This morning, Ling Feng was a bit busy. He roasted a wild rabbit for Wang Cai to fill its belly, and then placed the previously caught pheasants and rabbits into the breeding cages, replenishing their food before returning to the front yard.

Though the Taming Technique had helped, these wild animals had become very obedient and did not think about escaping or causing trouble, but the concern was their growth rate after a few days of feeding.

Wild animals naturally grow slowly, and even when he used his own grains to feed them, he didn’t see much effect.

If he was counting on selling their offspring for money, it probably wouldn’t happen until next year.

Ling Feng pondered that this wasn’t a solution, but he didn’t know what to do as the Classic of the Divine Farmer seemingly didn’t mention anything about quickly fattening animals.

While thinking, he haphazardly ate something, preparing for Li Shiyun’s arrival.

They had agreed last night to continue researching how to cultivate mushrooms today, and that thought overwhelmingly occupied his mind.

After extinguishing the fire at the entrance and cleaning up the remaining charcoal, Ling Feng was about to go back inside when he saw two figures approaching from a distance.

One of them was the widow Guihua from the village, and the other was slender and slim, looking like her daughter Huaihua!

Ling Feng rubbed his eyes, confirming that the girl indeed was Huaihua, and immediately his eyes widened in surprise!

This young lady, since starting high school, rarely appeared in the village and would only come back during winter and summer holidays. Occasionally, when she visited the village’s convenience store to buy things, one could catch a glimpse of her.

By now, she should be a junior in college, shouldn’t she?

Could that snotty little girl who used to follow behind him have grown into such a beauty?

Ling Feng stood at the door, unmoving, staring in that direction. As the two approached, he became more certain that the visitors were Guihua and her daughter.

His gaze stopped briefly on Guihua’s face before shifting to Huaihua, unable to look away!

They say a woman changes eighteen times between childhood and adulthood. He hadn’t noticed it when she was a child, but she had grown so beautiful!

Before the mother and daughter reached him, Huaihua looked up, saw Ling Feng standing at the door, and immediately lowered her head, stopping in her tracks, unwilling to come closer!

Guihua turned around, "Come on, didn’t we agree on this?"

"Mom, maybe I shouldn’t go?" Huaihua said with a downcast gaze, fiddling with the corner of her clothes, a troubled look on her face.

But Guihua immediately became upset: "Not going? Do you have to go to the city? How expensive is it there? Where would I get the money for your medical treatment?"

"But, but I..."

"What’s with you and me, hurry up and go! Ling Feng is not an outsider, what’s there to be shy about?" Guihua scolded and went forward, grabbing her daughter’s hand and coming this way.

Ling Feng had already understood; they were coming to him for medical help!

Huaihua must have contracted some kind of embarrassing ailment, or something she didn’t want a man to see, which would explain her reluctance.

With that thought, a slight smile played at the corner of his mouth. As the mother and daughter approached, he asked with a smile, "What’s the matter, Auntie?"

"Ling Feng, it’s good that you’re home today. This girl feels unwell, I’m troubled and hope you can take a look," Guihua said.

"Brother Ling Feng."

Huaihua kept her head low, her complexion slightly reddened, the embarrassment and timidity on her face easily evoked a sense of affection.

Seeing this, Ling Feng smiled: "It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you. I didn’t expect you to have changed so much. Come inside and we’ll talk."

Once inside, Ling Feng asked them to sit down, then inquired: "Huaihua, what’s wrong with you?"

With her face growing red, Huaihua remained silent with her head down. Guihua, seeing this, nudged her, "You dumb girl, why don’t you speak up? If you don’t, shall I?"

"Don’t!"

Huaihua looked like a startled little rabbit as she quickly raised her head, and then, biting her lip, she said to her, "Mom, can you step out for a moment?"

"Fine, fine, just hurry up, so I don’t have to keep worrying about you!" Aunt Guihua said with some impatience, grumbling as she stood up and went outside.

After she had left, Huaihua, her face flushed, didn’t dare look at Ling Feng and said in a low voice, "Brother, I, I think I might be pregnant!"

"What?"

Ling Feng was stunned when he heard this. It wasn’t strange for the girl to make a boyfriend while she was away at school, but being pregnant was a bit much.

"My mom doesn’t know about this. I just told her I wasn’t feeling well and that my periods were irregular. You mustn’t tell her!" Huaihua looked up at Ling Feng with a pleading face.

"Let me check for you first."

Ling Feng smiled, feeling that something wasn’t quite right. This shy and timid girl had actually gone so far as to do that with her boyfriend?

He reached out and took her smooth wrist in his hand, closed his eyes, and after a moment, he smiled slightly, "Silly girl, you’re not pregnant!"

"Ah? That’s great!" Huaihua immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Ling Feng looked at her, "If I’m not mistaken, you don’t even have a boyfriend. How could you possibly be pregnant?"

"But I checked online, and if you miss your period for two months in a row, and sometimes feel like throwing up, those are symptoms of pregnancy," Huaihua asked bewilderedly.

"Silly, even if the symptoms are similar, it’s not possible. Have you ever slept with a man before?" Ling Feng probed.

Huaihua’s face immediately turned as red as a piece of cloth, and she shook her head with all her might, "No, it’s just that one time during a school event, I was accidentally hugged by a male student!"

Ling Feng was speechless. Were college students really so naive as to think you could get pregnant from just physical contact with a male?

Seeing the girl before him with a shy and coy face, he chuckled and then asked, "So you really don’t understand anything about men and women? You’re grown up now; you should learn a bit about that kind of knowledge."

"I, I don’t want to learn," said Huaihua, biting her lip and looking down.

Young men and women are at the age when their hormone levels are the highest, longing for love and also craving the body of the opposite sex. All of these are very normal phenomena.

However, there are differences between men and women, and even if a girl desires it in her heart, it couldn’t be openly acknowledged.

With a smile, Ling Feng said, "No worries, let’s exchange contact information. If you have any questions, I’ll help you with the answers."

Then he took out his mobile phone, and they added each other as friends on the app.

Afterward, Ling Feng took out a medicinal pill and handed it to Huaihua, "You’re just showing mild symptoms of qi stagnation and blood stasis. Eat this, and after regulating for a couple of days, you’ll be fine."

"Just one pill will do?" Huaihua asked in surprise as she took it.

"Not exactly, I only have this one for now. I’ll go up the mountain to gather more herbs and will mix some more for you then," Ling Feng said.

Huaihua uttered an "Oh," swallowed the pill, and then broke into a smile, "Thank you, Ling Feng."

"What’s there to thank me for? Do you still remember how you used to follow me around when we were little? As your brother, I can still help you with this much!" Ling Feng said with a laugh.

"How much does this pill cost?" Huaihua asked.

"What are you talking about money for!" Ling Feng, who had been holding her little hand all this time and hadn’t let go, felt a smooth and pleasant sensation and said with a smile, "I made these pills myself; they don’t cost anything!"

Feeling the warmth from his large hand, Huaihua nodded, "Thank you, brother, I should go now."

"Sure, remember, if you have any doubts or questions, you can ask me anytime," Ling Feng said.

He sounded dead serious, but in his heart, he was pondering how he could tame this naive young lady!
