The Demon King is an Idiot [BL]-Chapter 109: A rumored egg
Fearing that Quan Mu may be harmed by the orthodox cultivators, Xue Lan ran away with the man and his reputation quickly went down.
He was an accomplice who had helped a high-ranking demon escape so of course, he could not be easily forgiven nor could his actions be righteously explained.
Many quickly found out that Xue Lan had a very intimate relationship with the demon and hence, even the ones who used to once praise Xue Lan, started to spit curses at the mention of his name.
Xue Lan and Quan Mu were hunted down by the righteous cultivators who wanted to take the opportunity to kill Quan Mu.
There were many strong cultivators present and Quan Mu knew that killing them would only worsen the situation. He didn’t want to make things harder for Xue Lan and hence, he thought about solving the situation without having to resort to violence.
However, the cultivators who wanted to kill him certainly did not share the same thoughts. They attacked him without holding back and Quan Mu desperately tried to dodge all their attacks without harming them.
In the end, it seemed quite impossible for Quan Mu to escape without harming anyone and so, he decided to give up. He felt that it was better for him to die like this. He thought that he could at least save Xue Lan by dying under the sword of these righteous cultivators.
However, who could have guessed that in a desperate attempt to save the demon, Xue Lan had revealed his long-kept secret...
In a fit of rage, Xue Lan killed a few of those cultivators who tried to kill Quan Mu, and once again, he ran away with Quan Mu.
The rumors spread fast and it didn’t take long for everyone to know that Xue Lan was actually a half-demon.
His reputation was completely tarnished and even the people that he had helped and saved, now felt extremely disgusted by the fact that they had once been thankful to him.
After that, Xue Lan and Quan Mu seemed to have disappeared. Some said that they were hiding in the mortal realm while some believed that they had run off to the demon realm to seek refuge.
Two years later, Xue Lan got the news that his old teacher had died due to Qi deviation and with a heart filled with grief, Xue Lan visited the old man’s grave, completely unaware of the fact that it had been a trap.
His old teacher had purposefully lured him in and that day, fifty cultivators came together and killed Xue Lan.
Three days after his death, Quan Mu came looking for Xue Lan who had failed to return home. As soon as he learned of Xue Lan’s death, he was overcome with grief and anger.
Quan Mu hunted down, tortured, and killed all the fifty cultivators that came together to murder Xue Lan. However, it was still not enough. He was still grieving over the death of his lover and his heart still ached.
He thought he would feel better after avenging Xue Lan but in reality, he felt even worse since he knew that Xue Lan could not be brought back by their deaths.
In the end, Quan Mu couldn’t take it anymore and it was believed that he personally went to the demon king and asked to be killed in order to be reunited with his lover in the next life.
That was the end of their famous and tragic love story.
The book didn’t seem to be that useful since it contained no information about the cultivation records that Xue Lan had created. Not only that, it didn’t even reveal the real name of the demon who called himself Quan Mu.
Overall, it felt as if Jie Fu Lian had just read a book that was made for enjoyment and to pass time.
However, Jie Fu Lian still found something worth his interest in the book.
Although it was never confirmed, the author of this book dedicated a few pages speculating that Xue Lan had a child who had been hidden away and later, abandoned due to Xue Lan and Quan Mu’s death.
The interesting part was the fact that the two were men and biologically, it was impossible for them to have a child together However, the demon king, who had a good relationship with Quan Mu, had once given the young couple a special pill as a gift.
The pill was one of a kind and made it possible for the two to have a child together, but of course, the process was not one that could be labeled as simple.
It was believed that the pill allowed Xue Lan to give birth to an egg. The time taken for the egg to hatch was never specified anywhere but it was certain that it would take at least a few hundred years, perhaps even a thousand, for the incubation of the egg.
Since Xue Lan and Quan Mu had died so young, many believed that the rumored egg had been abandoned and the child inside, died without ever seeing the light of day.
Jie Fu Lian couldn’t help but feel a little curious as to why the author had mentioned the existence of such an egg when there was no proof or evidence that supported the theory.
Every belief had an origin and he wanted to know what the origin of this bizarre story was. However, since he had no idea who had written this book, he was helpless and could only ask questions without getting answers.
There was also another interesting section in the book that mentioned the close relationship between Shen Fang and Quan Mu.
According to some sources, Quan Mu was Shen Fang’s most-trusted subordinate and was the only one who could make the demon king angry without having to fear for his life.
Since Jie Fu Lian was now inside the body of the demon king, he wanted to go out and ask his subordinates about Quan Mu, but he felt that it would probably not be a good idea since it could arise suspicion.
The name ’Quan Mu’ was a fake name and if Jie Fu Lian used that name to ask any questions, people would immediately start to question why he hadn’t used the real name of his once most-trusted subordinate.
For the time being, Jie Fu Lian wanted to continue living on as the demon king and so, he stopped himself from mentioning the name ’Quan Mu’ and asking about him.
Now that Jie Fu Lian was done reading the book, he closed it and kept it back in his spatial ring.
With his arms spread out, he lay down on the bed, looking up at the ceiling with a subtle expression of sadness visible on his face.
He hated to admit it but he missed Hua Tianshu.
Now that he was finally aware of his own feelings and decided to accept them, it became even clearer that he was absolutely in love with the man and wanted to stay by his side at all costs, even if it meant lying to himself and pretending to be just friends.
Just like Quan Mu, he had also run away from his own feelings, but unlike Quan Mu, he hadn’t been confessed to, he had been rejected.
Jie Fu Lian felt a sense of pity for himself which almost made him laugh.
When he read about Xue Lan and Quan Mu’s love story, he felt that it resonated with his own situation a little. However, the two in the story had a happy ending whereas he was lying in bed alone, trying to bury his feelings deep in his heart. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
He wondered if there would come a day when he would no longer like Hua Tianshu. He wondered if there would be a day when he could also look at Hua Tianshu with a smile on his face and genuinely say that he liked the latter only as a friend.
When the Yan sect’s case was over, they could perhaps go on adventures together, solve crimes, take in a few disciples, and tame a few demonic beasts. Traveling around the mortal world like Xue Lan and Quan Mu also didn’t sound like a bad idea.
As Jie Fu Lian thought this, he unconsciously smiled, feeling satisfied with the future that he hoped for.
Just then, a sudden thought crossed Jie Fu Lian’s mind, ’What if Hua Tianshu fell in love with someone else?’
’What if he decided to travel the martial world with his beloved?’
Jie Fu Lian suddenly felt his heart clench in pain and fear.
As expected, it was impossible for him to be just friends with Hua Tianshu.
Since this was the case, should he take Quan Mu’s example and just disappear from Hua Tianshu’s life before it was too late?
In all honesty, he did consider it for a few seconds but soon dismissed the idea as he came to the conclusion that it would be more painful to cut all ties with Hua Tianshu.
He sighed as he closed his eyes and decided to take some rest.
