"What is it?"

"I’ll go with you."

Jie Fu Lian lightly smiled as he heard this and asked, "Can’t even leave my side for a minute? Hua Tianshu, you sure are clingy."

Hua Tianshu did not deny it and simply nodded his head as he spoke, "We’ll search the south together, and then we’ll go search the west."

Jie Fu Lian nodded his head, agreeing.

The two of them headed out to the southern part of the village together in search of Jin Long but disappointingly enough, they were not able to find the man nor were they able to find the master of curses.

However, the two were not disheartened and immediately headed south.

As they walked together, Hua Tianshu couldn’t help but ask, "What are you going to do when you find him? He is surely not going to cooperate with us."

Jie Fu Lian gulped as he heard this question and gave a nod as he spoke, "He will not cooperate. If he had plans to do so, he wouldn’t have run away. At this point, I am sure that he is guilty but I am still not sure just how much he is involved in all of this. In the worst-case scenario, he is the mastermind behind it all. If that is the case, I would really want to ask him why he did everything. I had treated him like a brother... So how could he betray me like that?"

As he spoke the last part, his voice slightly broke, conveying his raw emotions of sadness and betrayal.

"What about you?" Jie Fu Lian quickly controlled his expressions and threw the question back at Hua Tianshu, "What are you going to do?"

Hua Tianshu looked into Jie Fu Lian’s eyes and spoke, "If he was the one behind everything, I’m going to kill him."

Jie Fu Lian’s eyes slightly widened as he heard this and his mind went a little blank. He had clearly not expected such a blunt and firm response.

"And I’m going to give him the worst death possible," Hua Tianshu continued as he gritted his teeth in anger at the mere thought, "I’m going to make him suffer a hundred times more than you. I’m going to make him watch as he loses everything he loves and I’m going to make him beg me to kill him. However, a plain death would be a blessing to him and I am not a kind man. I am going to carve out his heart and burn his body to ashes. His soul will be ripped apart and I’ll never allow it to enter the cycle of reincarnation."

For a second, Jie Fu Lian wondered if the man was being serious, but with just a glance at Hua Tianshu’s face, Jie Fu Lian immediately knew that the man was not saying this just for the sake of saying it. He wasn’t bluffing. Every word he spoke, he meant with his heart.

As Hua Tianshu finished speaking, Jie Fu Lian genuinely felt a sense of pity for Jin Long and prayed for him not to be the original culprit who planned everything.

"If you try to stop me, I’ll listen to you," Hua Tianshu added with a sigh as he looked down at the ground, "But I hope you won’t. I have suffered for the last eight years of my life. Every day was a torment and every morning I woke up with the thought of wanting to die. For the past eight years, time had stopped for me and all that was left in my heart was emptiness. He would never know my suffering and he could never understand my pain so I plan on showing it to him by making him experience the same. I’ll avenge you and I’ll get my revenge as well."

Jie Fu Lian lightly stretched his lips up in a smile as he heard this and sighed before he spoke, "I won’t try to stop you. If things really do turn out that way, I would not feel any sense of good feelings toward him. I considered him a brother but he betrayed me first and by doing so, our ties were already severed and I wouldn’t care even if he lived a horrible life or died a gruesome death."

Although he had said such confident big words, deep in his heart, Jie Fu Lian wasn’t sure whether he really would be able to turn his back on Jin Long that quickly.

However, his words were still reassuring to Hua Tianshu who smiled as he heard him.

The two did not discuss the topic any further and kept on walking, searching around in search of Jin Long and the master of curses.

After about an hour and a half, they finally arrived in front of a house that was said to belong to a righteous cultivator.

The little village boy who helped lead them to this house did not know the real name of the house owner and called him ’mister cultivator’.

In Shi Cheng, there were hardly any cultivators coming around to visit so who would ever want to buy a house here?

As soon as this question crossed Jie Fu Lian’s mind, he immediately found the house suspicious and went with Hua Tianshu to check it out.

Hua Tianshu concealed his presence and checked out the area once before he looked at Jie Fu Lian and gave a nod as he spoke, "There are people inside."

Jie Fu Lian’s lips curled down in a frown as he heard this and instead of knocking and entering from the front door, Jie Fu Lian pulled Hua Tianshu towards the backside of the house.

"We cannot alert them," Jie Fu Lian whispered.

Hua Tianshu gave a nod.

The two quietly snuck up behind the house and suddenly, they heard the voices of Jin Long and the master of curses.

Luckily, there was a window that was wide enough for them to peek in at the two. With their heads ducked down and their eyes looking in, Jie Fu Lian and Hua Tianshu eavesdropped on the conversation and watched on like hawks.

"You still don’t know who he is?" Jin Long questioned, creases forming on his forehead as a result of anxiousness and worry.

The master of curses, who was wearing a cloak shook his head with a sigh and although his head was covered by the cloak, his face was still visible.

With just a glance, both Hua Tianshu and Jie Fu Lian recognized the man.

"Isn’t he the one that-"

"Hmm. It’s him," Hua Tianshu cut off the question and quickly spoke, confirming it.

When they were leaving the Jin Sect, they came across a man who was laughing as he talked to the Jin sect guards. Since Jie Fu Lian had never seen the man before that, he felt quite suspicious of him and Hua Tianshu simply brushed it aside by saying that the man looked like a perfect swindler. At that time, they had walked away without giving the man another thought but now that they were here witnessing the conversation between Jin Long and the master of curses, they came to the realization that the swindler they saw was the master of curses that they were after.

Both Hua Tianshu and Jie Fu Lian felt equally shocked.

Jin Long frowned as he rubbed his forehead, his expression quite grave. The master of curses sighed and pulled his lips up to a small smile as he walked over to Jin Long and sat beside the man as he spoke, "Don’t worry. You have me. I’ll never let him kill you."

Jie Fu Lian’s eyebrows slightly creased together in confusion as he heard this conversation. At first, he thought the two were talking about him but as soon as the word ’kill’ was mentioned, he felt as if he had guessed wrong since there was no way he would try to kill Jin Long.

The master of curses lifted his hand and softly brushed Jin Long’s hair back.

Suddenly, Jie Fu Lian felt a shiver run down his spine as he saw this intimate action.

Jin Long looked up at the master of curses and smiled softly, his eyes filled with deep adoration and love that he had never shown to his own wife.

A scary thought crossed Jie Fu Lian’s mind and his expression soon stiffened. Just like Jie Fu Lian, Hua Tianshu had also managed to catch on to what was happening.

"Thank you for staying with me," Jin Long spoke with a soft chuckle, "If it were not for you, I wouldn’t have made it this far."

"You don’t need to thank me," The master of curses smiled as he spoke, "It is my choice to stay beside you and... I love you so it is only natural that I support you in every way that I could."

Jie Fu Lian gulped, his mind instantly going blank as he heard the latter sentence. The scary thought had come true.

The relationship between the master of curses and Jin Long was much more complicated than what they had guessed...!

As if to further confirm this, Jin Long pulled the master of curses closer and kissed him without any hesitance. The movement was so natural that it seemed as if they had done it a thousand times before.

Jie Fu Lian finally understood what Jin Shifeng meant when she said she would never be chosen over the master of curses.
