The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 85: Meeting an Acquaintance
Ling Feng nodded: "I’ll try my best."
After a pause, he couldn’t help but laugh: "Yuhe is actually quite obedient. She had a falling out with her family, but the moment something happened to her father, she became anxious like no other."
"Yeah, I thought she was really going to sever ties with her family and never return. After this incident, it seems the previous conflicts should be resolvable," Mo Jiaolan nodded and said.
Only then did Ling Feng remember he still didn’t know why Chen Yuhe had run away from home, so he immediately asked: "By the way, what exactly happened with her family?"
"My uncle wanted to marry her off to the son of a coal tycoon from another city, claiming they had a childhood betrothal," Mo Jiaolan said with a wry smile.
"What?"
Ling Feng was extremely astonished and couldn’t help but ridicule: "Jesus, what era are we living in that they still want to arrange marriages like that?"
"Exactly, he has old ties with that coal tycoon, but that doesn’t mean he can sacrifice his own daughter’s happiness. In any case, all of us are against it. It’s just that my aunt and uncle are bewitched or something, insisting on going through with it!" Mo Jiaolan sighed.
Ling Feng was speechless—it’s no wonder Chen Yuhe ran away from home. Parents like that were indeed a bit unreasonable!
While they were talking, the car had already arrived at the parking lot of the Central Hospital. Ling Feng got out of the car and said with a smile: "This must be the third time we’ve come here, right?"
Mo Jiaolan nodded: "Yeah."
"If I come a few more times, I guess everyone at the hospital will recognize me. They might even put up a sign at the door someday: ’Ling Feng Not Allowed Inside!’"
Mo Jiaolan was feeling quite tense, but upon hearing that, she couldn’t help but snort with laughter: "Alright, you’re still in the mood for jokes. My uncle’s injury is really serious. Let’s hurry up!"
"Yeah."
Ling Feng nodded and followed her upstairs, heading straight to the ward.
When they got to the orthopedic ward and just entered the corridor, they saw a crowd of people of all ages outside one of the rooms, seemingly from Chen Gang’s company.
When those people saw Mo Jiaolan coming, they made way for her, and the two of them then entered the ward.
There were only two people in the room, Chen Yuhe and her mother, whom he had already met last time.
"Divine Doctor Ling, you’re finally here. Please, take a look at him. Old Chen’s life is in your hands!" Chen Yuhe’s mother, named Mo Wen, rushed forward and grabbed Ling Feng’s hand.
"Auntie, rest assured, I’ll do my utmost."
Ling Feng nodded, then asked: "Why is the patient in the ward? Shouldn’t there be an emergency rescue?"
"The doctor said he has too many injuries, and surgery right now could lead to complications. They need to address each issue one by one," Mo Wen answered.
"Oh, let me take a look."
Ling Feng stepped forward and saw Chen Gang lying on the bed with a breathing mask, his body covered with bandages, and in a coma. He immediately grabbed his hand.
With True Qi entering the body, he quickly diagnosed the injuries in various parts of Chen Gang’s body, then looked up and said to them: "Don’t worry. The damage to the organs isn’t severe. It’s just a few bone fractures and a mild concussion."
"Really? But the doctors here say there’s a massive shadow in my dad’s head, fearing he might become vegetative!" said Chen Yuhe, with tears in her eyes.
Ling Feng smiled: "Don’t listen to them. With me here, there won’t be any problems!"
Having said that, he first took out several silver needles and placed them at Chen Gang’s major acupoints. Just as he was about to start treatment, a commotion came from outside the door, followed by several people in white coats walking in.
Upon seeing Ling Feng, one of them immediately exclaimed: "It’s you again!"
"Indeed, it’s me again," Ling Feng nodded and stopped what he was doing.
This person was Doctor Hu, who had been present the last time he treated the old master of the Mo Family. Doctor Hu had been embarrassingly shown up by Ling Feng then and had a deep impression of him.
"Kid, no matter where you’re from, you’re not allowed to mess around this time. If you do, I’ll call the police right now!" Doctor Hu said.
Among the group of white-coated individuals, an elderly man with white hair and beard asked, "What’s the matter?"
"Mr. Gu, let me explain..."
Dr. Hu hurriedly recounted the events that had taken place before, and after listening, the elder referred to as Mr. Gu turned to Ling Feng, "You know how to treat illnesses as well?"
"Of course, it’s a family-inherited medical skill, and I have the credentials too. Would you like to see them?" Ling Feng asked.
Mr. Gu shook his head, "No need." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
He then turned to Mo Wen, "Miss Mo, your husband’s condition is quite urgent. We had intended to have a consultation, but now that you’ve brought this young man here, do you still require our services?"
"Mr. Gu, please don’t be upset. We just wanted to wake Chen Gang up as soon as possible. We had no choice but to ask for Divine Doctor Ling’s assistance," Mo Wen quickly explained.
This Mr. Gu was a veteran expert at the central hospital and held high prestige in the medical community of Hua County; Mo Wen did not wish to offend him.
"If that’s the case, then please let Divine Doctor Ling have a look first, and if it doesn’t work, we’ll step in," Mr. Gu said expressionlessly before turning to leave the ward.
Seeing this, Dr. Hu and the others reluctantly followed him out. However, at the doorway, Dr. Hu turned back and glared at Ling Feng, as if to say, "You’re going to pay for this."
Ling Feng remained indifferent, considering it a minor interruption that wouldn’t affect him at all.
He then turned back to continue channeling True Qi to clear Chen Gang’s meridians, expelling the blood stasis from his body. After a while, he took out a medicinal pill from his waist and placed it into Chen Gang’s mouth.
"He should wake up in about half an hour, and his consciousness will recover, but there’s not much I can do about the broken bones at the moment. I don’t have the necessary elixir on hand; I need to concoct it specifically for this purpose."
After ending the treatment, Ling Feng stood up and addressed everyone.
"What do you need for the concoction, and how can we help?" Chen Yuhe immediately asked.
With his earlier reassurances as a foundation and her absolute trust in Ling Feng, she had now put her mind at ease.
"No need, just stay here and watch over him; I’ll be back soon," Ling Feng said.
As he turned to leave, Mo Wen hurriedly stopped him and took out a stack of banknotes from her bag, "Use this if you need money for anything; we can’t have you fronting the costs!"
"Auntie, you’re too kind. The herbs I need cost only about ten or eight yuan; that much money isn’t necessary," Ling Feng said with a smile, declining her offer as he walked towards the door.
"I’ll go with you; it’s more convenient by car," Mo Jiaolan came up and said.
Ling Feng hesitated for a moment before nodding, "Alright."
Before leaving, he looked back at Chen Yuhe and her daughter, "Rest assured, it will all be fine in half an hour."
Then the two descended the stairs, with Mo Jiaolan driving Ling Feng to a Chinese medicine shop.
It was already late in the evening, but the medicine shop had not yet closed its doors, though there were few customers inside.
Upon entering, Ling Feng said to the old man behind the counter, "Hello, I need a few herbal ingredients."
"Where’s the prescription?" the old man asked, looking up.
"I don’t have a written prescription; I remember it all by heart," Ling Feng said with a smile.
The old man gave him a surprised look before nodding, "Alright, go ahead and tell me what you need."
Ling Feng casually mentioned a few herbs and the old man fetched them one by one, quickly piling them up on the table.
"Young man, are you going to decoct these herbs together?" the old man asked in surprise after hearing Ling Feng’s formula.
"Yes, what’s wrong?" Ling Feng inquired.
"I can’t sell you these herbs!" the old man exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock!
