Chapter 915: Chapter 915: Leaving The Tian City

Lou Qian was also extremely happy with the result. His cultivation had been stuck at the same level for a long time. He had indeed wanted to buy a breakthrough pill before, but everyone knew how expensive those pills could be. Not to mention, most breakthrough pills were sold through auctions, which made their value and price continue to rise.

"Dad, let’s take the pills together. Mom should take one too." Lou Qian suggested.

"I am already old, and the same goes for your mother. You should keep the pill for someone younger or someone who needs it more." Lou Man replied.

"Dad, if you manage to break through, you will be able to live even longer. So we should start cultivating seriously and try to break through." Lou Qian persuaded his father earnestly.

Lou Man remained silent for a long moment. He carefully considered what his son had said. However, he still needed to ask his wife’s opinion first. If they were going to pursue cultivation again, they would do it together. After all, he wished to remain by his wife’s side until the very end of his life.

...

Bai Xifeng finally arrived at the city gate.

A carriage was waiting nearby. She glanced around and soon noticed the guard from yesterday standing beside it. Only then did she realise that the carriage belonged to Yao Huifang. The guard also spotted Bai Xifeng and quickly reported her arrival to his master.

He then opened the carriage door respectfully.

"Young Lady Bai, please." The guard said with a slight bow.

"Thank you," Bai Xifeng replied with a polite nod.

She stepped forward and entered the carriage.

"Sister Bai!" Zhang Mingzhu exclaimed happily the moment she saw her.

"Mingzhu, sit properly. Otherwise, you might fall." Yao Huifang gently reminded her daughter.

"Mom, can I sit beside Sister Bai?" Zhang Mingzhu asked eagerly.

"You should ask Auntie Si." Yao Huifang replied.

Zhang Mingzhu immediately turned toward Si Tang. "Auntie Si, can you switch seats with me?" She asked sweetly.

Si Tang smiled warmly. "Of course, my dear. The seat is yours."

"Yes!" Zhang Mingzhu cheered excitedly.

They quickly exchanged seats. Zhang Mingzhu happily leaned against Bai Xifeng and began chatting with her enthusiastically. She asked many questions about the school. Bai Xifeng patiently answered her while sharing several interesting stories about school life. Of course, some of those stories actually came from her memories of the school in her previous life.

Soon, they left Tian City behind them. The journey would take nearly a full day before they reached Lotus City. Everyone expected the trip to be smooth and peaceful.

However, fate had other plans. Suddenly, several figures dressed in black appeared ahead of the road, blocking the carriage. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

The driver pulled the reins sharply, and the carriage came to a violent stop. The sudden halt caused the carriage to shake violently. Everyone inside lost their balance and fell toward the floor.

Bai Xifeng reacted instantly. She quickly grabbed Zhang Mingzhu and pulled her close. Otherwise, the girl’s head would have slammed directly against the hard floor.

"What happened?" Yao Huifang asked anxiously as she pulled aside the curtain.

"Madam, please remain inside the carriage. We are being attacked by a group of unknown individuals." The guard reported urgently.

"Do you know who they are?" Yao Huifang asked.

"No. They have all covered their faces." The guard replied.

"It must be someone sent by that woman." Si Tang suddenly said.

"You mean...?" Yao Huifang’s eyes flickered with realisation.

"Yes. My father’s concubine. She likely wants to eliminate me first. Once I am gone, she will deal with my mother next." Si Tang said calmly, though a trace of bitterness lingered in her voice.

Bai Xifeng quietly listened to their conversation. It seemed there was quite a complicated family conflict behind this ambush.

Before anyone could say another word, a violent surge of elemental energy suddenly struck the carriage.

Boom!

One of the wheels shattered instantly. The carriage tilted violently and began to collapse to one side.

"We need to get out now. Our chances of survival are much higher outside than staying trapped inside this carriage." Bai Xifeng said quickly.

"Hmm..." Yao Huifang and Si Tang both nodded in agreement.

Without hesitation, Bai Xifeng kicked the carriage door open. The wooden door burst outward.

"Move!" She commanded.

Everyone quickly jumped out of the carriage. The moment the last person escaped, another powerful attack crashed down onto the carriage.

Boom!

The entire carriage exploded into splinters. If they had remained inside even a moment longer, they would have been seriously injured. But the danger was far from over. Now that they were exposed outside, the black-clothed assassins could target them much more easily.

One of the assassins suddenly charged straight toward Si Tang. Si Tang reacted immediately. She drew her sword in a flash of silver light and blocked the incoming strike.

Clang!

The clash of metal echoed through the air. It was clear that the assassins were targeting her specifically.

"Escape!" Si Tang shouted to Yao Huifang.

Yao Huifang quickly grabbed Zhang Mingzhu’s hand. However, the assassins did not allow them to flee so easily. Several black-clothed figures rushed toward Yao Huifang and Zhang Mingzhu.

Before their attacks could reach them, Bai Xifeng stepped forward. Her movement was calm and effortless. She casually raised her leg and delivered a powerful kick.

Bang! The attacker was instantly sent flying backwards like a broken kite.
