He had only recently been an Instructor for the Endless Pavilion. When had he been given the position of Protector?
"It is an order from Lord Shadow Scout," the masked Cultivator said, cupping his fist.
"Her order?"
Lu Mingyuan nodded to himself.
’She must have given me the title of Protector for convenience’s sake.’
"How did you know I would emerge from my seclusion today?"
A smile touched the man’s dark-skinned face. "Lord Shadow Scout ordered that no one was to rashly intrude and disturb you unless you emerged from your seclusion, Great Protector. I have been waiting outside your door for two days and a night."
’So that’s how it is?’
Lu Mingyuan couldn’t help but see Luo Ying in a new light. ’That woman really has a way of winning people over.’

Lu Mingyuan said, "So, you’re saying the Liu Family Manor is now the property of Prince Jin’s Mansion?"
"Not exactly. Prince Jin awarded the Liu Family Manor to Lord Shadow Scout long ago. Therefore, Lord Shadow Scout is the true master of this estate," the masked man explained.
Lu Mingyuan nodded and asked no further questions.
The masked man lowered his voice to remind Lu Mingyuan, "The situation is critical. Lord Shadow Scout has summoned all the loyal experts under her command, from all across the one prefecture and twelve commanderies of the Great Yan, to the manor to discuss a matter of great importance."
