"Wow, I’m surprised you just didn’t kill the guy." Karumi expected Kai to blast Prince Philip into smithereens because of the assassins Philip sent after him.

"You know, I thought about it, but sometimes, violence isn’t the answer, you know? Being calm, civil, and diplomatic can work as well."

"Ha, nothing about that was diplomatic. You literally killed him, then brought him back to life, threatened him, then finally gave him advice. And if he didn’t accept it, you would have killed him."

Kai shrugged because she was telling the truth. "Yeah, but I didn’t, and everything worked out perfectly fine. Besides, it’s obvious what kind of life he lived."

"What do you mean?"

"He’s the middle child, Karumi. Bro was probably not as talented as his older brother, but he still looked up to him, most likely. Older brother got all the attention and love, but Philip still worked hard, getting acknowledged by people. But then, younger brother is born and BOOM he’s talented as fuck, and all eyes are on him now."

Now she understood what he was talking about. "Ahh, I see. He feels inferior."

"Exactly. This is why he’s so quick to anger and craves the throne. But I showed him that the throne means absolutely nothing, so now, he’s gonna only focus on getting stronger." Kai felt proud of himself

"What if he comes back after becoming OP and kills his brothers and takes the throne?"

Kai shrugged once more. "Not my problem. He can do whatever the hell he wants. Just not right now, of course."

"Fair enough. Okay, can we go back to the estate now? We were supposed to be back hours ago, but you insisted on following that assassin you threw."

Kai and Karumi returned to the estate, where they were greeted by the guards as Kai was bringing an unknown person to their home.

"Stop right there! Sir Kai, you are able to pass, but this woman cannot." A guard said, holding his spear firmly.

"Huh? Why? Oh! Wait, don’t worry, she’s my spirit. Karumi, show your tails."

She showed her nine tails.

"Didn’t I say that I don’t like it when you hide your tails?" Kai loved the fluffiness.

"Yeah, but I don’t have to listen to you." She argued back.

"Hmmm, fair point."

The guards were stunned. They didn’t know that Karumi could turn into a human.

"Quick, turn into your fox form."

Karumi was now a fox and jumped on Kai’s shoulders.

"Wow! That’s amazing!"

"R-Right! Sorry about that, Sir Kai. We just have to keep the lord and his family safe, you know?"

"I totally get it. You’re just doing your jobs. Carry on, good sirs."

Heading inside, they were greeted by the maids. Elseth was blushing the moment she saw Kai walk inside the house and couldn’t take her eyes off him.

’He’s so fine! Dammit! I should have taken advantage of the opportunity I had! Now that bitch got a taste of him, and she won’t shut up about it!’ She was really regretting walking out on Kai when he caught her fingering herself.

"Oh, you’re right on time!" Axel was walking down the stairs when he spotted Kai.

"Hello, Lord Axel. I hope you’ve been well."

"Haha! I’ve been great, thanks to you! Come, there is something I have to show you."

Kai followed Axel to his office, where he was handed a letter.

"Read it."

"Uhh, I can’t read," Kai said with disappointment.

"Oh! M-MY apologies. I-I’ll read it for you."

"Nah, I’m just fucking with you." Kai opened the letter and started reading it.

The letter was addressed to every noble in the kingdom and was an invitation to a party because the king woke up after being sick for a long while. To celebrate his waking up and being back in good health, a party was being held in the Royal Palace.

"That’s pretty cool, but what does this have to do with me?"

"Read the bottom." Axel pointed

"Hmm. For House Nord, your attendant Kai has accomplished many great things while the king was out of commission. Because of this, I, King Louis, would like to honor him at this party. Please bring him if he’s available."

Kai wasn’t really a party person; he was more of an orgy guy, but with all girls, of course.

"Do I have to go?" He asked

"What?! Is that even an actual question? Of course, you have to go! This is the king we’re talking about!"

If this were Kai when he had just arrived in this world, then yeah, he wouldn’t have fucked with the royal family and would attend. But now, the title of king was such a joke to him that he nearly forgot its meaning.

"Fine, I’ll attend. It will make your house look great anyway. Do I get to wear a cool suit though?"

Axel smiled. "You’ll get to wear the best suit!"

"Awesome! Just not anything that’s blue, or any shade of blue. Blue is a pretty lame color. Red and Black, on the other hand, now those are fucking awesome colors. Oh, and I want my tux jacket to flow onto the ground and have a sparkling design on it to mimic the stars in the night sky."

"Sounds good." Axel didn’t care what Kai wanted; he just needed him to show up. Not only would this be a good thing for his house, but he didn’t want Kai to get on the wrong side of the Royal family, even if he was already. But this was the king, not the princes, so it was more important.

"Similar to yours, but as a dress, of course. Nothing too tight but nothing too loose."

Axel was extremely confused.

"Oh, you’re probably wondering why I need a dress for a fox, right? Katumi, TRANSFORM!"
