The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 452: Expedition 34

"The frozen forest. Just looks like a...frozen forest." Kai wasn’t impressed

"Duh! What did you expect? A fucking grassland or some shit?"

"Karumi, you don’t have to get smart."

"Well, you don’t have to be dumb."

He had no retort to those words.

"Sir Kai, we have arrived!" Thousands of knights arrived on horses with thousands of mages who landed on the ground after flying.

Kai wasn’t expecting to see them at the moment, so he was surprised that they were there.

"The king works fast, huh? Well, I’m sure you know this place better than I do, so would you guide me through it?" Kai asked

"It will be an honor." The Knight commander took the lead and guided Kai through the frozen forest, the knights and mages following behind.

"This part of the forest was cleared out years ago. No monsters live in these parts anymore, so we can take it easy here. It’s the latter parts where things get dangerous."

Kai used telescopic vision to see further into the forest, spotting thousands of monsters. Snow goblins, snow trolls, snow orgres, snow...monsters. Every monster that he had ever seen but as a snow variant.

"Wow. That’s a lot of trolls." Kai muttered under his breath.

"We’re approaching the cutoff zone."

"Cutoff zone?" Kai asked

"Yes. It’s the zone where our safety will no longer be guaranteed. Once we cross it, danger will come at us from all directions."

"I see. Let’s keep moving then."

Around 25 minutes later, they approached the cutoff zone. Beyond it was the place where the monsters Kai had seen were lurking.

They looked toward the knights and mages, their growls sending vibrations through the bodies of everyone present, but they didn’t attack. The monsters could clearly see everyone and attack whenever they wanted, but they didn’t.

’Hmm.’ Kai placed one foot over the cutoff zone, and a goblin started running toward him. When he removed his foot, the goblin stopped and looked away.

"What the fuck?"

"It’s thanks to Goddess Frostina. She made this boundary for us to keep exploring. Once we clear out these monsters, the cutoff zone will be pushed deeper into the forest." The knight informed Kai

"I see. Well, let’s get this show on the road." Kai waved his hand, and everyone was coated in his mana to prevent them from getting sick by progenitor decay. He couldn’t feel it on these monsters, but he wasn’t gonna take any chances.

"Men! Attack!" The knight held his sword forward. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"Mages! Advance!" The elder mage shouted.

"Karumi, go ahead and have your fun, I’m going to do a bit of investigating."

"Okay!" She took off, killing monsters with her sheer speed alone.

Kai looked around, finding where he sensed the most amount of Progenitor Decay. He walked through the battlefield, monsters attempting to attack him, only to get pulverized in an instant.

When he reached the trees on the other side, he felt a barrier blocking his path.

"Ahh. This barrier is probably the reason why a lot of them got sick. I can feel Progenitor Decay on it." Kai easily opened the barrier, but once he did, a large hand punched him backward.

"OOOOOOF! The fuck?" He looked up, seeing a giant step out of the tear he created in the barrier.

"A fucking giant? This is gonna be fun!"

The giant roared at the top of its lungs and ran toward Kai.

"A giant!"

"Run!"

"Take cover!"

Kai ran toward the giant, a grin on his face as he was excited to take this creature down.

The giant swung its massive arm, striking the ground with such force that it caused a mini earthquake.

Kai avoided it, flipping to the side, then kicked the giant’s elbow in, snapping its bone as it protruded from its skin.

"ARHGHHHHHHHHH!" The giant stumbled backward, pain coursing through its body. It glared at Kai, and anyone could tell that it wanted to kill him.

"What? I broke the arm that you jerk off with? Well, too bad. That’s your fault for not being ambidextrous."

As if understanding what he was saying, the giant charged at Kai with rage in its face, but Kai was faster.

He took out his chain-blades, jumped on the giant’s arm, and started running on it. Then, once he reached the shoulder, he cut off the giant’s arm by circling it extremely fast.

As the arm fell with the giant screaming from the pain, Kai grabbed it, then slammed it against the giant’s face, smashing its head in and killing it.

"Ha! I love adventure!"

"WOOOOOOOO!"

"LETS GOOO!"

"KAI!"

"KAI!"

"KAI!"

As the knights and mages chanted his name, Kai continued to open the barrier to the next part of the forest where tons of giants stood, looking down at the tiny people who were screaming the name of Kai.

"Fuck yeah!" Kai wasted no time and took out all of the giants in a display of pure savagery. He ripped off arms, legs, heads, split giants in half, and overall completely decimated all of them.

Even Karumi joined in to get some of that action.

It was safe to say that everyone there was shocked by their power.

Eventually, they arrived at the furthest place of the frozen forest, where Kai could feel the progenitor decay was the strongest.

"Alright, this is where our journey together ends. All of you stay here and make sure no monster gets past you all. Karumi, you stay as well." Kai demanded

"Fuck that. I’m coming with you."

"While I do want you with me, I can sense an extreme power beyond this point. I don’t know if I’ll be able to protect you if we go together."

Hearing that made Karumi understand that Kai didn’t even know if he was strong enough to handle whatever was deep in the forest.

"Okay, I’ll stay. Come back safely."

He smiled. "I’ll try." Kai opened the last barrier, walking through it, and closed it behind him so no one could follow.

What he saw was a cave, typical, but with a lot of progenitor decay coming out of it.

"Damn. Whatever’s there can’t be normal. I hope it’s like a pond of progenitor decay or something, like that volcano in Eridani."

Kai took a deep breath, then walked into the cave.
