The Demon King is an Idiot [BL]-Chapter 186: Then let me crush them first
Ren Lei helped Jie Fu Lian up by pulling at the soil that had pinned him to the ground.
Now that he had been freed, Jie Fu Lian gulped as he mentally ordered the puppets to move in a calculated manner.
Heeding his orders, the puppets started running around the demon in a circle, and in the end, Jie Fu Lian shouted for Hua Tianshu to retreat, "TianTian, step back!"
Hua Tianshu instinctually listened to the man and moved back.
Jie Fu Lian reached out for something and immediately pulled it. Nobody understood what the man was doing but in the very next moment, they saw the demon falling down, having been cut into small pieces of lava rocks that fell to the ground.
It was the wind string art of the Yan sect.
It was the same technique that Jie Fu Lian had used to kill his first high-ranked demon. At that time, he was still learning it and had not perfected the art, however, later on, he practiced it like crazy and managed to become better than his father who was known to have been a master at using the wind string art of the Yan sect.
Jie Fu Lian did not expect this technique to kill the demon. In fact, he was simply testing out something and checking whether he was right or not.
When the lava rocks gathered together and attached themselves to one another, forming the demon, Jie Fu Lian’s lips curled up in a small smile as he mentally commented, ’He’s slower this time.’
Jie Fu Lian had been paying attention to the time taken by the demon in order to regenerate itself and surprisingly enough, The demon’s regenerative abilities were starting to slow down. The change wasn’t that noticeable, but Jie Fu Lian, who was paying attention to it, could easily tell.
"Shen Fang, you’ve changed," The demon commented with a wicked grin as it glared at Jie Fu Lian, "Back then, you liked to end things quickly but now, you are being much more cautious. Is it because you are afraid of hurting the people around you?"
Jie Fu Lian frowned as he heard this but naturally did not give a response to this. In his mind, he had already concluded that the demon was still mistaking him for Shen Fang and was yet to recognize his true identity.
The only reason why Jie Fu Lian did not bother correcting the misunderstanding was because he felt that it would make no difference. Whether he be Shen Fang or Shen Fang’s grandson, to the demon, it made no difference since both could be considered his enemies.
Jie Fu Lian’s silence was taken as a confirmation to the demon’s question and the demon’s grin widened.
"Then let me crush them first!" The demon clenched his fist and aimed for Duan Luoyang, throwing a punch that could very much kill the man with a single blow.
Shen Chao, who was right beside Duan Luoyang, moved on instinct and grabbed Duan Luoyang before harshly pulling him aside, barely managing to save him.
"Damn it," Shen Chao cursed under his breath, feeling as if he had been forced to join this fight.
He bit into his finger till it bled and used the ground to create an array. When the blood oozing out wasn’t enough, he used a small knife to make a deeper cut on his palm and continued to make the array.
The demon didn’t bother stopping Shen Chao nor did it try to aim for them again. Instead of Duan Luoyang, the demon changed its target to Hua Meifang who was yet to gain consciousness.
There was nobody standing beside Hua Meifang and that made her an easy target that was hard to save.
Nobody expected the demon to suddenly change targets like that and hence, even Jin Shifeng, who could be considered as the person standing nearest to Hua Meifang, failed to react on time.
The demon showed no signs of stopping and for a second there, it looked like Hua Meifang could not be saved. However, as the demon’s fist reached Hua Meifang, it struck something invisible and was immediately crushed.
There was an invisible barrier that had come out of nowhere and protected the woman.
"Don’t you dare touch my sister," Hua Tianshu gritted out, pointing his sword at the demon threateningly.
There was no doubt that the barrier had been created by Hua Tianshu but it was still a bit surprising to see that he had managed to react that fast.
"Impressive," The demon chuckled as it glared at Hua Tianshu, "But if you protect her, who is going to protect you?"
Hua Tianshu’s eyes narrowed down on the demon as he heard this and he felt something creeping up from behind him.
When he glanced back, he saw a stone giant standing behind him, seeming to have appeared out of nowhere.
This stone giant was made from the remains of the broken puppets, but it was not controlled by Jie Fu Lian.
Jie Fu Lian had already guessed that this demon would at one point try to do this and so, he had his lips curled up in a small smirk as he saw this.
The demon did not know that the puppets had been infused with Jie Fu Lian’s blood and hence used it, thinking that the demon would be able to fully control it. However, the stone giant did not listen to the demon’s order and stood there as if it was rebelling against him.
The demon frowned in confusion, unable to understand what was happening. Angered by the disobedience of the stone giant, the demon created two more. However, all three stone giants refused to listen to it.
Jie Fu Lian couldn’t help but mockingly laugh as he snapped his fingers and the stone giants turned to look at the demon in unison.
The demon took a step back as it warily glanced at Jie Fu Lian, "What did you do...?!"
Jie Fu Lian only smiled as he heard this question and did not give a response as he mouthed out an order to the stone giants, "Attack."
All three of the stone giants jumped up and attacked the demon, shredding the creature into bits and pieces of volcanic rock. When the demon regenerated itself, the stone giants broke it apart once again.
This went on for quite some time and it looked like this was it for the demon that had fallen for Jie Fu Lian’s trap.
However, the demon suddenly roared and somehow managed to break the three stone giants as it freed itself.
This time, not only had the demon regenerated itself, but it seemed like its size had changed. It had grown bigger and looked to be even more fierce than before.
Roaring out loud in anger, it seemed as if the demon had really lost its mind in anger.
The demon had already lost control and was throwing around its arms and legs as if its only aim was to cause destruction and kill everyone present in front of him.
At first, it looked like this could be used as an advantage since they could all attack together and suppress the demon. However, this proved to be nothing but wishful thinking.
The demon’s movements were so uncoordinated and dynamic that it was hard to predict its actions. Jie Fu Lian managed to dodge most of the attacks but in the end, he was still hit a few times.
As for the others, they were in the same situation.
They could all feel that the situation had gotten dangerous and they no longer had the leisure of taking it easy. The moment they lost their focus or acted carelessly, they would die.
Jie Fu Lian’s puppet army which was trying its best to fight against the demon had already been defeated and now, he had barely a few puppets left with him.
Jie Fu Lian coughed out a mouthful of blood and grabbed his abdomen in pain, feeling as if the demon’s attack had messed with the demonic Qi inside Jie Fu Lian and now, he felt as if his internal organs were being twisted and turned.
For a second there, Jie Fu Lian was distracted and the demon surely did not forget to take advantage of that.
Thankfully, Hua Tianshu was there to save the man and worriedly asked, "Jie Ming, are you okay?"
Jie Fu Lian forced himself to put on a smile as he raised his head to look at Hua Tianshu and gave a small nod, "I’m okay. It just hurts a little. I can still fight."
Hua Tianshu could already tell that Jie Fu Lian was lying but he knew he could not stop Jie Fu Lian from fighting so with a small frown, he spoke, "Don’t push yourself too hard."
Jie Fu Lian nodded his head with a warm smile as he heard this.
Ren Lei, who had been punched by the demon, spit out a mouthful of blood and fell to her knees, feeling as if she had almost crossed the yellow river.
"This damn thing is strong...!" Ren Lei gritted out, wincing in pain.
