Instead of giving the man a reply, he turned around and ran towards Jie Fu Lian.
Jie Fu Lian smirked as he lifted his sword, "Running to your own death? I like this version of you, brother Jin Long."
Jin Long stopped in the middle and felt a little terrified as he looked at the expression on Jie Fu Lian’s face.
"D-Do you think you can all get away with this...?!" Jin Long spitefully shouted, "I’ll kill you... I’ll kill all of you!"
Jie Fu Lian mercilessly attacked Jin Long, not wanting to hear him spout any more nonsense but Jin Long avoided it and ran toward the edge of the cliff.
"Brother Ming, I’ll kill you!" Jin Long shouted as he jumped into the abyss.
Jie Fu Lian rushed over to grab the man but he was a step too late.
Jin Long disappeared, leaving behind nothing more than the residue of a transportation talisman.
"He escaped," Jie Fu Lian frowned as he spoke up.
"Damn it!" Shen Chao cursed.
Instead of going after the man, Jie Fu Lian rushed over to Hua Tianshu and his eyes changed back to their normal dark color.
He transferred a string of spiritual energy into Hua Tianshu’s body and silently prayed for the man to gain consciousness.
Shen Chao, who saw the worried expression on Jie Fu Lian’s face, could not help but feel pity for the man and spoke, "He won’t wake up that easily."
"Then what should be done?" Jie Fu Lian asked, sounding a bit desperate.
"They have been affected by a strong curse. Unless the curse leaves their body, they cannot wake up. If we can’t remove the curse, it might even become fatal to them," The man from the Pheonix clan spoke up with a sigh.
Jie Fu Lian gritted his teeth as he heard this and couldn’t help but feel helpless.
"There is a method that we can try but I am not sure if it would work," Shen Chao sighed as he spoke.
"What is it?" Jie Fu Lian immediately questioned.
"It’s a bit dangerous," Shen Chao warned but Jie Fu Lian didn’t seem to care.
With a sigh, Shen Chao walked over to Jie Fu Lian and leaned in closer to his ear as he whispered something.
Jie Fu Lian’s eyes slightly widened and his cheeks blushed red as he heard the dangerous method that Shen Chao had come up with.
"Are you sure it would work?" Jie Fu Lian asked, feeling a little hesitant.
"I don’t know," Shen Chao shrugged his shoulders as he honestly replied, "But it is worth a try."
Jie Fu Lian’s eyebrows creased together as he heard this and he carefully looked at Hua Tianshu’s face as he contemplated for a moment if the method would actually work or not.
"What is the method?" The man from the Pheonix clan asked, feeling a little curious as he saw the serious expressions on the faces of the two men.
Jie Fu Lian pursed his lips and said nothing as he completely ignored the man’s question and kept looking at Hua Tianshu whose complexion seemed to have turned pale.
"Are you going to do it?" Shen Chao asked and Jie Fu Lian gulped as he nodded his head.
The man from the phoenix clan pursed his lips unhappily and got ready to say something but before any words could leave his mouth, he was shocked by Jie Fu Lian’s sudden actions.
Jie Fu Lian leaned in closer to Hua Tianshu’s face and in front of everyone, without any hesitation, kissed the man’s lips.
"..." The sight was shocking but at the same time, not as shocking as it should have been. Before this, many had already guessed that the two had a very intimate relationship and now, their guesses were only proven to be true.
The man from the phoenix clan coughed and cleared his throat as he immediately looked away.
Shen Chao closed his eyes and started chanting something.
Jie Fu Lian could feel his heart race but he was unsure if it was caused by excitement or fear.
As soon as Shen Chao began chanting, Jie Fu Lian could feel that the method had started to work since there was intense pain emitting from his chest.
His heart felt as if it was being squeezed by something vicious that was trying to kill him and possess him.
There was a scalding sensation on his lips that almost made him want to pull away from the kiss but Jie Fu Lian closed his eyes and did not give in to the pain that easily.
Shen Chao had already warned him not to pull away before the chanting was finished and since Jie Fu Lian was also afraid of the side effects, he dare not defy Shen Chao’s words.
As the chanting continued, the pain only got worse. There came a point where Jie Fu Lian couldn’t even feel his heartbeat anymore and it terrified him a little since it wasn’t the first time he was experiencing such a feeling. It was as if he was about to die once again and that thought truly made him shiver in fear.
His face had turned pale and his fingers were shaking but he dare not give up.
Shen Chao kept chanting for a little more than a minute but for Jie Fu Lian, that small duration of time felt as if it had lasted for over a century.
As soon as the chanting was over, Hua Tianshu slowly opened his eyes and was immediately shocked as he tried to understand the odd situation.
When Jie Fu Lian saw the man opening his eyes, he slightly smiled in relief, and in the very next moment, he passed out, without even bothering to move over.
Hua Tianshu was perplexed at the situation. The last thing he remembered was being affected by the curse and passing out due to extreme pain and exhaustion.
Now, he was waking up to Jie Fu Lian kissing him and he was so shocked that he didn’t even know how he was supposed to react to this situation.
Shen Chao pushed Jie Fu Lian off of Hua Tianshu’s body and sighed in relief as he looked at Hua Tianshu and spoke, "It worked."
"What worked?" Hua Tianshu asked, tilting his head in confusion as he glanced at Jie Fu Lian before looking back at Shen Chao.
"True love’s kiss."

Shen Chao winked and said nothing more as he moved over to Duan Luoyang’s side.
Hua Tianshu was left stunned and confused.
Shen Chao felt for Duan Luoyang’s pulse and sighed in relief before he took the man’s hand and once again started chanting something.
The man from the phoenix sect raised an eyebrow as he glanced at the unconscious Jie Fu Lian and then looked at Shen Chao in confusion as he tried to guess what the man was doing.
This time, Shen Chao seemed to be having some difficulty as he kept chanting. His face had turned pale and he looked to be in pain.
From Duan Luoyang’s arm, a string of black ink seemed to be moving like a snake and transferred over to Shen Chao’s arm. The dark blue veins on Shen Chao’s arms seemed to be popping out in anger, not ready to accept the string of black ink, however, although his body was clearly trying to reject the foreign object, Shen Chao did not stop and forced himself to take away the curse that had infected Duan Luoyang.
When he was done chanting, Duan Luoyang weakly opened his eyes and looked to be in a daze. Shen Chao, on the other hand, looked like he was about to pass out due to exhaustion.

"Shen Chao..." Duan Luoyang weakly managed to speak, his voice barely audible, "What happened to uncle Fu...?"
Shen Chao didn’t know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard this question.
"You idiot, I just saved your life and instead of being grateful, you are worrying about that demon? Do you even know the meaning of gratitude?"
Duan Luoyang slightly frowned as he heard this and looked at Shen Chao carefully before he asked, "Are you hurt? Why is your face so pale?"
Shen Chao unhappily pursed his lips together and refused to give a response to the man.
"Jie Fu Lian, wake up." Hua Tianshu looked to be extremely worried as he tried to wake Jie Fu Lian up.
"He won’t die," Shen Chao sighed as he spoke, "He just needs a little rest."
"What happened?" Hua Tianshu asked, looking a little terrified.
"The curse that affected Daoist Hua was stronger. Since he absorbed it all, he must be in pain right now. For the time being, it’s best to let him rest."
Hua Tianshu’s eyes widened and he repeated, "Absorbed? Are you telling me that he absorbed... the curse?"
Shen Chao immediately nodded his head as he confirmed it.
