Chapter 352: The Resistance

"Stop him!"

"Put out the fire!"

"We need backup! Send backup now!"

Kai was having a field day slaughtering the guards in the town. Heads went flying, some were crushed, men were ripped in half, others burned to death, and the rest ran away in fear, only to be sniped in the head and die instantly.

"I’ll fucking kill you!" One guard charged at Kai, but he was grabbed by the throat, and his head was ripped off.

Kai then used that head like a ball and kicked it into the chest of another guard coming his way.

"Goal!"

The sound of a whistle went off in Kai’s head. ’Red card! You used your hands! You’re not the goalkeeper!’

"Come on, ref! You’re not playing fair!"

’Rules are rules.’

As he was chatting with Leo, a random guard tried to sneak behind Kai and stab him in the back. But when his sword broke against Kai’s skin, the guy stumbled onto the ground and fell on his ass.

"That’s not nice, you know. Sneaking up on people." Kai wagged his finger.

"S-Sorry."

"It’s okay."

"Really?"

"No." Kai kicked the guy’s head off, and it slammed into the face of another guard, replacing his head.

"Damn! Now that was fucking crazy!"

After having his fun and making a statement, Kai killed every single guard in an instant, not feeling the need to mess around anymore. Then, he extinguished the fire and rebuilt the barracks into one nice, beautiful house, one that would serve as his own from now on.

"Everyone, these guards will no longer be able to harass you. You may live happily like you did previously. And to make sure you’re safe..." Kai protected the town by placing a barrier around it. "This barrier will shield you from any danger. Oh, and here’s some gold."

Kai threw gold all over the streets, and people flocked to the money as if they were birds. They sang their praises and thanked Kai for his bravery. However, some warned him of the consequences he might face.

This didn’t scare him because no one in this world could harm him. So, Kai just shrugged the warning off. Though he did make sure to protect his new house, just like he had done with all of his other houses.

"Kai? What are you doing here? And how are there two of you?" Carlem asked, looking at both Kai’s. His girls had also come with him, wondering what was going on.

"Oh, hey! You’re here." Both Kais merged back into one person. "I’m getting the attention of the resistance. I took out the guards who were in Flaxon’s pockets."

"Flexom." Carlem corrected.

"I just said that. Anyway, now we just wait. Come, welcome to my new home."

"Do you always make a home wherever you go?" Karumi asked

"Yup. It’s not mainly for me, though. It’s for my girls. Speaking of girls, I have to find some maids. I always need maids."

Everyone entered the house, and it was completely empty. Normally, Kai would let his girls do the decorating, but since it was night and most stores were closed, he decorated the place himself.

"Hey, Carlem. Bring your wife and daughters here. They can stay in this home while I’m away."

"O-Okay."

"Oh yeah, one last thing before I forget." Kai hypnotized him. No matter how many times he did it, he always loved that feeling.

After Carlem returned with his family, Kai hypnotized them as well, then allowed them to choose a room they wanted. When Carlem asked where he would stay, Kai told him to go back to his own home.

Carlem saw nothing wrong with this because of the hypnosis and left.

After that, everyone went to sleep.

---

"I’m telling you! The guy is no joke! He took out a whole barracks’ worth of guards, and when the rest tried to fight back, he killed them all as if they were nothing but ants. Not even weapons worked against him!"

Currently sitting at a round table are five people. Two of them were the remaining prince and princess, the hero, the leader of the resistance, and one of their trusted friends, a royal advisor.

The man speaking was giving a report about what he had just witnessed in Dunross and was trying to convince his higher-ups to scout Kai.

"I don’t know. He could be a spy." The prince was very skeptical of everyone. No one could blame him either.

"If he is a spy, then that means he attacked his own people just to lure us out. That seems pretty messed up." The resistance leader sighed, rubbing her forehead.

"Because of his actions, the royal guards will be alerted soon. We can wait until then to see what his actions will be. If he fights against them, we shall scout him; if not, then we’ll put this matter to rest." The one who said this was the hero. She was still injured from her fight and wasn’t able to step out into the open yet.

The resistance was pretty strong, consisting of people whose loyalty lay with the true heirs to the throne and not the usurper. However, even with all their might, they couldn’t take back the castle and would die if they tried.

The man nodded. "I’ll continue to watch him. I did warn him about attracting the wrong attention, but he just shrugged it off, saying that he wasn’t worried about it."

"So he’s either confident in his abilities or he’s working with them." The princess concluded.

"We’ll know more when the time comes. Return to your post, soldier." The royal advisor commanded. "What do you all think about this?"

The prince spoke up first. "If he’s legit, then I want him by our side as soon as possible. While the guards in Dunross aren’t strong, it’s the statement this man is sending. He isn’t afraid of getting on the bad side of that Flexon bastard."

"I agree with my brother." The princess spoke up. "We need more talented or at least brave individuals."

The hero spoke up next. "With me out of commission, we need strong people by our side. And even when I finish healing, I can guarantee our victory. The more muscle we have, the better."

"I agree." The resistance leader nodded. "We’ll track what he does, and if he can be useful, then we’ll recruit him. But if he’s a threat, we’ll eliminate him. We can’t take any chances."

With the royal advisor agreeing with what everyone had to say, they adjourned the meeting and went to do their own work.
