "Still just a broke kid, huh!"
Looking at the furious boy, he waved his hand. "Forget it! I haven't done no-capital business in ages. I'll let you off today, kid! Now get lost!"
With that—
He turned and walked away.
"Damn it!" Deidara looked furiously at the man who had just looked down on him. "I'm not just some nobody!" He pulled out a sword from his ninja pouch. "See this? This is the Second Hokage's limited edition Flying Thunder God Sword! How am I a broke kid?"
"That's kid stuff! You better go back home! Being a ninja isn't some game for children!"
"I will become someone amazing!" Deidara followed after him, staring at Kakuzu. "Lend me some money! I'll pay you back a hundred times when the time comes!"
"Really now? Trying to scam me? Get out of here!"
"I'll use the Flying Thunder God Sword as collateral! I also have a Ninja World Online game account charged with hundreds of thousands of ryo. You can play it too!"
"Scram!"
"I'm starving! Can you lend me some money?"
His dream hadn't even begun. His art hadn't yet been praised by the world. Was he really going to starve to death?
Deidara accepted reality.
He lowered his head.
And Kakuzu...
Just stared at the little brat in front of him, speechless. "Go home to your parents!"
"I don't have any parents! Only... sigh~" Deidara let out a long, disappointed sigh. "Forget it!"
His dream...
He turned around to leave—
Kakuzu looked at that lonely little figure, frowned slightly, thinking of Juzo and himself, the life they'd lived after defecting from the village...
But back then, they were already grown.
This kid in front of him... was still just a kid.
After a moment of hesitation, "Follow me! If you eat my food, you will become my tool!"
This was the Ninja World!
There's no such thing as kindness!
He just needed a tool, that's all.
With that—
Deidara froze, then felt his stomach rumble and happily followed after him, shouting, "Yes! But I want grilled barbecue from Yuto BBQ!"
"No."
"Then at least some roasted meat. That's not asking too much!"

"No."
"Bread, then?"
"Still no."
"Damn it! You broke old man, what do you eat?"
