Three days passed in a flash.

In those three days, Jie Fu Lian managed to contact Kong Xun and enquired about the master of curses that he had already told Kong Xun to look into.

However, as expected, Kong Xun didn’t provide him any new information and told him that the only connection he found between the master of curses and Jin Shifeng was the fact that the man had killed one of Jin Shifeng’s previous attendants.

Except for this, there was another piece of information that Kong Xun managed to find. Although the master of curses didn’t seem to have any connection with either Jin Shifeng or Jin Long, he did seem to have had a connection with Jin Long’s father, Jin Gengxin.

According to the intel that Kong Xun had received, there was once a time when the master of curses was almost caught by another sect and was going to be executed for his sins, but Jin Gengxin intervened and helped the master of curses to escape. When questioned why he did so, he said that it was a mere coincidence and that he didn’t really mean to help him.

However, later on, it was speculated and reported by some that Jin Gengxin was purposefully hiding the master of curses inside the Jin Sect. The Jin Sect used its connections and power to soon shut down the rumors and completely hid the incident away.

As soon as Jie Fu Lian heard this, he was sure that the Jin sect had a deep connection with the master of curses and if there really was a powerful sect that was supporting the master of curses, it would most definitely be the Jin Sect.

Jie Fu Lian still wanted to believe that Jin Long wasn’t involved in any of this but at this point, he knew that the chances of that man being innocent were almost nonexistent. Jie Fu Lian was greatly disappointed but he still didn’t jump to a conclusion and wanted to wait and see how things would unfold.

If Jin Long really was guilty, Jie Fu Lian would not forgive him even if the man had certain circumstances that forced him to make such a decision.

As agreed, Sect Master Quan invited Jin Long over under the excuse of catching up to drink tea and strengthen the relationship between the two sects. Jin Long, who thought Hua Tianshu had forgiven him for suspecting them of thievery, immediately responded and thought that he would also take this chance to properly apologize once more.

When Jin Long reached the HuiXue sect, Jie Fu Lian reached the Jin Sect and Hua Tianshu went ahead and waited in the place where they had decided to keep the kidnapped Jin Shifeng.

Jin Shifeng came out to water the single flowering plant that was sitting in the middle of the plain ground. As known, this single flowering plant was over Yu Wei’s grave.

With a gentle smile on her face, Jin Shifeng picked up the little wolf cub and patted its head as she asked in a slightly higher pitch, "Where did you come from?"

The wolf cub tilted its head slightly and looked up at her with his lovely big eyes. Just a glance at that face made Jin Shifeng let her guard down completely.

Jie Fu Lian felt extremely bad for tricking her like this but he used his demonic Qi to knock her unconscious and easily kidnapped her.

When Jin Shifeng woke up, she did not see any wolf cub, instead, she saw the face of a rather handsome man whom she had never seen before.

Jin Shifeng could be fooled by a wolf cub but would not be fooled by a man. With a small frown on her face, she glared at the handsome man as she questioned, "Who are you?"

Jie Fu Lian smirked as he heard this question and teasingly spoke, "Why don’t you take a guess?"

Jin Shifeng did not look to be amused and her frown only deepened further.

Jie Fu Lian did not want to play alone so he gave up and spoke with a laugh, "I’ll give you a guess. I am the only one in this world who would dare to kidnap you."

"You’re the demon king...?" Jin Shifeng immediately asked as she guessed and Jie Fu Lian felt a little dumbfounded for having been found out so soon.

"How did you know?" Jie Fu Lian asked with a small frown.

This time, it was Jin Shifeng who was smirking as she spoke, "The demon king is the only one crazy enough to do something like this."

Jie Fu Lian unconsciously nodded his head, agreeing with the woman since he also shared the same thoughts.

"So why am I here?" Jin Shifeng tried to move around and tested the durability of the diety binding ropes that were tied around her wrist, ankles, and waist.

"You are here because I want you to be here," Jie Fu Lian vaguely answered.

"Don’t joke around," Jin Shifeng sighed as she replied, "You wouldn’t have kidnapped me out of boredom."

"You’re right, I didn’t do it out of boredom," Jie Fu Lian gave a nod as he confirmed, "Do you want to know why I really brought you here?"

Jin Shifeng looked as if she was extremely suspicious of the man but she still questioned, "What is it?"

Jie Fu Lian wickedly grinned as he heard this and confidently spoke, "You are a bait."

"A bait?"

"A bait to lure out the master of curses."

"..." Jin Shifeng shut her mouth and slightly tilted her head as she looked at Jie Fu Lian in pure confusion before she asked, "What makes you think the master of curses would come here to save me? Neither do I know him nor does he know me."

"There is no need to lie. You do know him," Jie Fu Lian replied, without missing a beat, "But you are right. The master of curses might not be interested in saving you. He even killed your precious lover so there is no way he has a soft spot for you."

As soon as Jin Shifeng heard the mention of her ’precious lover’ she glared at Jie Fu Lian with hostility and her body seemed to have stiffened like a cat on guard.

"But you know who will care?" Jie Fu Lian continued, ignoring Jin Shifeng’s unfriendly reaction, "Your husband. He might be a husband in name but he is still responsible for you and even if he doesn’t want to, he has no choice but to come and save you."

Jin Shifeng gritted her teeth as she heard this and if looks could kill, Jie Fu Lian would have already been dead a hundred times over.

"He would soon be getting my message," Jie Fu Lian laughed as he spoke, "If he doesn’t bring the master of curses to me, you are not leaving this place."

Jin Shifeng suddenly scoffed as she heard this, "You want him to choose between me and the master of curses? Ha- I feel a little bad for you."

Jie Fu Lian slightly frowned as he heard this, wondering what was so ridiculous as to earn such a reaction from the woman.

"All the best," Jin Shifeng spoke as she shook her head with a sigh, "You think he’d be forced to choose me but between me and the master of curses, I already know who would win and who would be abandoned."

Jie Fu Lian had a feeling that there was some juicy gossip behind this but he dare not let his true nature show through. If he was pretending to be the demon king, he might as well do it properly and become a proper copy of the demon king.

"I hope you gave him a time frame so that we can know his decision sooner. If you plan to wait patiently instead, I’m afraid we’d be waiting here for a very long time."

"Don’t worry. That’s my problem and not yours," Jie Fu Lian strictly spoke, "I wasn’t bluffing when I said I’d kill you. If your husband doesn’t show up, you are gonna have to say your last goodbyes."

"I feel extremely wronged."

"Well you were just kidnapped so I’m sure you are supposed to feel this way."

"What do you need the master of curses for?"

"Do you think I’ll tell you?"
