The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 289: Kera.
"We will continue watching him for any further developments, but he’s expected to wake up in a few days so you don’t have to worry..."
Shikera found it hard following the doctor’s words, as she was feeling extremely sleepy and Ethan’s shoulder which she was resting on was not helping matters. It felt like the perfect pillow for her to rest.
"You can sleep more if you want," she heard Ethan’s voice, but shook her head in reply.
"I’m alright." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Followed by Noah, they walked out of the doctor’s office to Liam’s private ward which was situated in the most secluded area of the hospital.
Ethan pulled open the door for Shikera to enter when Noah spoke up.
"Ethan, can I speak to Shikera for a few? She’ll be with you before you can say Jack," he said, pulling Shikera by her hand to himself.
"Jack," Ethan stated. "There, can she come back with me now?" he asked.
Noah was speechless for a few seconds as he stared at Ethan, "Alright. Five minutes and she’ll be back," he promised.
Ethan agreed this time around and released Shikera’s other hand to enter the room, leaving the siblings outside the door.
"What’s wrong?" Shikera asked as soon as she heard the door close behind her.
"I got the contract drawn," Noah informed her. He tucked his hand into his back pocket and brought out a neatly folded paper.
"That’s it?" Shikera asked, her brows drawn up in surprise. There was evident relief in her voice at the fact that she could finally stop hiding her pregnancy from Ethan.
"It has everything you can use to counter the contract the old men signed. There’s the term that states all the shares you have access to in Anderson Corp goes to Ethan as long as you get pregnant while married to him; there’s another that states you bear the responsibility for any harm your pregnancy causes. Do you want me to continue?" Noah asked.
"Nah, it’s alright. This will be good enough," Shikera replied, beaming widely. "Thanks, Noah!"
Nodding nonchalantly, Noah waved his hands as he spoke, "It’s my duty. Just go meet your husband before he says the five minutes are up."
"No, I won’t. I want to stay with my big brother today. How about we have ice cream?"
Noah’s eyes brightened at the sudden sparkle he spotted in Shikera’s eyes like that of a child who was set allowed to go for a picnic with his other school mates. He didn’t bother resisting when she began to pull him away from their father’s room to the general lobby of the hospital.
"What flavor of ice cream would you like?"
"Chocolate," Shikera replied, a teasing smile on her face. She added, "Been a while since I had one."

Two days passed within a twinkle of an eye with no development on Liam’s health. More than three times a day, a doctor would come to the room along with a train of nurses and check him out but the results were still the same and their comments were always the same.
"He’s expected to wake up soon as long as no unexpected problem pops up," they would say.
Shikera continued to insist on staying in the room so Ethan had no choice but to stay, while Noah was always asleep on the extra bed in the room.
His excuse?
"I might get called up for a mission sooner or later. Y’all don’t want to be responsible for your country’s invasion, right?"
Shikera left him all to himself whenever he gave that excuse, while Ethan never really bothered him. The latter was always buried in one work or another anyway.
It was the case presently as Shikera was sitting up on the extra bed beside the sleeping Noah, while reading a novel she had borrowed from one of the nurses.
Ethan was sitting on the couch with his laptop on the table before him, his hands flying over the keyboard.
"Are you busy?" Shikera broke the silence in the room to ask a question whose answer she already knew.
"Do you need something?" Ethan asked back.
"Nope." She looked up from the book she was reading to meet his gaze. "You remember we played a game back on the island? You said you’ll give me an hour of your time...as my prize."
Ethan raised his brow, a mischievous glint flickering across his dark eyes.
"I can’t remember. What game exactly was that?" he teased.
"The game where we—" Shikera stopped talking the moment she noticed the slight raise at the corner of his lips, and she glared at him. "Stop that, Ethan."
"Of course, I remember," Ethan muttered. "If it happened any other time, I might have forgotten but I have never and would never forget even the most tiny details of what happens while we’re—"
"Okay! Noah’s here," Shikera cut him off.
"Who cares?" Ethan chuckled, but kept his mouth shut immediately after Shikera’s warning. He asked, "Why did you ask if I remembered? You want us to play another?"
"Your wish," Shikera replied, rolling her eyes.
"Then...?"
"When daddy wakes up, can you make out time for me then? I want to use my prize."
Ethan nodded, "Anything you want."
"Don’t you dare go back on your words and say you have to go home, alright?"
"I won’t dare to," Ethan replied.
The ward fell silent again and Shikera went back to reading her books while Ethan shut his laptop, already distracted.
"Will you come sit over here, Kera?" he called.
Shikera looked up with a confused gaze, not because of Ethan’s request but because he had shortened her name. It was suspicious.
"Why?" she asked.
"Just nothing. You should leave the bed to Noah. He’s been looking tired for these past few days," Ethan lied. Anything to get her off that bed to his side.
As expected, Shikera left the bed immediately she heard that. She walked across the room towards Ethan when a voice stopped her,
"Is this how easy you can be tricked, Shikera?"
