Chapter 60: The grade was changed.

"What the hell are you two doing here?" Jie Fu Lian immediately questioned, sounding a bit angry, "Jin Long, I locked the door, didn’t I? Why did you follow me? And Tail, I thought you were practicing back at the Yan sect. When did you come here?"

Hearing this, Jin Long had managed to guess the identity of the person standing in front of him.

"Y-Young Master," Tail sniffled back his snot and cried some more as he trembled in fear and spoke, "I thought you were in danger *sniffle* *sniffle* I wasn’t going to follow you but *sniffle* I suddenly had a bad feeling."

"Stop talking," Jie Fu Lian rubbed his head as he sighed and Tail immediately stopped talking.

"Hua Tianshu, release them first."

Hua Tianshu nodded his head as he heard this and obediently did as told.

Once the rope around Tail’s hand was loosened, he immediately ran over to Jie Fu Lian and hugged his arm like a little child as he continued to cry and whine, "Young Master, I was very scared. I thought I’d never see you again."

Jie Fu Lian flicked the boy’s forehead as he heard this, "Don’t talk nonsense. Who in the world dares to kill me?"

Seeing Tail cling onto Jie Fu Lian like this, Jin Long felt a little jealous and decided to do the same.

In the end, Jie Fu Lian had crybabies clinging onto both his arms.

Both tried to explain their situation but in the end, Jie Fu Lian couldn’t make sense of anything over their crying.

Hua Meifang could feel her brother’s killing intent rise and it sent a shiver down her spine. If she were not to interfere in this situation, she was sure her brother would lose control and do something troublesome.

"You two! How old do you think you are?" Hua Meifang asked with a frown as she pointed at Jin Long and Tail, "Why the hell are you clinging and crying like this at your age? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?"

"I’m just nine years old," Tail replied.

"..." Hua Meifang couldn’t say anything against that so she immediately turned her eyes to Jin Long.

"Brother Ming didn’t push me away so why are you complaining?" Jin long defended himself as he confidently argued with Hua Meifang.

"Just because he didn’t push you away doesn’t mean you aren’t annoying him," Hua Meifang wasn’t one to back down so she naturally had a suitable response, "Just look at his face. He’s annoyed to death by the two of you."

Jin Long and Tail immediately lifted their heads and looked at Jie Fu Lian’s face which was covered in thick bandages.

Hua Meifang coughed as she added, "Even if you can’t see his expression, you can sense his emotion. He’s definitely annoyed."

"I’m not annoyed," Jie Fu Lian sighed as he spoke up, "But it certainly is uncomfortable. First, let me go. Second, stop crying. I want you to speak properly and tell me exactly how you got here."

Jin Long and Tail were like two obedient children who were told to behave by their father and they immediately listened to him.

They stopped crying and let go of his arm before sitting down on the ground before him, looking at him expectantly.

Jie Fu Lian looked at Tail as he signaled, "You start first."

"Young Master, after you left, the sect master got a letter from the Pheonix clan. They said that the demon was more dangerous than they had originally thought and hence, the mission was suddenly upgraded into a Grade-S mission. Sect Master sent you a voice transmission to inform you, but something seemed to have gone wrong. I had a bad feeling about it so I decided to come to Nanxun city. I only wanted to make sure that you were okay but when I reached your room, it was completely empty. I searched for you throughout the city and in the end, a weird woman approached me and she mentioned your name. She led me inside a brothel and I don’t remember what happened after that."

Jie Fu Lian frowned as he heard this and immediately asked, "What do you mean Grade-S? Why would they reevaluate the mission so suddenly? Did they find something?"

Tail nodded his head as he revealed, "They found the identity of the demon."

For some reason, Jie Fu Lian glanced over at Hua Tianshu as he heard this and it seemed that Hua Tianshu was also looking back at him.

"Who is it?" Jie Fu Lian questioned as he once again turned his head to look at Tail.

"The demon king, Shen Fang."

"..." Jie Fu Lian suddenly wanted to go back home. He should have never thought of coming to save Hua Tianshu! Now he had to deal with the demon king who could very well kill him!

"That’s impossible!" Hua Meifang was the first to speak up, "Do you think the demon king is so idle that he would come here just to cause a ruckus?"

"I also thought it’s impossible but," Tail suddenly stopped speaking and gulped as he contemplated on whether to say something or not.

Jie Fu Lian, who had noticed this, immediately pressed, "Speak."

"Sect Master said that there are two demons involved in this case. The demon king was looking for someone. He ordered one of his subordinates to create all the ruckus and kill people in order to attract attention. By doing so, he hoped that the person he was looking for would show up."

Jie Fu Lian’s eyebrows furrowed together and he felt a little confused.

"Who is he looking for?" It was Hua Tianshu who had asked.

"I don’t know," Tail shook his head as he honestly answered, "But Sect Master looked to be very worried and wanted Young Master Jie Fu Lian to immediately return."

Jie Fu Lian took a deep breath in and tried to think calmly as he spoke, "Father wanted me to return just because it is a Grade-S mission? That’s quite offensive. Does he think I can’t stand a chance against the Demon King?"

"Young Master, you really don’t stand a chance against the demon king," Tail innocently informed.

"..." Jie Fu Lian wanted to kick the boy.

"Umm... Daoist Tail...?" Hua Meifang felt that the name was a bit weird and hence she slightly hesitated to say it before she pointed out, "I understand that Sect Master Jie is worried, but in this situation unless we defeat the demon, it is quite impossible for him to return."

Tail had also realized this so he simply nodded his head as he agreed with the girl.

"Daoist Fu, you should also calm down," Hua Meifang sighed as she rubbed her forehead and added, "Right now, it doesn’t matter whether you can beat the demon king or not. If we want to leave this place, we must beat him and if we can’t do it fairly, we must try to trick him into letting us go."

Hua Tianshu nodded his head as he agreed with his sister and Jie Fu Lian simply frowned as he heard this.

Beating the demon king was impossible. He clearly knew that. He also knew that tricking the demon king was also just as impossible so there wasn’t really much of an option for them.

They were truly in a bad situation and one wrong move could get them killed... That was the truth.

"Y-Young Master, I’ve been meaning to ask this but..." Tail gulped as he hesitated a little to speak, "Where are we?"

"In a dream."

"Eh?"

Jie Fu Lian clicked his tongue as he explained further, "This is a dream. To be more exact, it is an illusion that was made using our dreams as the base. We can only wake up if we break this illusion."

Tail’s eyes widened and he felt a little excited, "An illusion made using dreams...? Woah. It’s my first Grade-S mission. My heart can’t stop beating!"

"That’s good. It would be a bigger problem if your heart ’did’ stop beating."

"..."

"I want you to be clear," Hua Tianshu suddenly spoke up as his eyes dangerously narrowed down on Tail, "You said there are two demons. So are they both in here with us?"

Tail gulped as he heard this question and innocently nodded his head as he confirmed it, "According to the new information given, they should both be here."

"Is there a way to confirm it?" Hua Tianshu questioned, without missing a beat.

"I don’t know," Tail shook his head as he looked down in disappointment and replied.

Jie Fu Lian patted the boy’s head with a sigh as he spoke, "It’s okay if you don’t know. No need to start crying again."

Jin Long suddenly raised his hands as he cleared his throat and spoke, "Um... I think I might be a witness."

"Huh?" Jie Fu Lian’s head snapped towards the man and he simply stared at him as he waited for the man to explain further.

"I saw the two demons," Jin Long revealed.

"When and how?" Jie Fu Lian sharply questioned.
