The Informal Tomb Raiding Diary: She is the occupant of the tomb!-Chapter 249 - 250: All-Natural, Pure Public Harm
The Big-headed Bird had no direct contact with Qinghan, except for those scripture-like murmurs.
The sounds were received by the ears and transmitted into the brain, which counted as indirect contact, but since there was no precedent, I didn’t know what Qinghan’s current situation was.
He was stronger than me now, but I could feel him holding back his strength. Perhaps, subconsciously, he knew who was in front of him, just couldn’t fully control his actions.
The Rock Miner stood dumbfounded at the door, and just when I thought I could relax, Qinghan suddenly leapt up, knocked me aside, and ran.
But instead of heading toward the exit, he rushed further into the room, breaking free of the ropes we had barely managed to bind him with.
The head miner reminded me that there was a secret chamber at the back of the room, but they had never gone in, so they didn’t know what was inside.
The door to the secret chamber was a swivel door, without a handle or lock, and Qinghan moved as fast as lightning, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Oh no? We haven’t even transferred the funds yet, you can’t just go off and get into trouble! Saddened, I immediately gave chase.
"Ah—" In my haste, I pushed the door and rushed in, only to find my foot stepping into empty space, my body falling as my hands scrambled around, finding nothing to grasp onto.
I suddenly remembered a joke about the difference between jumping from the twentieth floor and the second floor, the former being ’ah...thud’, and the latter being ’thud—ah!’
Indeed, this experiment brought insight, except even after a long ’ah’, there was no ’thud’, showing just how deep this hole was.
If the Big-headed Bird hid a root cellar in the room, I could understand, storing some heart and liver for winter, but why would it make a Bottomless Pit? Could it have taken over the lair of the gold-nosed, white-haired mouse spirit?
Splash—
The sound of hitting water told me I had fallen into it, the impact on the surface feeling like being hit by a car.
But before I could adjust my posture to maintain balance, my body was carried downward by the flow.
I could clearly feel the water flowing downward, like a water slide, only with a gentler slope, not as thrilling as a water park ride.
"Chen? Chen—" I had already fallen, Qinghan, who’s not in his right mind, must have fallen too. I struggled in the water, flipped around, and swam downward with more effort.
In the darkness, Qinghan was nowhere to be seen, and no one responded to my shouts.
Earlier, I was secretly delighted, thinking the Big-headed Bird was easy to deal with, like this mission was a relaxing tour.
Never expected the slap in the face to come so fast; not sure what kind of Tightening Spell the Big-headed Bird recited to drive Qinghan insane. It seems there’s a big difference between human and monkey brains; the monkey just gets headaches, at least its mind stays intact.
"Oh dear!" After drifting for about ten minutes, the water suddenly sped up, and then I felt myself suspended, dropping straight down.
This fall wasn’t long, just a few seconds, then I plunged into the water below, where the current was gentle and slow.
It’s a pool, I didn’t know its depth, but my feet couldn’t touch the ground. I surfaced, looked around, and saw another river ahead, flowing slowly, Qinghan should also have stopped here.
I scrambled ashore, when suddenly a broad, powerful hand grasped my wrist; it was definitely not Qinghan’s hand, as it felt furry.
A big hairy hand pulled me up—twice the size of an average adult male’s, it lifted me effortlessly.
I looked up to see a big hairy head, its mane fluffy like a Golden Lion King’s.
"Who are you? Bull Demon King?" I asked, as I tried to pull my hand back. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
At first glance, it looked like a lion king, but a closer look revealed it resembled the Bull Demon King, as two sharp horns were hidden amongst the unruly mane.
On its lush face, like it had dipped in a vat of hair growth essence, two large nostrils puffed steam, which Er Kang would find reassuring, and netizens might shed tears.
"Hey, let me go, or don’t blame me for being unkind!" I ’gently’ tugged my hand twice, but it didn’t come free.
Despite my words, the big hairy face didn’t let go but instead led me forward. It stood over two meters, half a head taller than the Rock Miner, with strong arms like the mechanical arms of a bulldozer.
However, in the face of Karmic Fire, brute strength counts for little; with a couple of spurts, I scorched its fuzzy mane on its head.
It must have felt a chill on its head, quickly reaching to touch its now bald head.
