Chapter 669: Star Constellation

Evanthe and Draven reached the healing chamber of the Witch Clan. There, Evanthe turned to Draven. "I need you to pass a part of your darkness to Zaria so she can regain strength and wake up soon. We have limited sources of darkness, and Drayce needs to stay with Arlan."

Draven’s eyes darkened at the sight of the witch he had been waiting to kill for over a century.

"Contain your anger," Evanthe warned. "Killing a helpless woman is not what you want, and at this moment, she is our only hope."

Though the darkness in his eyes disagreed, Draven proceeded to transfer his darkness to Zaria. Cornelia had also given her a potion, setting aside her hatred and following Evanthe’s orders.

After a while, Zaria regained consciousness. Evanthe hurried to her. "Zaria, I need your help."

Zaria weakly sat up in the bed. "I know. I want to protect her as well."

"Then tell me if you know a way to the Demon realm."

"I’m afraid I don’t have an answer to that."

"Think of something," Evanthe urged. "You have always been the smartest among us, finding ways when there were none. You always knew how to navigate the impossible. I know you can do it. Think."

Zaria weakly chuckled. "So you trust my abilities."

"I always have. That’s why no one has been able to catch you until now," Evanthe replied. "Just think. How did they contact you? There must be a medium, right?"

Something clicked in Zaria’s mind. "Yes, there is, but it opens only when a particular star pattern appears in the sky, creating a connection between the two realms."

"What star pattern? Which one out of so many?" Evanthe asked urgently.

"Abyssal Constellation, the one dark power possessors use," Zaria explained.

Evanthe thought for a moment before speaking, "Alright, it will be there. All you need to do is guide us to enter the demon realm through that portal. Take us to that place." There was urgency in her voice.

"How are you going to create the Abyssal Constellation?" Zaria asked, puzzled. "There’s a month left for it to form in the sky. Only a deity that controls the stars can do it, and none of us are such a deity, nor do we know any."

"You don’t have to worry about that," Evanthe said firmly. "I’ll be back in half an hour. Until then, prepare yourself to take us to the portal."

Zaria nodded and looked at Sierra after Evanthe disappeared. "Does she really know a deity that controls celestial constellations?"

"You never know," Sierra replied. "As she said, let’s get ready."

Zaria nodded again and sat quietly for a while, closing her eyes to gather and stabilize her energy before they left.

As promised, Evanthe returned after half an hour, looking exhausted as if she had traveled far. Arlan, Drayce, Draven, Sierra, Yorian and Zaria were waiting for her. Seren and Ember had been left in the care of others.

"Mother, are you alright?" Drayce walked up to her, concern evident in his eyes.

Evanthe inhaled deeply. "I am. We can’t wait any longer. The star patterns will be there soon." She looked at Zaria. "Take us there."

Just then Snowflake arrived the council hall. She had sensed her master was in danger and came to Arlan.

Yorian looked at her, "Taking her would be better as she might help protect Oriana in the Demon realm."

Everyone agreed and Evanthe instructed Zaria to go.

Zaria nodded, and with a swift incantation, they disappeared from the council hall, only to reappear outside an ancient-looking stony structure.

The air around them was thick with a sense of foreboding as they stood before the ancient structure, its stones weathered by time and magic. Zaria led them through the stony way and they stopped in front of a rocky wall.

Zaria chanted a spell, and the wall shifted, revealing a huge ancient stone chamber filled with darkness. She used another spell, and various torches lit up, illuminating the space.

She guided them towards the platform where she always communicated with the Lord, who appeared only as a shadow to her sight. "Here, he appears here, more like his shadow shows up on that dark curtain," Zaria informed.

"As he is the Lord of Darkness, he must use the power of darkness to open that portal," Evanthe murmured as she walked over to the platform and touched the dark curtain. Behind it was nothing but a wall and an old stony throne.

She moved the curtain aside and touched the throne, feeling the traces of darkness upon it. The shadow of the lord must sit on this throne.

She looked at the three dragons. "You three have to use your powers on this throne when the star pattern is there. Do not break this throne, but treat it as a door to another realm. Once you use your powers, you will know what to do as it will resist you."

The three dragons nodded while Evanthe turned to Zaria, who had her eyes closed, focusing on something.

"Is the star pattern there?" Evanthe asked.

There was no reply from Zaria while the others waited.

Soon she reacted and opened her eyes. "It’s there," she said, her gaze showing surprise as she looked at Evanthe, thinking about what this white witch had done to make it appear. "It’s truly there."

Ignoring her, Evanthe looked at the three dragons. "You can start."

Arlan, Drayce, and Draven stepped forward, their eyes glowing with determination and power. They positioned themselves around the throne and began to channel their energy. Dark, swirling power emanated from them, converging on the throne.

As the power flowed, the throne seemed to resist, vibrating with an almost sentient force. The dark energy crackled and sparked, trying to push back against the dragons’ efforts.

"Keep going," Evanthe urged. "It’s trying to resist, but you must overpower it."

The three dragons focused their energy, pushing harder against the resisting force. The air around them shimmered with the intensity of their power, and the dark throne began to glow with an eerie light.

Suddenly, the throne emitted a deep, resonant hum, and the dark curtain behind it started to ripple as if touched by an unseen wind. A portal began to form, swirling with dark energy, a gateway to the Demon realm.

"It truly worked," Sierra mumbled.

After using their powers for a while longer, the portal emitting darkness appeared.

Arlan stepped forward to enter it, but Evanthe stopped him. "Don’t be in such a hurry." She walked closer to the portal, with Sierra following closely.

"It seems like only those with a darkness attribute can cross it," Sierra commented, to which Evanthe nodded.

"We should send someone with Prince Arlan," Yoriana suggested.

Evanthe turned to Arlan. "You can enter it. Take Drayce with you."

Drayce was already prepared; there was no way he would allow Arlan to go alone.

"I am going with them as well," Draven announced.

"Someone needs to stay to protect our mates," Drayce commented. "You need to stay."

"When your mother is here to protect them, they will be fine," Draven spoke, his gaze passing over Zaria, who just rolled her eyes at him. "It’s not difficult for her to handle earthly nuisances," he spoke again, calling Zaria a nuisance.

"Don’t worry about her. She won’t do anything," Evanthe assured. "It might be better to take Draven with you as well. You don’t know what you will face in the Demon realm."

The three nodded and entered the portal, while Yoriana guided Snowflake to follow them. The portal closed behind them as they disappeared.
