The Golden Lord has a perverted SSS-rank summoning system!-Chapter 68: Beast of the Night (02)
The burial of the four bodies did not take long.
One of the elders said a brief prayer, and the adventurers were laid to rest in the Goldenveil cemetery, along with all their belongings.
There was even one item that caught Ethan’s eye: a Rank B sword belonging to the young man who had led the group, but he suppressed his own greed.
He was an honorable Lord, not a cheap bandit.
The sword was buried alongside the young man, and after everything was finished, Ethan ordered Doran to gather the hunters at the barracks, then went to see his wives.
He already had a plan to deal with the wolf, and with Alice’s help, that plan would be much easier to carry out.
The beast was intelligent, but it was still an animal, and in the end, there are few things predators love more than easy prey, just as there are few things they fear more than flames.
With a broad smile, Ethan returned to the mansion.
Alice was already preparing dinner, and Evelyn, having calmed her pulse, was leaning lazily against a bench, her lungs still expanding with labored breaths.
The sweat trickling down between her huge tanned boobs made it clear she had been training while he was away, her hands resting relaxed over her cleavage, fingers sinking lightly into the creamy skin.
"Oh... look who’s back!" Evelyn’s eyes sparkled, and she quickly stood up, raising her arms above her head in a lazy stretch.
The two had left the room while Ethan was still out, so they knew nothing.
"What’s the matter? Can’t you even last a few minutes without your man?" Ethan laughed, pulling Evelyn into his embrace and letting his palm land on her voluptuous ass with a firm slap.
Her flesh rippled under the impact, the shockwave rolling through her curves and an involuntary moan escaping her lips.
Ethan savored that moan, but soon his expression turned serious.
"Ah~ Did something happen?" Evelyn asked, still flushed but noticing the shift in his gaze.
Alice stepped away from the pots upon hearing that, turning her beautiful porcelain face toward Ethan, her pink lips curving with concern.
"A corrupted mana beast has appeared and attacked some adventurers. We have to kill it before it causes damage to Goldenveil."
"Oh..." Evelyn’s lips parted in understanding, while something heavy settled in Alice’s chest.
"Are you going to put yourself in danger again?" the golden-haired beauty asked, drawing a sigh from Ethan.
"Yes, but I won’t go alone." He gently stroked her hair. "How’s the Sea of Flames spell? Can you use it yet?"
"I’ve read everything, but I haven’t tried using it yet. I think I can."
"Alright, let’s run a test. If you can pull it off, it’ll make things a lot easier for us." Ethan smiled, wrapping an arm around Alice’s slender waist and leading them both to the garden at the back of the mansion.
The space was about seven hundred square meters, more than enough for a test.
"Do you have control over the shape?" he asked.
Honestly, he hadn’t even considered the possibility of Alice failing.
She was an S-Rank talent, and if she focused her mind, she could probably use that ability with sheer willpower and raw mana alone, without needing any formal knowledge.
That was the talent of an S-Rank. They had superior minds and bodies, fate itself bowing before every step they took. Failure, in the end, was for the talentless.
"Hm... I think so. What do you want me to do?"
"Something like a box, with walls of fire and a single opening."
Alice was confused for a moment, but she thought briefly and nodded, her beautiful face set with determination.
Her hands opened, palms facing the ground.
Immediately, the mana around her shuddered, her colossal mana reserves surging like a tide.
"Burn..." Her voice echoed, sweet and serene, yet carrying an intent that made her feel like a goddess of war given form.
In the next instant, the world around her burst into flames.
Walls of golden fire rose gloriously, sealing off the entire space except for the spot where she stood, leaving only an opening of about two meters.
The heat pulsed against Ethan’s skin, and he found himself gasping involuntarily.
Alice was, honestly, incredible.
With the proper training and without her naivety she could easily become a war machine capable of wiping out entire armies on her own.
Of course, he would never force such a fate upon her. He wanted his sweet, naive, gentle Alice, not some cold goddess of war.
"I-is it enough to be useful to husband?" she asked, her beautiful face glowing with anxiety, lips trembling slightly.
With a gentle motion, the sea of flames ceased, leaving behind only the blackened ground.
"Yes, love, more than enough! Hahaha!" Ethan roared with laughter, pulling Alice into an embrace and taking her lips in a kiss.
Even Evelyn watched it all with genuine shock.
She knew Alice’s talent with mana was great, but that was too powerful to be simply called "great."
In the end, Evelyn was happy for Alice, because the stronger the two of them were, the better their chances of protecting that idiot husband of theirs from getting himself killed in some useless battle.
"Ah~ hehehe~" Alice let out a sweet giggle as her lips parted from Ethan’s. "Dinner is ready. Do you want to eat now?"
"When we get back." Ethan looked up at the sky. It hadn’t fully darkened yet, so they still had time to plan. "I told Doran to gather the Goldenveil hunters. We need to prepare to kill that damn beast as soon as possible."
Silently, Alice nodded and walked alongside Evelyn, accompanying Their Man.
Doran had acted quickly, gathering all the hunters and city guards. Work outside the wall had been halted, and an order had been issued: no one was to leave until further notice from the Lord.
That heightened anxiety among the citizens, but in the end, everyone waited in silence.
Whatever their Lord decided, they were certain it would be the best choice for them.
