The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 338: You’re Getting Married?
"They have no expectations of me, and don’t mind what I do with my life, as long as I don’t reveal my brother’s face behind the mask or speak of my sister in public. I am simply constantly reminded not to worry about my life or my future since they’ve got it all sorted for me," he paused for a few seconds, letting his words sink in. "But that changed when I met you. I didn’t want their hands in my life, and wanted to sort it all by myself instead. Your expectations give me the assurance that I’m not as useless as I used to think. There’s someone who wants me, and who needs me to do this and this because my life getting better will affect her; will make her happy." Lowering his voice into a whisper, he added, "Don’t tell anyone. But if you need me to snatch the Corporation from Ethan and make you the CEOs’ wife, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve that I can use." He chuckled, getting serious all of a sudden. "I don’t care how we started anymore, Ruthlyn, what matters is where we’re going." He opened the box, revealing a delicate ring that glistened under the night sky. "I want to be engaged to you for real this time, not because we have to, but because I choose you and you want me. Will you marry me, Ruthlyn?"
Ruthlyn stood frozen for a moment, her heart pounding. She thought of their journey together, the awkward beginnings, the friction, the unexpected tenderness that had bloomed between them over time. They had stumbled into love, and now here they were.
Tears, genuine ones, welled in her eyes as she looked at Enoch, his face so open, so sincere. She hadn’t expected his long speech, just like she hadn’t expected any of it.
"Yes," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "Yes, Young Master DeLoach who thinks it’s easy to snatch a whole Corporation, I’ll marry you."
With a relieved grin, Enoch slid the ring onto her finger, pulling her into a tight embrace. Ruthlyn burst into a loud laughter, the tension between them dissolving into warmth and joy, their hearts finally aligned.
This time, it was no arranged engagement. This time, it was love.

Shikera listened with a bored expression as Jordan and Krystal droned on with endless instructions on how to comport herself for the next few days until the D-Day. The only person she was interested in listening to was Ethan sitting right beside her, but since he wasn’t saying anything, she decided to content himself with simply staring at him.
Having an handsome husband was a form of therapy on its own.
"Are you even listening, Shikera Anderson?!" Krystal’s sharp voice broke her concentration, and she had to drag her gaze up to listen. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"What? Ethan is listening already, why do I also need to?" she rolled her eyes.
"Because I feel like you’re the one with absolute authority here?" Krystal scoffed, "Miss Anderson, I only have two instructions for you to abide by. No matter what happens, you are not expected to go against it or your babies will be in danger. And yes, I know I shouldn’t spell it out like that, but I can’t risk you going against what Jordan just said."
Her face contorting into a petulant frown, Shikera looked from Krystal, to Jordan, and finally to Ethan, wondering why no one was saying anything.
"Ethan, did you see that? She just told me—"
Krystal cut her off, "Of course he heard what I just told you. He’s just not saying anything because he supports it."
Shikera rolled her eyes.
"Okay, listening."
"Great. You said you’ll be needing just three hours for the show, right?"
She nodded.
"That’s good. So first instruction, you won’t be allowed to leave the hospital excluding the day of the show. And even then, you have to be back within five hours so we can start preparing you," Krystal stated. The sharp widening of Shikera’s eyes didn’t stop her from adding, "That’s not negotiable. And as for the second instruction, your dad requested that we let you eat whatever food—processed or not— that you feel like, except ice cream. Won’t you scream in excitement?"
"Maybe I would have if I heard it first but what do you mean I can’t go out? I have to stay cooped up here like I’m waiting for my..." she trailed off, and the word ’death’ caught in her throat. Feeling Ethan’s eyes on her, she substituted, "...for my surgery. You have any idea how many meetings I have to attend to make sure the show is executed perfectly without any hitches and disturbances?" she asked.
Ethan was the one who replied her, "You can attend the meetings virtually. It’s for the best."
"Y’all already decided behind me. If I wasn’t going to have a say in the decision then you should have sent the instructions in an email instead," she scoffed, turning away from them.
"Kera..." Ethan started.
"Don’t call me that, Mister, if you know you aren’t gonna go all the way," she teased.
Before any of the two doctors in the room could ask what she meant, the door was pushed open and an excited scream rented the atmosphere.
"Guess what, Kera?!!!"
Shikera sat up immediately, recognizing the voice as Cyprian’s.
"Thank goodness," she sighed dramatically, "The only person who loves me is finally here."
Totally overlooking the other people in the room, Cyprian rushed straight to the bed Shikera was lying on.
"Guess what?!" she yelled.
Shikera squinted her eyes, feigning absolute concentration. She hummed for the next few seconds like one lost in thought, before finally making the wildest guess ever.
"You are getting married?"
As she was expecting a firm ’NO’ in reply to her guess, Shikera’s eyes almost fell out of their sockets when the reply she got instead was, "Oh my goodness! How did you know that?"
