Li Shiyun, holding several books in her arms, saw that Ling Feng was only wearing a tank top and shorts, so she asked, "You’re going to sleep?"

"Yeah, why did you suddenly come over without saying anything?" Ling Feng asked.

"There’s something I wanted to talk to you about. I thought you had just gotten back and would be awake for a while longer," Li Shiyun said.

Since she was already there, Ling Feng couldn’t very well say let’s talk about it tomorrow, I’m going to sleep, could he?

So he could only smile and say, "Then come in and let’s talk."

Li Shiyun hesitated a bit, but still stepped into the room.

Ling Feng felt it was a bit impolite to be dressed so scantily, hurried inside to put on more clothes, and by the time he came out, Li Shiyun had already sat down.

She had been to his home several times already, so she didn’t feel unfamiliar at all, and immediately said, "I hardly ever see you around lately, so while you’re at home, I hurried to talk to you."

"I’ve looked up some more information, and it’s all here after I organized it. Take a close look," she said.

Having said that, she handed several pieces of paper to Ling Feng.

At a glance, they were all about mushrooms, and Ling Feng immediately laughed, "Village Chief, you’re really thoughtful!"

"It’s only right," she replied.

Li Shiyun pulled out a piece of paper and placed it on the table, pointing to a line on it, she continued, "If you want to start production formally, these materials are essential."

Ling Feng leaned over to look and saw there were more than a dozen different items, some of which he hadn’t even heard of before.

"So many? Do the mushrooms that grow in the mountains need these too?" he asked, puzzled.

"Not those, but that’s how it is with artificial cultivation. These are essential nutrients that have been summarized after countless trials by predecessors, and any deficiency can affect the growth and yield of the mushrooms!" Li Shiyun explained.

The two of them were sitting very close, and Ling Feng could feel the breath from her mouth as she spoke. He caught a whiff of a fragrant scent, and seeing her serious demeanor, he felt an almost saintly aura about her.

Seeing Ling Feng space out, Li Shiyun couldn’t help asking, "What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing, I’m just thinking I might need to go into town tomorrow to make some purchases!" Ling Feng replied.

No sooner had he finished speaking than the light bulb overhead flickered and then suddenly went out!

"Dammit, the power’s out again!"

In the pitch-black room, Ling Feng exclaimed angrily.

Li Shiyun also felt somewhat helpless; the power lines in Shiliu Village were really aging, with frequent outages!

"Village Chief, you stay seated, I’ll go find a candle!"

Ling Feng stood up to go, but as he did, he bumped into Li Shiyun, who had also risen to her feet, and without thinking, he instinctively wrapped his arms around her! 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Hey? What are you doing?" Li Shiyun asked softly, her voice gentle.

"Nothing, I was afraid of knocking you down. Why did you get up too?" Ling Feng asked as he held her arm.

"I was going to help you find the candle. I just saw it on the table over there," Li Shiyun said, breaking free from his grasp and turning to reach for it.

But she tripped over something and fell with a cry of alarm.

Upon hearing her, Ling Feng knew right away that it wasn’t good, and he reached out blindly. Li Shiyun’s body fell forward, plunging straight into his arms.

The impact was so strong it unbalanced him, and he slipped and also fell backward, landing on the floor with a thud!

Fortunately, the floor was clear, otherwise Ling Feng might have been injured.

Li Shiyun lay on top of him, inhaling a strong masculine scent that immediately made her feel flustered. At the same time, she asked, "Are you okay?"

"I’m fine, just a sore butt," Ling Feng replied.

Falling like that was totally worth it, a beauty in his arms, the softness of her chest pressed against his own; the feeling was just too awesome!

Li Shiyun’s hair draped down, tickling his nose and face, but his arms remained wrapped around her, having forgotten to let go.

After a little while, Li Shiyun asked, "Aren’t you going to let go?"

"Oh, sorry."

Ling Feng felt somewhat disappointed, having thought that she might also enjoy the embrace. In reality, she had been waiting for a few seconds, just waiting for him to take the initiative to let go!

Li Shiyun got up from the ground and did not dare to move rashly again; quickly pulling out her phone, she said, "I’m such an idiot, the phone has a light, why fumble in the dark?"

A beam of white light appeared as she turned on the flashlight and then went straight to lighting a candle.

Once the room brightened, Ling Feng stood up with a hint of annoyance: "We need to get an electrician to check this out tomorrow; this constant power outage could cause trouble in the future."

"I’ll ask about it, and since there’s a power outage, I should head back first," Li Shiyun said as she flipped her hair.

Without thinking, Ling Feng blurted out, "Why don’t you stay here with me instead?"

"What?"

Li Shiyun was taken aback, turning to look at him in astonishment.

"I mean, last time there was a power outage, you stayed here too. Aren’t you afraid to go back alone in the dark?" Ling Feng quickly explained.

"That was before. I’m not afraid anymore!" Li Shiyun said with a slight smile before turning to walk towards the door.

Ling Feng saw her to the door, only then remembering that she had significantly enhanced her physical condition. If a bad guy tried to bully her now, they’d probably end up looking for their teeth on the ground!

"If you’re free tomorrow morning, I’ll come over to discuss the mushroom farming project. I hope we can get it started soon and lead everyone to prosperity!" Li Shiyun called back after walking a few steps.

"Sure, I’ll wait for you!" Ling Feng nodded.

The next morning, Ling Feng was still dreaming when he heard scratching at his door, prompting him to open his eyes and bark out, "Wang Cai, what the heck are you doing so early in the morning?"

Wang Cai’s barks came from outside, their meaning unclear, but the scratching didn’t stop.

Left with no choice, Ling Feng got up to open the door, only to find Wang Cai sitting there with two wild rabbits at his feet, looking at him expectantly.

"I really regret bringing you back home. All I do is cook for you all day!"

Picking up the rabbits with a huff, Ling Feng complained verbally while his body turned back to prepare them.

After cleaning them up, he started a fire outside the door, placed the rabbits over it, and said to Wang Cai, "Keep an eye on them, will you? Can you turn them over?"

Wang Cai salivated as he watched the rabbits and nodded his head.

Seeing this, Ling Feng returned to his room to tidy up the bed and wash up, then changed into clean clothes.

When he came out again, several villagers were standing at the door, watching the spectacle.

"What are you all looking at?" Ling Feng asked.

"It’s incredible, Ling Feng, where did you find this dog that can actually roast meat?"

Wang Cai was squatting on the ground, one paw resting on the spit, turning it every once in a while to prevent the rabbit meat from charring. His serious expression and careful manner made for a curious sight.

"There’s nothing miraculous about it. It’s just good training. And don’t spout nonsense, Wang Cai is not a dog, he’s a wolf!" Ling Feng laughed.

Having him roast the meat was a spur-of-the-moment idea, now a bit too ostentatious. So, he said to Wang Cai, "Go to the backyard. I’ll bring it to you once it’s roasted!"

Upon hearing this, Wang Cai turned and left, causing the onlookers to gasp in amazement: "That wolf actually understands human speech!"

"Pretty impressive, right? I taught it all myself!" Ling Feng said proudly.
