Chapter 816: Offer To Regain Evanthe’s Memories

Ember and Morpheus arrived at the healing chamber where the celestial guards were standing outside. The moment they saw Ember, they moved away and let her and Morpheus enter.

Inside, Solaris was transferring his divine power to Draven, who was laid on the divine stone platform. Grianor stood at the side, assisting Solaris by checking on Draven.

Ember didn’t disturb them and stood aside, watching Draven, who seemed unconscious after doing his best to stay awake for his mate’s sake. The hellfire, though it had not harmed him gravely, had clearly shaken his core.

Once done, Solaris turned to Ember. "He will recover soon. You have to let him stay here for a day at least."

Her expression soured at the thought of staying here any longer, but she stayed quiet, her eyes only on her mate.

Morpheus felt relieved to know Draven was fine, but another worry gripped his mind. It had already been almost more than one day here in the heaven realm since they arrived, while so much time would have passed in the mortal world.

What must be happening there in our absence? He hoped everything was fine when they returned.

Drayvor and Evanthe arrived outside the healing chamber as well. She quickly separated herself from him, and Drayvor let her go. The guards outside lowered their heads to bow to them and stepped aside, none daring to meet the eyes of the Lord of Darkness.

If they could, they would have disappeared from there—that was the kind of weight the Lord of Darkness carried.

Evanthe walked ahead to enter the healing chamber, but then stopped and looked at him to see if he was going to follow her inside.

"I can’t enter the healing chamber. My darkness can taint the purity of its divine energy," he answered her unspoken question.

Draven and the other two of his friends were dragons as well, but they had divine powers along with absolute darkness, and in the heaven realm—especially inside the healing chamber—their divine power suppressed their darkness so it wouldn’t taint the chamber.

But Drayvor was everything about the most powerful darkness, and it was strong enough to suppress any other power.

"At least here you won’t follow me." She showed she was relieved and walked inside without even turning to look at him.

Drayvor remained rooted in his place, his gaze fixed on her until she disappeared behind the door of the healing chamber.

She has always been good at holding grudges, Drayvor thought. Always so willful.

Evanthe entered the healing chamber where Solaris and Grianor were about to leave, while Ember stood by Draven, holding his burnt hand in hers. It was getting better; she thought this way she would fasten the healing.

Evanthe offered a respectful bow to them and turned to Morpheus. "How is he?"

"Fine, but he will have to spend some time here," he responded, explaining some more.

She let out a sigh of relief and said, "You two have to accompany him here, while I am planning to return to the human realm. We left when everything was already chaos there thanks to these deities, and they all must be worried about us."

Morpheus hummed. "I am also worried if everything’s fine there in our absence."

"Don’t worry. I will take care of it," she said and went to Draven. "I know you can hear me. Rest assured about the kingdom. I will head back there to take care of things."

Offering a nod to Morpheus, she turned to leave, while Solaris, who had been quietly observing his daughter who acted like a stranger, followed her out, where Drayvor was still present outside.

"Are you going to treat your father like a complete stranger, Evanthe?" Solaris said.

She stopped and looked at him, her expression calm. She offered him a respectful nod again and then said, "Lord Solaris the Divine, I have no reason to intentionally treat you as a stranger. But if you are aware of my situation, I have no memories of my past life, so I am not sure how to not consider you or anyone else here a stranger. To me, this entire heaven realm is a stranger place. The only people I know as mine are those from the human realm, and the place my real home belongs is in the human realm as well."

"Always so rightful with your words and actions that one can’t even dare fault you," Solaris said, as a light smile painted his lips, pride in his eyes for his daughter.

Evanthe didn’t comment on it and said, "Thank you for taking care of my friends and helping us. We will forever be grateful to you. But now it’s time for me to return to my world and take care of my people. Please allow me."

Drayvor and Grianor simply stayed quiet on the side, unsure how to stop her.

"What happened in the past, it was all what Isis had planned against you to banish you from the heaven realm," Grianor finally said. "That human, you meddled in his death—it was her planning, and you were punished for no reason." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

She looked at him. "I am not sure what you are talking about, and I do not wish to know anything. I am happy with the current reality of my life."

Grianor had no more words to say, as she had always been the most stubborn person one could ever know.

Solaris remained calm, despite knowing his daughter had no wish to return to him. And he knew well she was right in her place.

"As it was not your fault, your punishment will be recalled," Solaris said. "You will regain all your powers and memories."

Evanthe remained resolute in her stance. "My apologies, but I have to decline your mercy," she said and looked over her shoulder at Drayvor. "There is someone in the human realm who is still waiting for me."

Then she looked back at her father. "If I regain all my memories from the heaven realm, I am afraid it won’t be fair to him, as I wouldn’t be the same woman he has been waiting for. That human, my husband—I can’t be unfair to him when I return. I want to be the same woman he has always known."

As she said it, no one dared speak in their defence.

One thing was clear, she was determined to return to her human husband.
