The Devil's Betrothed-Chapter 815: Drayvor And Evanthe
Grianor and Solaris walked ahead while they signaled the other deities to stay away. Solaris used his power, and the surface below Ember and the others who were sitting was lifted up, leveling it to the rest of the snowy ground.
Drayce, Oriana, and Arlan also descended to the ground. They hurried to their friends.
Evanthe didn’t stop despite the instruction and hurried to Draven. She knelt next to Drayvor and called for Draven, who had his eyes closed once more.
She held his other hand. "Draven, are you alright? Say something."
Ember didn’t stop her from coming to them, as she was a friend. But Drayvor’s expression darkened as his woman was holding some other dragon’s hand.
"He is alright," Drayvor told her, his voice restrained. "Let him rest."
Evanthe looked at Drayvor with a frown and offered him a displeased look as he was meddling between her and her friends.
Drayvor’s red eyes met hers, steady and firm, and then moved to her hand which was holding Draven’s. "You might like to let it go."
There was calmness, but a warning at the same time.
Evanthe frowned inwardly and gently placed Draven’s hand over his chest. She looked like she wanted to curse Drayvor, but she held herself back.
Arlan nudged Drayce. "Isn’t it good to see your parents flirting?"
Drayce frowned. "Yeah, just like how you feel when your own parents flirt."
"That’s the fun," Arlan said. "But anyways, I am glad our black dragon is safe," and he looked at Oriana beside him. "Just because my sweet wife came to help just on time."
Oriana didn’t comment, but he could tell she was clearly relieved to her arch enemy alive.
Meanwhile, Solaris talked to Ember, who didn’t seem like she was ever going to leave Draven’s side. "Deity of Fire, I know you are angry, but we are here to help."
"The one who stayed quiet in the past and let the unjust happen has no right to act so concerned now," she looked at him, her eyes still furious. "Too much for the pretense, isn’t it, Lord Solaris?"
"Though I am the Emperor, I have no place meddling in one’s destiny," he said calmly. "But I look forward to everyone learning from their mistakes instead of letting the strength of their powers rule their minds and making the three realms peaceful places to live."
Ember looked away as she mumbled, "Hypocrites and bloody liars."
Solaris smiled lightly at her reaction, "Living in mortal worlds, sure have added some different mannerism. Should I be amused?"
Ember didn’t comment or she was sure she would use more curses and it wouldn’t look good.
Not minding her anger, Solaris used his powers on Draven. Slowly, the purest divine powers circled him and his body was lifted into the air. "I am taking him to the healing chamber."
With that, Solaris, Grianor, and Draven disappeared from there.
Ember felt restless to see Draven gone.
"You can go there as well," Drayvor assured her. "He is safe with them."
She turned to Morpheus. "I want to go there."
Morpheus carried her in his arms and flew away, and the other deities left as well after being assured that the God of War was safe and sound.
Arlan looked at Drayce. "Want to stay with your parents here, or want to be a good son and leave them alone for a while?"
Drayce turned and walked away, while Arlan held Oriana’s hand and followed him.
Oriana used her powers, and the three of them disappeared from there.
Meanwhile, Drayvor turned to Evanthe. "Want me to take you there as well?"
"I can manage," she said awkwardly and turned to leave without even looking at him.
But the next moment, darkness surrounded her and she was stopped in her place. She frowned and turned to look back at him, who was just a few steps away from her.
"What are you doing?" she asked, her tone displeased.
"Do you know the way back?" he asked. "Maybe take a look around and also realise you are not the Deity of Water to use your immense powers here."
She looked around and realised that, other than the mountains ranged around, there was never-ending snow-covered ground. There was no way out from here; no direction could even be concluded to go in.
She looked for someone and realised Solaris, who had brought her here, had left her alone. "That idiot! Left without me."
No one was in her sight. All of them left just like that?
"If you want to give it a try, go ahead. I will wait for you here," Drayvor said calmly, his gaze amused.
Evanthe thought about what he said and realised quickly not to be oversmart at this moment.
"Take me to the healing chamber," she said. It was not a request but her instruction for him.
His expression remained as calm as ever, while the darkness around her held her steady and pulled her back to him, leaving barely any distance between them.
Startled, she put her hands against his chest in defiance. "What are you doing?"
"What do you think?" he asked, his red eyes locked with her caramel ones.
Awkward and hesitant with the closeness, she looked away and said, "I have a husband back in the human realm. You should respect the boundaries with a married woman."
"This is not the human realm," he told her, "and we crossed certain boundaries already when you were married to that human."
She gritted her teeth and looked at him, her eyes filled with anger. "Who told you to make that absurd demand in exchange for lifting a curse?"
"Will you say the same while looking at our son?" he asked.
Evanthe felt speechless. That absurd demand of his was the reason she had her son. How could she call her son’s existence absurd? She lowered her gaze, having nothing to say.
"I am taking you there," Drayvor told her, not probing her further, and both of them disappeared from there.
Despite not being able to be together, the fact would never change that they were soulmates and would remain connected to each other till eternity.
