Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Arthur Grant Wants to Fire Yvette Aston

"Since you can’t provide proof, then my apologies." Ethan Grant stopped wasting words on May Larson and got into the car.

This May Larson, her reaction was very strange.

The driver drove away.

It took May Larson a while to react, and she began to curse loudly.

Caden Summers rubbed his ears. "Stop cursing, mom, don’t you think you’re very biased?"

May Larson turned around and cursed at Caden as well.

"Is Yvette really our family’s child?" Caden frowned, questioning. "Sometimes I wonder if you’re out of your mind? Yvette is my sister, your daughter. How did you treat Charlotte back then? You were eager to kneel down to be good to her. Does she remember your kindness?"

Seeing May Larson remain silent, Caden spoke again. "Or do you think that after flattering the real Aston family daughter for twenty-one years, once she returns to the Aston family, she’ll remember your kindness and give you money?"

Caden sneered sarcastically. "And Yvette, because she’s your biological daughter, no matter how you treat her, she won’t run away, so you hurt her without restraint?"

"Hurt?" May Larson’s eyes reddened, and after sending off relatives, she pulled Caden inside.

May Larson glanced around to make sure no one was there, then she took a check out of her bag. "Have you seen this much money before?"

"Where did it come from?" Caden’s expression darkened.

"Do you know Arthur Grant? The chairman of the Grant Group, Ethan Grant’s father." May Larson put the check away. "He gave me this money to get Yvette married off."

"Yvette’s reputation is ruined, how many decent men are willing to marry her? I’m trying to be good to her by marrying her off, so she can live peacefully and not attract these wealthy people! These rich people can make us disappear as easily as playing!"

May Larson thought Caden was still too naive. "Besides, Arthur Grant said that as long as Yvette is married off and no longer entangling his son, after it’s done he’ll give an additional two hundred thousand! Although it’s not much, five hundred thousand is enough to buy a small house in the central area. I have to think about you, you’re getting old and still don’t have a partner."

"Do you think I don’t know? Over the years, your third aunt has set you up with quite a few matches, hasn’t she? They all think you have a mother who’s been in prison and then Yvette’s child is a burden as well," May Larson said quietly. "You’re my son, I have to consider for you."

"Besides, don’t you trust your third aunt? Could she find an unsuitable family for Yvette? It definitely has to be a rich family first." May Larson sat nearby, thinking her son could understand her.

"Return the money." Caden’s face darkened as he went to grab May Larson’s bag. "Do you still think you haven’t spent enough time in prison and want to go back in?"

May Larson reached out to grab back. "What nonsense are you talking about, this was given to me voluntarily!"

"Have you forgotten how Yvette was falsely accused and imprisoned by them!" Caden shouted angrily.

May Larson was momentarily stunned, obviously frightened. "Then... what should we do?"

Back then, it was because Jayden Grant and the Aston Family created the false accusations in the real and fake daughter case, they respectively made deposits into Yvette’s account, then accused her of extortion and blackmail, and even presented so-called WeChat conversation evidence.

Those evidences were all fabricated by Stellan Aston and Jayden Grant hacking into Yvette’s WeChat account.

And Yvette, in her despair, accepted the charges, which led to her being jailed under false accusations.

"If these rich people want to mess with us, do you think we have any chance?" Caden’s voice trembled. "You’re really such a disappointment, being in prison for so many years without any improvement!"

May Larson’s voice started to tremble. "Are you saying he wants to take advantage by giving me money and then accuse me of extortion and blackmail?"

"Money obtained without proper justification is extortion and blackmail!" Caden intimidated May Larson.

May Larson sat on the sofa, her face ashen. "I don’t believe it, this was willingly given by him, don’t scare me."

"Return it tomorrow!" Caden demanded May Larson to return the money to Arthur Grant. "If you won’t go, I’ll go myself."

After speaking, Caden took the check to leave.

"Stop right there!"

Caden simply ignored her.

"Everyone’s turning the world upside down!" May Larson cried and shouted loudly.

Caden was not indulging her.

...

Ethan Grant’s house.

Ethan Grant brought Yvette and Summers home, not returning to the hotel.

Since Arthur Grant compromised by turning to May Larson, he wouldn’t continue blocking his door at home.

"I ordered some desserts, would you like to have a late-night snack?" Ethan Grant crouched in front of Yvette, softly asking her.

"I’m sorry..." Yvette nervously clutched her clothes.

In those five years in prison, what she learned was almost carved into her bones — humility.

"Why apologize?" Ethan Grant asked softly.

"I... my family’s matters... I’m afraid they’ll implicate you." Yvette wasn’t stupid, she couldn’t understand why May Larson, just out of prison, had to marry her off.

"I don’t know if someone approached her..." Yvette looked at Ethan Grant nervously. "I don’t really know May Larson. If she exploits me for profit and hurts you..."

"Am I that weak?" Ethan Grant laughed helplessly. "With her ability, it’s unlikely she could hurt me. What I’m afraid of is them hurting you."

Yvette bit her lip, her eyes reddened, unable to speak.

"Don’t worry about it. As long as she can’t provide evidence to prove the mother-child relationship, you just need to deny it. Someone like her doesn’t deserve to be your mother." Ethan Grant pulled Yvette into his arms. "You have me; this is your home, you don’t need to go back."

Yvette gripped her clothes tightly, looking at Ethan Grant. "Okay..."

Board meeting.

"Chairman Grant, what’s going on with Ethan?"

"The project is halfway through, can’t he come back? Is it for health reasons or?" Someone from the board was already losing patience.

Obviously, after these days’ assessments, these people found that Jayden Grant was indeed not as talented as Ethan Grant.

Perhaps Jayden Grant had decent capabilities, already considered outstanding among wealthy second generations.

But with Ethan Grant as a comparison, he could never come out on top.

Jayden’s face went dark, he gripped his pen tightly.

"Hasn’t brother already returned?" Jayden deliberately asked.

Arthur Grant’s face darkened. "Perhaps there’s traffic on the way, let’s wait for him."

Arthur Grant was giving Ethan Grant one last chance.

Today’s board meeting was informed to Ethan by Christopher Carter on Arthur’s orders.

And... he had made further preparations.

"Chairman Grant, there’s a woman named May Larson causing a scene at the front of the company, saying she’s looking for her daughter, claiming her daughter works in our company." From the door, the security manager ran in anxiously.

Arthur Grant sneered, pretending not to recognize her. "Who is her daughter? What position?"

"She says the name is Yvette, she’s Mr. Grant... the CEO assistant." The manager hurriedly spoke.

People in the board meeting all turned grim-faced. "Has our company become a place for shrews to make a scene? If not, shall we have HR fire her?"

"Manager Lilith Larson said Yvette is the CEO assistant, firing her requires the CEO’s approval..." Security personnel spoke again. "That woman is too troublesome, causing chaos and has already disrupted the company’s operations, and that Yvette’s mother brought several women to make trouble, claiming they have heart disease and high blood pressure, we daren’t touch them..."

Arthur Grant’s face darkened. "Tell HR to fire Yvette! I’m the chairman of Grant Group; do I need Ethan Grant’s consent to fire someone?"
