The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 190 - 187: Another Bottleneck!
After his brief stay with the Ye Family, Qin Fan left and began to circle Jiangzhou City.
Riding the fluctuations of his True Qi, his Divine Sense covered all of Jiangzhou, yet he could not detect the Blue-Eyed Wolf’s next move.
He returned to No.1 Villa.
Qin Fan locked himself in his room.
He closed his eyes, entered a state of Concentrating Energy, and began circulating the potent True Qi within his Dantian. The Cangqiong Refining Body Decision cultivation technique was summoned from his sea of consciousness, and he became completely lost in a selfless state of focus.
Before long, a layer of frost formed on his face. His entire body slowly began to swell. A green light bloomed on the surface of his skin. As the frost coated his face and his physique grew more massive, the True Qi inside him surged with ever-increasing speed.
The sun began to set in the west, and the curtains of night were slowly drawn.
Having lost all track of time, Qin Fan remained in this state of total oblivion for over four hours.
Suddenly, under the cover of night, his phone buzzed and rang.
Qin Fan, deep in his focused meditation, jolted violently. He snapped open his eyes, which now shone with a golden light.
As his eyes opened, the rapidly swirling True Qi inside him stilled. With the abrupt dissipation of the green light, his swollen, massive body returned to its normal state.
A faint cracking sound came from his face. The dense frost covering his features eerily vanished as if it had never been there.
Another bottleneck! I need to find the right catalyst to advance to the Middle Stage of Foundation Establishment! he muttered with a frown.
Only then did Qin Fan remember the phone still vibrating in his pocket.
"Xiao Fan, where are you? It’s so late, why aren’t you home for dinner?" As soon as he answered, his mother Wei Shuying’s voice came through.
"Mom, I’m at home! I fell asleep and just woke up when the phone rang," Qin Fan said, walking to the French windows. He pulled open the curtains and gazed at the sparse lights twinkling in the night as he yawned, making up an excuse.
"Hurry down and eat! We’re all waiting for you!"
"Okay, I’ll be right there!"
After hanging up, he casually walked into the bathroom, splashed some water on his face, and hurried downstairs.
That night, after a cheerful and harmonious dinner, Qin Fan returned to his room under the pretext of studying.
He pulled the Yellow Paper from his drawer and quickly began to draw Talismans. After reaching the Foundation Establishment realm, his success rate at drawing these basic Talismans was significantly higher than it had been in the Qi Refinement Realm.
Two hours later, thirty-four Talismans floated around him.
He let out a soft breath and stored the Talismans away. Without resting, Qin Fan sat cross-legged. His lips moved rapidly without a sound.
As Qin Fan’s breathing grew more hurried, an invisible energy field seemed to fluctuate outside the villa.
"Shield, form!"
At Qin Fan’s low shout, a hum, imperceptible to the naked ear, was emitted from outside the villa. In the darkness, a circular ripple of energy enveloped the entire estate.
Taking a long, deep breath, Qin Fan stood up and walked back to the French windows. He half-closed his eyes and spread his Divine Sense. A moment later, he murmured softly to himself, Are they making their move? Heh!
After sensing that all was quiet downstairs, he soundlessly dropped from the balcony. He passed through the shield and walked out of the estate.
With a single leap, he landed on the branch of an old tree, propping his legs up as he leaned back. His eyes were closed, but the corner of his mouth curved into a playful smile.
His Divine Sense clearly detected twenty-one hostile Qi Mechanisms surging toward No.1 Villa.
Under the cover of darkness, as the twenty-one Qi Mechanisms advanced at high speed, the very air around the villa complex seemed to freeze. The chirping of insects and the calls of birds fell silent. A suffocating pressure began to spread through the hot night air.
At that moment, the other residents and security guards who were still awake felt an indescribable, formless sense of dread.
This was all because the Blue-Eyed Wolf and his team no longer bothered to suppress the murderous aura they had cultivated over countless years.
"Leader, if something unexpected happens, should we engage the others?" a voice crackled in the Blue-Eyed Wolf’s earpiece as they sped forward.
"No! In my career as an assassin, I never kill those without value! We have only one target. Kill the kid, and we leave Huaxia immediately!" the Blue-Eyed Wolf replied, pushing his earpiece as he strolled leisurely along a mountain path.
"Yes, Leader!" twenty voices responded in unison.
A nearly imperceptible swishing sound immediately rose from the mountainside.
On the large tree branch outside No.1 Villa, Qin Fan’s eyes snapped open.
Gathering his True Qi, he transmitted his voice with contempt, "They say the Blue-Eyed Wolf’s team has thirty members. Nine are dead, so it seems the rest of you have arrived. Excellent. In that case, let the show begin!"
When Qin Fan’s voice reached the ears of the twenty-one men, including the Blue-Eyed Wolf, they all froze.
Damn it! We’ve been exposed?
"Leader!" someone said over the communication channel.
"Continue the mission! Surround and assault!" the Blue-Eyed Wolf commanded fiercely after a brief pause.
"Yes, Leader!"
Yet as they responded, the twenty men couldn’t help but tremble. Their elite kill squad had not suffered a single casualty in three years, but just half a day ago, they had lost nine members. Now, they had been detected before even getting close to their target. The situation filled them all with a long-forgotten sense of unease.
But facing the Blue-Eyed Wolf’s command, they had no choice.
The moment they replied, Qin Fan moved.
He vanished from the tree like a silent phantom, so fast that not even an afterimage was left behind in the night.
First one! In a swift maneuver, Qin Fan appeared behind a member of the kill squad. His five fingers clamped around the back of the man’s neck as he smiled faintly.
Then, he squeezed and flung the man aside.
The man didn’t even make a sound as he died, his body collapsing to the ground like a sack of mud.
"Talismans, come!" Qin Fan licked his lips, muttering to himself. Two Talismans materialized out of thin air. He grabbed them and stuffed them inside the dead man’s clothes.
His figure moved again.
Executing the same sneak attack from behind, members of the kill squad fell one after another. And, just like the first, each had two Talismans stuffed on his person.
Seventh!
Thirteenth!
Seventeenth!
Nineteenth!
He continued to count with a light chuckle.
In less than five minutes, the kill squad that had made countless powerful politicians and dignitaries tremble in fear was reduced to just two men: the Blue-Eyed Wolf and one other.
Feeling the suffocating silence on the communication channel, the Blue-Eyed Wolf, still three to four hundred meters from No.1 Villa, suddenly stopped. "What’s happening?" he asked, a corner of his mouth twitching.
"Leader!" the last remaining member whispered, not yet realizing that Qin Fan had already appeared behind him.
"Shit! Everyone else, sound off!" After three seconds of hearing only one voice, a terrible premonition washed over the Blue-Eyed Wolf. He stared toward No.1 Villa and roared grimly.
"They can’t make a sound anymore. They’re dead. And Mr. Blue-Eyed Wolf, you’ll be joining them soon!"
Behind the last team member, the silent, ghost-like Qin Fan suddenly appeared in front of him. With one hand, he seized the man’s throat; with the other, he ripped the man’s earpiece off and spoke into it with a taunting tone.
