The Devil's Betrothed-Chapter 776: Sword Of God Of War
Chapter 776: Sword Of God Of War
Oriana, who heard it all and was thinking about something, said finally. "They said supernaturals from the mortal world can’t defeat the deities, but I am from the demon realm and much powerful."
It caught the attention of three Dragons.
Then she looked at Draven, "They say only the god of war was powerful enough to stand against me, but the god of war is no longer in the heaven realm now. isn’t it?" The scabbard sword appeared in her hand and she ran her fingers along it, "With soul reaver, I am sure I can defeat those deities and bring my friends back."
"I will come with you," Arlan said, "Together, I am sure we can stir up the entire heaven realm."
But the other two Dragon’s didn’t agree with this pair of mates.
"Oriana, I have fought with them and they are not just few, but the entire heaven realm would stand against you," Drayce said, "We can’t allow you to go there without us making any plan."
"I agree with Drayce," Draven said, "Though we want to bring our mates back, we can’t put anyone else in danger, and especially not you."
Drayce looked at Arlan, "I know you want to help, but we can’t allow you to put your mate in danger when she has just overcomed one."
Draven, who thought about something said, "When the time comes, we can take the help from the Demon realm as they are powerful enough to fight against heaven. But for that, Oriana has to remove the shield she had built around the Demon realm, which might create another conflict if the Demons are left free like in the past. There might be another war between Demons and Deities which was stopped by Oriana’s sacrifice in the previous life."
"I will take care of them. If any Demon go against my order and betrays me for the power gain, they will find themselves in the Valley of Abyss," Oriana assured.
"We can use it to distract Deities from Seren and Ember," Arlan said to which Drayce added, "With the Demon realm finally free, the deities would be alert and worry if the demons would attack them again. It would be a great way to distract them from our mates."
"Another thing," Oriana said, "When I was talking to Tharzimon, he said the god of war used to have the sword as powerful as mine. You must heard it in the Demon realm as well."
Draven hummed as Xyron had said it as well and even mocked him for carrying an ordinary sword.
Arlan understood what Oriana was trying to imply and said, "Just like how Oriana got her sword and then with that her powers back, we need to find your sword as well. If you were a powerful god of war, with that sword, you would turn invisible as well against the deities."
"Just like me, with that sword you would regain your original powers, King Draven," Oriana commented.
Drayce hummed asked Draven, "Any memories of your past that can guide us to your sword?"
Draven shook his head, "I do not remember any sword. All I had the some glimpse of the deity of fire from the past."
"If Oriana’s sword was in the Demon realm, then your sword must be in the heaven realm," Arlan suggested, "Maybe we can get it once we go there. You have to figure out the way how to find it or call for it."
"We can’t enter there just like that," Oriana said, "When you three entered the demon realm, Tharzimon had sensed it. It’s highly likely that deities would sense it as well and catch us even before we find Seren and Ember."
As they continued to discuss for a while more, trying to device a plan, Drayce wondered, "It’s been a while. Why isn’t mother back? I will go check."
Draven stood up, "I know where to."
All of them disappeared from the place, only to arrive by the riverside where Evanthe was trying to use her powers and finally ended up giving up.
Drayce was about to go to her but Draven stopped him. "She might not need her son at the moment but a friend."
Drayce stopped and watched Draven going to his mother, though his heart hurt for her.
She had always been stronger in front of her son and might not want to show her weak and vulnerable side to him.
She had always been stronger in front of her son and might not want to show her weak and vulnerable side to him.
Draven approached the weak woman, who was kneeling on the ground, her head lowered, her clothes and long hair disheveled, covering the sides of her face, her closed eyes shading tears.
He knelt before her and called for her softly, "Evanthe."
She didn’t respond as if she felt utterly defeated.
Draven finally moved his hands, brushed her hair away from her face and wiped the tears from her cheeks.
She finally opened her teary eyes and looked at him, while unable to hold herself from crying. "I failed you Draven...I failed my son as well..."
"You didn’t," Draven tried to comfort as he gently caressed her cheek, "I know how strongly you must have fought against them. No blames you."
She shook her head, and cried even more while resting her head against his chest.
Draven caressed her head gently as he let her cry and heard her say while poring her pain out.
"But I blame myself. I can’t even tap on my true powers. How am I suppose to bring them back?"
"Not you alone, we all there. we together will bring them back," Draven assured, "You have to get hold of yourself. I need you. We all need you."
Evanthe continued to cry while Draven accompanied her in the silence.
Drayce watched his mother from distance, his own eyes moist. His fists clenched with the determination of making those deities pay, who caused his mother to cry like this and even dared to take his mate away from him.
Arlan and Oriana could only watch in silence as well.
