The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 93: Home Alone
Ling Feng was very surprised!
Li Shiyun had said this much, and it was clear she knew something.
But since she knew and was still willing to help him, it was a bit odd.
Thus, Ling Feng looked into her eyes and asked with confusion, "You should know what I’m trying to do, yet you still want to help me?"
"Yes, you want to help Mo Jiaolan and get involved with Chen Yuhe’s affairs, right?" Li Shiyun asked.
"Right, that’s it." Ling Feng nodded.
"Then I can help you too!" Li Shiyun said.
Ling Feng’s eyes widened, "Why? Aren’t you jealous?"
Li Shiyun looked up at him, "Of course I’m jealous!"
Upon hearing this, Ling Feng immediately felt a sweetness in his heart, and warmth too!
Her admission essentially confirmed that she liked him. However, the fact that she was jealous yet offering her assistance to deal with Mo Jiaolan’s troubles was a bit strange.
Seeing the complex expression in her eyes, Ling Feng was somewhat astonished, "Why are you doing this?"
"If I don’t help you, others will scramble to offer their assistance, whatever you need, people will promptly present it before you!" Li Shiyun pursed her lips slightly, her gaze sparkling as she continued, "So, rather than letting others please you, I’d rather you owe me a favor!"
Ling Feng was a bit bemused and scratched his head, "Who are these people you’re talking about?"
"So far, only our Li Family has taken notice of you, but as your reputation grows, many major families and consortia will set their sights on you," Li Shiyun said calmly.
"Oh, I see, it’s ’the taller the tree, the more wind it draws,’ right?" Ling Feng asked.
"That’s the idea!" Li Shiyun nodded.
Ling Feng suddenly understood and said lightly, "Others want to help me because they’re looking to benefit from me, but that’s not the case with you, right?"
Li Shiyun’s body shook slightly, and she didn’t speak for a long while before finally sighing, "What would you think if I said this is also a mission from my family, that my grandfather instructed me to do this?"
Ling Feng was taken aback, then shook his head, "I only accept you, not your family. Of course, if there’s a place where help is needed, I’ll still lend a hand."
His words surprised Li Shiyun. Her sparkling eyes finally sighed, "Alright."
After saying this, she turned to leave, and Ling Feng quickly stepped forward to grab her hand, "Are you angry?"
"No, I won’t interfere with your thoughts. If you want to develop on your own strength, I’ll still do my best to help you," Li Shiyun said.
Ling Feng felt moved and wanted to embrace her again, but unfortunately, a flashlight beam shone over from a distance, and Li Shiyun quickly withdrew her hand.
"Who’s there? What are you flashing around for?" Ling Feng called out in annoyance.
"Brother Ling Feng, it’s me," came Huaihua’s timid voice.
Hearing that it was her, Ling Feng immediately lost his irritation and quickly went up to ask, "What’s the matter, Huaihua? Why are you out so late at night?"
"I came to get some medicine from you, remember you said before?" Huaihua asked.
"Right, right, I remember now!" Ling Feng slapped his forehead.
Back at the doorstep of his house, Li Shiyun didn’t enter but returned to the village committee office.
Ling Feng took out a few medicinal pills and placed them in Huaihua’s palm, "Take one pill at a time, once every two days, and in a few days your health will be all right."
"Oh, thank you, brother," Huaihua said, her head lowered.
Seeing that she showed no sign of leaving, Ling Feng asked curiously, "What’s wrong?"
Although her head was down, Ling Feng could see her blushing cheeks, which stirred something within him.
And Huaihua bit her lip, unable to find her words, and finally just shook her head, "It’s nothing, I’m going home now!"
After she finished speaking, she hurriedly ran out, almost tripping over the threshold!
Ling Feng was speechless. What was the matter with this girl, being so shy for what?
Watching her figure disappear into the distance, the flashlight’s beam fading away into the village, he turned around to head back to his room, closed the door, and got ready for bed.
Lying in bed, he was reminiscing about Li Shiyun’s words when suddenly his phone received a message from Huaihua, "Brother, are you asleep yet?"
"Not yet, have you reached home?" Ling Feng asked.
"Mhm."
Huaihua replied with just one word, which Ling Feng found a bit unusual, so he immediately asked, "What happened just now? You seemed very nervous and shy."
It took a few minutes before Huaihua responded, but instead of answering his question, she said, "Brother, don’t sleep tonight, keep me company and chat awhile?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"Ah? Chat all night?" Ling Feng replied with an astonished expression emoji.
Huaihua fell silent again, then a few minutes later she said, "Never mind then, I just feel a bit scared and don’t dare to sleep."
Seeing this, Ling Feng instantly asked, "What’s the matter? Are you home alone?"
"Yeah, my mother went back to her parents’ home and asked me to stay and look after the house."
Reading Huaihua’s reply, Ling Feng understood at once!
This girl was scared being by herself at home and had wanted him to keep her company, but after all, as a girl, how could she invite a guy over to her house?
Now that he understood, Ling Feng’s heartbeat quickened a bit and, after weighing his words, he replied, "So you’re scared because you’re home alone, huh? It’s okay, I’ll come and keep you company!"
"Is that okay?" Huaihua asked.
Ling Feng chuckled and replied very seriously, "It’s fine, as long as no one sees, and I wouldn’t take advantage of you."
Huaihua was silent for several minutes, and just as Ling Feng was growing impatient, she finally replied, "Okay, I’ll leave the door unlocked for you."
"I’ll be right over."
Ling Feng bolted up from the bed, hastily got dressed, and then dashed out of his house!
Within less than two minutes, he arrived outside Huaihua’s courtyard. Noticing the house seemed dark as if the lights were off, he vaulted over the wall and headed straight to the front door.
Gently pushing the door, he found it indeed wasn’t double-locked, stepped inside, and then turned to lock the door behind him.
The room was pitch-black, and he tiptoed to the inner room’s entrance, where he lifted the curtain and peeked inside.
There lay a person, quietly on the bed, her graceful figure resembling Huaihua.
"Brother?"
Huaihua had heard the sound of the door and footsteps entering the room, so she looked up cautiously and asked.
"Don’t be afraid, it’s me. Why didn’t you turn on the light?" Ling Feng asked.
"I—I’m scared," Huaihua said softly.
If the lights were on, they would be face-to-face. After all, being alone in a room with a man, Huaihua felt she would die of embarrassment, so she had left the lights off deliberately.
Realizing this, Ling Feng smiled slightly and climbed onto the bed, lying down beside her.
The pounding heartbeat wasn’t his, of course, but Huaihua’s, who was nervous to the extreme.
"Aunt Guihua really has some nerve, leaving you alone at home!" To break the awkwardness, Ling Feng spoke softly.
Huaihua was silent for a moment before responding, "Actually, it’s nothing. It’s just that I get scared easily. I always feel like there’s someone moving around in the yard."
Ling Feng laughed, "Don’t be afraid, I’m here now. You go to sleep, rest easy."
