THE RISE OF AN OMEGA-Chapter 19: My Mysterious Trainer
Kira’s POV
I had been training for days now; after the incident with the human child a few weeks ago, I had been trying to tap into that power, telekinesis power, but I couldn’t; it was a tough one for me.
I had relived that moment several times, trying to find out how I had been able to harness such power, but all to no avail. Ryker, who I thought might be able to help me, had been busy with pack duties for weeks now.
We barely even spoke. Sometimes it felt like I had been abandoned. A few times I had gone to the palace to check on him, I had met him with Isabella.
Ryker had told me that nothing was going on between him and Isabella, but most times, the position I had seen both of them seemed otherwise.
"Anytime I went there, I always made sure Ryker noticed my presence, but he always seemed more engrossed in his discussions—whether with his beta, some pack members, or Isabella. But mostly, it was Isabella. I knew I shouldn’t feel this way, but it was as if I had been dumped."
Don’t get me wrong, we were not dating neither had we discussed anything about that, but... I felt there was a connection between us. I felt something was brewing, but I guess I was giving myself too much credit to think that an alpha wolf would have anything to do with someone like me.
Even with my moonkeeper abilities, I guessed I still wasn’t strong enough, wasn’t good enough. What made me stop going to his palace finally was the day I saw him hug Isabella. They were looking all lovey-dovey and stuff.
"So, I decided to leave to avoid giving myself unnecessary headaches and heartaches. Since then, all I did was wake up, train, find something to eat, and train again. That had become my normal routine."
"One fateful day, while going about my usual routine, I was visited by someone. I had barely noticed her a few times during pack meetings and training at the palace grounds. But the few times I did, I caught her staring."
But I always dismiss any thoughts that threaten to arise. She looked innocent and had this baby-innocent face, so I didn’t think she could be of any harm. I just thought she was amazed by the fact that an omega wolf could be something... more.
Judging from her stance I could tell that she was a beta wolf. Beta soldiers had this guard they tended to put on; they were always ready for the fight anywhere and anytime.
"Wow!" She exclaimed
I turned to look around to see a young lady around the same age as me, with blue eyes and long dark hair; we had the same height, and her body structure was more like... perfect.
She had this mix of a warrior and damsel body; I guess it’s safe to say she was looking like a damsel warrior or a warrior damsel.
"Uhm, hi", I said, not sure exactly what I was supposed to say.
"Oh my gosh, is this how you train every morning" She said
"I guess so" I replied coldly
"I have always been watching you ever since your fight with the female alpha." She said coming closer 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Oh, I see"
"Don’t get me wrong, I am not obsessed with you, neither am I stalking you; I am just impressed."
"Impressed?" I scoffed
"Yes I was, I still am, seeing the way you train?" She smiled
"I am not so sure there’s something impressive about me," I said, looking away.
She chuckled, "Said the one who took down a female alpha. This woman has defeated so many male alphas in the past, but she wasn’t able to defeat you. I’m sure she must be very angry by now," she laughed hysterically.
I stood there, speechless, unsure of how to respond.
"I’m Mira, by the way," she said, extending her hand for a handshake. "It’s nice to meet you... I mean, one-on-one like this. I’ve seen you before, but... oh my gosh, I’m talking too much, aren’t I?" She brought her other hand close to her mouth as if trying to cover it to stop herself from speaking.
I extended my hands to shake her too
"Uhm, yes, you are talking too much", I chuckled.
"Okay, I have to go now; I hope to see you again soonest,", she said, smiling and then left.
I watched as she faded away, I felt glad that someone else noticed me. There was something about Mira I couldn’t quite place. She had this mixed aura.
The kind that you are not sure if you can trust this person, but you also have a strong feeling that you can trust her too. It’s complicated.
But still, I wished she would come to my training every single day and maybe keep me company. Emilia had come a few times, but she was barely around. Being a pack doctor is a challenging and time-consuming job for her.
The other four people, Marcus, Clara, Alex and Sabrina, were palace wolves; they were among the strongest wolves in the pack, so they had to be with the pack alpha. They barely had time to do anything else.

I stood up, to continue my normal morning routine. I went outside to train this time I was shocked to see someone pacing to and fro as if waiting for me.
"Mira?" I called out
She turned smiling "I thought you wouldn’t come out to train today."
"I try not to miss my training; for me to be able to succeed as the moon keeper, I have to be strong; if I am not strong, I might end up putting the life of every wolf in existence in jeopardy and I honestly don’t want that."
"Come on you need to give yourself some credit girl" she said
We kept talking for a while, and she offered to train alongside me that day. I agreed; we began to train together, sometimes sparring. I must confess that Mira was good for a beta wolf.
There was something off about her skills and techniques; they didn’t resemble the skills and techniques used by Ryker’s wolves. She was able to use their techniques as well, but she relied more on these strange methods.
It threw me off guard many times, but I was still able to win. These skills seem familiar, like I had seen someone else perform these skills, someone who wasn’t in Ryker’s pack, but the picture was not clear in my head.

"You look like something is bothering you?" Mira asked
We had been training every day for the past two weeks, and on this particular day, after our usual training and sparring, I had sat down quietly in front of my home, trying to get a clearer picture of who I saw with the same skills and techniques Mira possessed.
"Uhm, I am fine, Mira, do not worry yourself", I said, feigning a smile.
"Nah! You don’t look like you are fine... come on spill" she said slightly nudging Me with her shoulder
I decided to say something since she wasn’t looking like one who would accept ’NO’ for an answer.
I decided to tell her about my telekinesis ability, which I had been trying to work on for a while.
"About a month ago, I experienced my first telekinesis ability" I paused for a while. "There was this human child in danger. I saved them with my telekinetic ability, but I didn’t know how I did it."
"Have you attempted training to see if you could achieve the same result again?"
"I have been trying to redo what I did for a while now, but I can’t", I said, covering my face with my hands.
"Okay I think I can help with that" she said smiling
I wasn’t sure if I heard her correctly, but she said it again; I was reluctant because I never thought that she could help me out.
After so many cajoling I finally agreed.
She asked me if I could remember what was in my mind when I saw the child falling from the mountaintop. Honestly, I hadn’t thought about it; I wasn’t sure I was thinking about anything at that point.
I began to think, it took time for me to realise that I had imagined being able to stop Her from where I stood after I had made the calculations that no amount of race speed or jumping speed could save the child.
I told Mira about it, and she told me to try to do that again.
"Now we would start with lifting small objects" " she said, placing a stone in front of me. "Try lifting this"
I tried for a long time, but I couldn’t. Mira kept encouraging me not to give up, but I couldn’t do it anymore. I felt like maybe that power was just for that moment; maybe it was not something for me to own, master and harness.
Mira encouraged me to give it one last try, which I did, and alas, I was able to lift the stone even though it didn’t last on air, but I was happy I could lift it with my mind.
"Progress," Mira said smiling
We called it a day.
Mira kept coming for training, and she kept helping me to master my telekinetic power. We became quite close. Sometimes, she would even sleep over at my place until something happened.....
