The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 84: The Chen family in trouble
Soon, both maps were on Ling Feng’s phone, but he knew it would be a hassle to view them on his device, so he decided to go to the print shop in town and print them out.
Seeing that the awkward moment from before had been tossed aside by both women, he asked with a smile, "Do either of you want to join me for a stroll in town?"
"No thanks, I already went last time, nothing interesting," Chen Yuhe said with a pout.
Mo Jiaolan also shook her head, "I won’t go either, I have some paperwork to deal with later."
"All right, then I’ll go by myself."
Ling Feng nodded and stepped out of the house, then started his electric tricycle and headed for town.
There weren’t many people in the print shop; the bespectacled owner was dozing off in his chair and only opened his eyes when someone entered, asking, "What do you need?"
"I need to print two maps. Do you have larger sizes?" Ling Feng asked.
"What exactly are you trying to print?"
"A map."
The owner nodded upon hearing this, "Sure, I can print it large enough to hang on the wall."
Ling Feng smiled, said okay, and then handed over the pictures from his phone.
The owner looked down at one of the images and immediately asked with puzzlement, "What do you need this ancient map for?"
A thought struck Ling Feng, but he simply smiled and said, "Nothing much, just a hobby of mine."
"Oh, this map must be over three thousand years old. I’ve never seen anyone print this before," the owner commented.
"You seem quite knowledgeable, to recognize its historical period with just a glance," Ling Feng said with a smile.
"I enjoy it, so I study it a bit more. I have maps of Hua County from various eras; although ancient maps can’t compare with modern ones, they’re still quite fun!"
The shop owner started the machine and began working on the computer.
Ling Feng, intrigued, couldn’t help but ask, "Boss, do you have the location of our county on this map?"
"Believe it or not, I do!" the shop owner nodded.
"Great, then print a copy of that one for me, too," Ling Feng immediately said.
The mysterious head bone had surfaced in Shiliu Village, and he suspected that the location marked on the map might be nearby, possibly even in the mountains to the west of the village.
The shop owner, naturally happy to make extra from another print, pointed at the large map after printing it and said, "See this? This is where Hua County is. The smaller map is more detailed, with mountains and rivers, though the river courses have changed over time; the mountain ranges’ directions have remained the same!"
Ling Feng didn’t look too closely and, overjoyed, rolled up the maps, paid, and hurried back to his vehicle to drive home.
Just then, his phone suddenly rang. Seeing that it was Chen Yuhe calling, he answered and asked, "Miss me already, after just fifteen minutes?"
"No, there’s been an emergency at home, and I have to go back with Sister Lan, just letting you know!" Chen Yuhe said urgently from the other end.
Ling Feng was taken aback, realizing the matter must be urgent since she was leaving so quickly, so he asked helplessly, "What happened?"
"My dad, he had an accident, the situation is unclear right now; I’ll fill you in after I get back!" Chen Yuhe replied.
"Ah, then drive carefully, and call me if you need any help!" Ling Feng quickly said.
"I know, I’ll contact you if there’s anything."
Chen Yuhe hung up the phone, and Ling Feng, sitting in the tricycle, was somewhat stunned. What could have happened to Chen Gang?
Riding back home, he noticed both cars were gone, and the door was locked.
As Ling Feng unlocked the door and entered the house, he saw that the belongings in the inner room had also been packed up, and he suddenly felt a wave of loss wash over him.
The two women hadn’t stayed at his place for long, but he had gotten used to their company. Their sudden departure made him feel unexpectedly uncomfortable.
After sighing, Ling Feng turned and went to the backyard, only to unexpectedly find that the clothes the two women had hung to dry had not been taken with them, probably forgotten due to their hasty departure.
Seeing this, Ling Feng, no longer in the mood to admire their things, stepped forward to check the already dried clothes. He decided to collect them and put them away in the inner room, planning to return them to the two women when he had the chance.
After feeding the animals at the breeding farm, he returned to his room, took out the several maps he had, and spread them all out on the bed to study them carefully.
The one kept by the store owner proved very useful. After just a glance, he could see that the terrain on the map was almost identical to what he had seen in the skull, so he quickly took it out to compare.
That’s right, the map on the skull was within the range of Hua County indeed!
Taking the modern map and comparing it bit by bit, Ling Feng spent over an hour before he pinpointed the first location.
After that, he followed the trail, marking one point after another according to the map’s curved lines and finally located nine positions!
The nine points formed an irregular curve, and upon closer study, Ling Feng discovered that they were all located within the branches of a mountain!
The mountain was called Mount Jiuhua, the tallest range in Hua County, and also a scenic attraction. It saw tourists from other places all year round and was quite famous throughout the province.
Mount Jiuhua was not too far from Shiliu Village, but the straight-line distance was still forty to fifty kilometers.
There were no markings on the Treasure Map, just a black dot, leaving its meaning a mystery. To search for the treasure, a visit to the location was in order.
However, a trip would at least take two to three days, as it was impossible to locate the treasure upon arrival. He would need to inquire with the locals or search the mountain himself.
And Ling Feng didn’t have the time now. There were simply too many things to take care of at home, so he had to postpone the search until he could spare the time for it.
Soon it was evening, and Ling Feng finished up his chores at home. With nothing else to do, he was just waiting to harvest mushrooms the next morning and then deliver them to Sister Lan.
But as soon as the sun set, the phone rang urgently. Seeing that it was Chen Yuhe calling, Ling Feng quickly answered, "What’s the situation?"
"Ling Feng, please save my dad. He—he’s not going to make it!"
"What? How could this happen?" Ling Feng asked in astonishment.
"It’s a car accident. His car was hit by another vehicle. He is critically injured and unconscious. The doctor says, says there’s a very low chance he’ll make it!" Chen Yuhe said tearfully.
"Don’t panic, I’m heading to the county town right now. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely save him," Ling Feng reassured her quickly.
"My cousin has already gone to find you. She’ll arrive soon, so you don’t have to drive the tricycle over."
"That’s good. I’ll wait for her. Don’t be afraid, everything will be okay!"
Hearing Chen Yuhe’s sobs, Ling Feng felt a twinge of pain in his heart as if something had pricked him twice, and he also found it strange. What was going on with this father and daughter; how could they get into accidents so easily?
Lost in his troubled thoughts, the sound of a car horn brought him back to reality. He quickly grabbed what he needed and went out to board Mo Jiaolan’s car.
After they left Shiliu Village, Ling Feng turned to Mo Jiaolan, who was looking very serious, and asked, "What happened? How could someone like Mr. Chen, the mine manager, be in a car accident?"
"It’s unclear right now whether it was an accident or if someone intentionally caused it. But Uncle’s injuries are severe. Apart from you, I’m afraid no one else can save him," Mo Jiaolan said gravely.
