The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 1946 - 1945: White Mist
The white mist began to thicken, and visibility gradually reduced to just over ten meters.
The ground beneath was all black rock, with no vegetation growing, as if they had entered a stretch of desert terrain.
Without the Divine Sense, it felt a bit unfamiliar. Ling Feng, holding the God Slayer Saber, said in a deep voice to the two women behind him, "Everyone, don’t rush. Be careful of being attacked!"
No response!
Ling Feng looked back, but there was no trace of Ito Shizuka and Xiang Zelan!
"Damn it!"
Cursing inwardly, Ling Feng then realized he was right earlier; this third terrain really wasn’t that simple!
Frowning, he pondered for a moment, realizing that he hadn’t heard any shouting from the two women since the beginning. This suggested that they might not have encountered danger, or they might have wandered far in the mist.
So he didn’t shout, but instead grasped his saber and proceeded forward cautiously.
With his mind highly focused, he could hear his breathing and heartbeat quite clearly, and he advanced at a normal walking pace.
Suddenly, he saw the white mist in front sway, as if something was rushing at him, so he immediately lowered his head and raised the saber blade!
"Whoosh!"
A dark, massive object rushed straight at him, and Ling Feng didn’t hesitate to meet it with a slash of the blade beam!
"Screech!"
The massive object was struck by the blade beam, immediately tearing open a gash, followed by a tremendous roar! 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Ling Feng looked up; the sound came from over ten meters above. It seemed that what he had hit was the tail of a giant beast!
It had tried to attack him with its tail, but instead, it was slashed open by the God Slayer Saber, and naturally roared in pain!
Ling Feng hadn’t been wrong. After the roar, he felt a tremor in the ground, followed by the thundering sound of huge footsteps.
Unable to see the environment around, Ling Feng could only judge the monster’s position by following the direction the mist scattered.
This tested one’s reaction speed. Seeing the cloud of white mist rushing towards him, Ling Feng sidestepped it, then advanced with the saber blade!
With a squelch, he felt the blade embed into something, and Ling Feng charged forward with the saber blade!
After advancing over ten meters, the blade again tore through something, finally finding emptiness.
A roar resounded in the sky once more, and Ling Feng noticed the mist overhead cascade down. Alarmed, he dashed sideways immediately!
This one burst sent him dozens of meters out. Behind him came a crashing sound, and the mist scattered, revealing an open area the size of a football field.
Upon closer inspection, Ling Feng saw a bizarrely-shaped creature lying on the ground, its massive form sending a shockwave, thereby dispersing the white mist.
Seizing the opportunity before the mist gathered again, Ling Feng quickly surveyed the surroundings, spotting another giant beast not far ahead exceeding twenty meters in height, and instantly leapt towards it!
As he approached, the mist thickened again.
But Ling Feng had found the trick, so he began slashing wildly with the God Slayer Saber amidst the mist, the blade light splattering, always landing hits on the monster.
After several screams, the colossal form collapsed with a boom, dispersing another large swathe of mist.
This time, Ling Feng didn’t wait, leaping directly, reaching over ten meters in the air.
Once again, he surveyed the environment, spotting a splash of dark green a kilometer away, and instantly felt assured!
Then, after landing, he immediately charged towards that direction!
The mist was completely ignored. Charging forward while sending out blade beams, listening for cries of pain to adjust the path, and in this manner, Ling Feng quickly burst out of the mist’s range!
Out of the ambiguous environment, he exhaled in relief and looked ahead.
That splash of dark green was just as he thought — a dense forest!
According to the woman’s voice earlier, this was the final location, and upon crossing it, they would reach the Golden Coast.
However, Ling Feng didn’t rush into the forest, as he hadn’t seen Ito Shizuka or Xiang Zelan yet!
After all, they were companions; Ling Feng didn’t want to leave them and abandon them here.
Since he was already ahead, waiting a bit wouldn’t hurt.
So Ling Feng sat at the forest’s edge and waited quietly.
After half an hour passed, a figure burst through the mist; it was Ito Shizuka!
Seeing Ling Feng sitting there, she widened her eyes, "Why aren’t you moving on from here?"
"I’m waiting for you all!"
Ling Feng smiled, then asked, "Where’s Xiang Zelan?"
"I have no idea, we got separated upon entering the mist!"
Ito Shizuka said, taking a step forward, "We’ve already got the lead, don’t you want to secure the Ghost Dragon?"
"I do, but I’m not in a hurry. I need to ensure your safety first!" Ling Feng replied.
"What are you thinking?"
Always a bit displeased, Ito Shizuka suddenly couldn’t hold her temper, annoyedly saying, "The mission is about the Ghost Dragon. Can’t you set your goals straight?"
"Completion is a goal, but teammates’ safety is also my responsibility, it’s perfectly normal!"
Ling Feng looked at her, smiling as he said, "I’m not someone who disregards means to an end!"
"..."
Ito Shizuka was left speechless, then reminded him, "Instead of wasting time here, it’d be better to rush forward. Once the mission ends, this space will dissipate naturally, and even if trapped, we can leave!"
"But if you wait here, and Xiang Zelan gets caught by a monster, since you wasted time, what if she dies in your face?"
"Uh..."
At this, Ling Feng fell silent.
Because she wasn’t wrong, just waiting around wasn’t exactly a good strategy!
So Ling Feng nodded, stood up, and said, "Then let’s wait for another ten minutes. If we don’t see her by then, we’ll move on!"
"..."
Ito Shizuka was left without words, helplessly shook her head, "You wait, then. I’m going ahead!"
"Wait, Xiang Zelan is also your friend, don’t you care about her safety?" Ling Feng reached out and grabbed Ito Shizuka’s wrist.
"I know she’ll be fine. Right now, my biggest concern is the Ghost Dragon’s outcome!" Ito Shizuka stated.
Ling Feng sighed, giving her a serious look, "You really are a Dongying person, just like those people, saying all kinds of nice things but only wanting results!"
"You!"
Ito Shizuka’s face turned red, glaring at him, "Fine, I won’t go then, I’ll wait with you!"
Ling Feng chuckled, shrugging his shoulders, "Ten minutes isn’t long, don’t worry!"
Ito Shizuka: "..."
The time passed second by second, and soon it reached ten minutes. From within the mist came shouting and roaring of monsters, Ito Shizuka’s eyes widened, "Miyagi Rikio and the others have caught up. Aren’t you going?"
