The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 154: The Arrogant Scoundrel_1
Those three blond youngsters charged at Li Qing like they were blind, barreling straight toward him.
Li Qing’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly jumped to the side, intuition telling him that something was off with these three.
Just as he dodged, several bottles flew past him, just missing his body.
Crash!
The clear glass bottles shattered on the ground, releasing a strong, pungent smell.
It was sulfuric acid!
Li Qing quickly covered his mouth and nose, shouting a warning to Gao Li and Brother Gong to watch out.
No sooner had he shouted than the three blond youngsters threw several more clear bottles, wildly smashing them against Gao Li’s tricycle and the small car behind Brother Gong.
"Fuck your grandfather!"
Brother Gong roared and leapt out of his car, charging towards the three blond youngsters.
Li Qing, realizing the danger a moment later, also chased after them.
The three blond youngsters apparently had no more bottles in their hands, and upon seeing Li Qing and Brother Gong giving chase, they turned tail and ran.
"Son of a bitch, where do you think you’re going!"
Brother Gong bellowed, his form sprinting like a cheetah, and with one punch knocked down the one lagging behind.
"Qingzi, watch him; I’m going after those two bastards!" Brother Gong yelled back at Li Qing.
Li Qing quickly acknowledged, seeing the blond youngster attempting to get up, he went over and kicked him again.
He knocked him to the ground, straddled him, and pummeled him fiercely with a flurry of blows.
The recent events left him shaken, and the anger in his heart flared violently.
If he hadn’t dodged in time, those sulfuric acid bottles would have certainly hit him.
That stuff, once it touches you, it’s game over.
Had he been splashed, he could easily spend a month or two in the hospital.
Only when his own wrist started hurting and the young man’s face swelled up did Li Qing stop, grabbing the guy off the ground and striding toward the tricycle.
Although Li Qing wasn’t as burly as Brother Gong, he was still very sturdy.
The skinny blond youngster in his grip was like lifting a little chick, hardly any trouble at all.
Passing through the alley and arriving at the street corner, Li Qing suddenly saw a large crowd gathered around his car.
Gao Li stood in the middle, looking small and defenseless, desperately trying to explain something to the bystanders.
Li Qing’s heart tightened instantly.
That vehicle was loaded with most of his assets, more than thirty thousand yuan.
Li Qing hurriedly pushed through the crowd and rushed in, only to see Kong Zhenggang.
He had brought seven or eight youngsters with him, armed with all sorts of makeshift weapons, standing opposite Gao Li.
Thud!
Li Qing threw the blond youngster on the ground and confronted Kong Zhenggang, "Your people?"
"Yeah, what about it?" Kong Zhenggang smirked provocatively, "You got lucky, dog shit. So many sulfuric acid bottles and you managed to dodge them all!"
"What do you want?" Li Qing pressed, while his peripheral vision darted toward the alley he’d just come from.
Without Brother Gong’s return, today’s ordeal might become a big problem.
Li Qing had already had a poor opinion of Kong Zhenggang, but he never imagined he would resort to throwing sulfuric acid, a move that bordered on the diabolical.
"What do I want?" Kong Zhenggang burst into laughter, his face twisted with arrogance.
"I’ll tell you, in all these years, nobody has dared to steal business from our family."
"You little shit, you’re truly the unique excrement of a scorpion!"
Li Qing saw that Brother Gong hadn’t come back and had no choice but to solve the issue in his own way.
Even if it cost him half his life, the goods in the car must not be tampered with.
"I’m asking you, what exactly do you want to do?"
Li Qing shouted, "These goods are for Lü Zong. You’d better think carefully before you lay a hand on them!"
"When have I ever touched your goods? It’s you I want to lay my hands on, you little punk!" Kong Zhenggang sneered, "Boys, beat him to death. I’ll take the blame if anything happens. I’ll cover your medical bills, and each of you get an extra thousand. Get him!"
The seven or eight youths, who looked no older than their early twenties, swung the tools in their hands and surrounded Li Qing.
Just at this critical juncture, several police officers pushed through the crowd and walked in.
"Fighting, are we?"
The leading officer glanced over Li Qing and Kong Zhenggang, who were obviously divided into two camps, and slowly placed his hand on his waist.
Kong Zhenggang raised his hand, saying with a chuckle, "Officer, we are just chatting, joking around!"
"Do you think my eyes are just for show? Do you think I am blind?"
The police officer pointed at his own eyes; his gaze towards Kong Zhenggang instantly became hostile.
Seeing this officer, Li Qing’s face lit up with joy, "Officer Wang!"
"Is that you?" Officer Wang took a closer look at Li Qing and also suddenly remembered, "How are you involved in this again?"
Li Qing said bitterly, "Officer Wang, I don’t like causing trouble, but I had no choice."
"Someone forced a sale and not only do they refuse to let others sell to me, but now they’re blocking the road and beating people."
"In a society ruled by law, some people are just too brazen.
Officer Wang, look at the glass shards on the ground; it’s from a sulfuric acid bottle they just threw."
Officer Wang understood without needing Li Qing to spell it out. He looked towards Kong Zhenggang and his gang, wielding wrenches and steel pipes.
"Put down your weapons!"
Officer Wang pulled out a baton from his waist and shouted commandingly.
Kong Zhenggang twisted his neck and sneered, "Officer, are you abusing your power? We haven’t done anything!"
"I’m telling you again, put down your weapons!" Officer Wang shouted sternly.
The two officers who came with Officer Wang also swiftly drew their batons, readying themselves.
"Officer, we are mechanics, just carrying some tools. How do they become weapons? You’re framing us!" Kong Zhenggang joked, not taking the situation seriously at all.
"Requesting backup from the station!"
Officer Wang’s face took on a severe expression as he gave the command in a deep voice.
These words finally made Kong Zhenggang drop his hoodlum facade, "Fine, fine, fine!"
"Why make such a big deal out of this? We’ll let it go."
"But really, they’re not weapons. We are mechanics; carrying wrenches and pipes makes sense, why the fuss!"
That scene nearly brought Li Qing’s heart to his throat.
He hadn’t expected Kong Zhenggang to be so brash to the point of playing word games even when the police asked him to drop his weapons.
Whether they were weapons or not, anyone with eyes could tell, even an eighty-year-old grandma.
"Everybody, hands on your heads and squat down!"
After Kong Zhenggang and his men had thrown down their weapons, Officer Wang ordered again sternly.
Just then, Brother Gong, with a blond youth in each hand, strode out from the alley.
Li Qing sighed quietly and silently turned his head away.
The timing couldn’t be more coincidental.
