The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance-Chapter 2: Imprisoned
Chapter 2 - Imprisoned
Violet pushed both of them back, mustering up the strength to finally do so. She stood up, her legs shaking. Those widened hazel eyes did not hide the shock in them.
Slowly, it was coming to her.
"You two planned it? Why?" Violet asked.
Mathew straightened up. There was a cruel smile on his face that didn't reach his eyes.
"Blame it on your desperation. You wouldn't have slept with another man if you were not desperate and foolish."
"You're my mate!? How could you do this to me? You are supposed to love and protect me? That's your instinct, your nature as my mate! You're—"
Violet's voice was stopped as a loud slap fell on her face. The man then grabbed her throat tightly, raising her high. Veins popped out on his wrist, and his eyes flashed red, reflecting the rage in them.
"What nature? What instinct? I am beyond them! I am not pathetically controlled by fate! I write my own destiny! I can choose whom to love and protect!" He expressed.
Bella stepped forward and placed her hand on the man's arm in an attempt to placate him. "Calm down, Alpha. It won't be worth it if you kill her so easily."
The exchange of gazes between them finally made something clear to Violet.
Mathew harshly released her throat. Finally, getting free from suffocation, Violet stumbled backwards, trying to stabilize herself. Her eyes flashed golden, and tears gathered at the corner of her eyes.
"You cheated on me with her?" Violet asked— the impact from earlier had her voice broken.
Mathew spat out, "I told you I will choose my own destiny. What cheating!? I never wanted to be with you in the first place!"
Violet was too overwhelmed by her emotions to figure out how to react. A mocking chuckle left her mouth, and she didn't know who that was directed to.
"Ah, so, you think you are the victim?" Violet questioned. "Well then, you didn't have any shame in accepting all of my help up until now!
When you're ostracized by the entire pack because your mother was a homewrecker, you're a bastard born out of an affair, I was the one who was there for you. I protected you and made it possible for you to survive in the pack.
And now you're backstabbing me? What a good dog you are! You're exactly like that lowly father of yours that you despise. It is in your blood to go after prostitutes. After all, you're born dirty—"
Violet's outburst was stopped with Mathew slapping her cheek once again. Her head went dizzy at the impact, but she kept it all within her to not fall down.
"This is why I hate you! Because of your high and mighty attitude! You think everyone owes you because you were a little kind to them. What even are you? I got here because of my own self, my own skills, not because of someone like you." Mathew's tone was laced with ridicule.

"Because of yourself? How would a lowly blood like you become an Alpha if not for me? I am the one who put you in this position, and this is my pack!" Violet yelled, trying to transform into her beastly form.
However, no matter how she tried, there was a tightening in her chest, preventing her from taking on her wolf form. There was a suffocation fermenting within her, as though a tight lid pressed down on the rising vapor. She was unable to push through it.
Her eyes widened at the realization. This has never happened to her before.
What could be the reason?
There was a smile playing on Bella's lips. "What is it? Could it be that you're trying to transform but you're unable to do so?"
Violet's heart fell to the bottom of her stomach.
"Did you do anything?" Her voice shook. The wolf was an important part of her self. Without it, she would be an incomplete individual, just like any other werewolf.
"Maybe because you have committed too many sins that you lost your wolf," Bella commented.
Her body trembled. The last string of rationality within her snapped as she leaped forward in an attempt to attack Bella. But it was futile, as Mathew pushed her away, protecting Bella behind him.
In her weakened state, Violet crashed against the ground. But this didn't dampen her determination as she tried to get up.
Then, an order left Mathew's mouth. "Come and hold her!"
A moment of hesitation crossed through two warrior wolves faces before they stepped forward and each of them grabbed on to one of her arms, keeping her kneeling.
Violet was in a state of disbelief to find her pack members turn their back on her. Her heart sank.
In a cracked voice, she questioned, "My father was the previous Alpha of the pack. What has he not done for each one of you? Now, you are choosing to side with the traitor?"
The pack members looked away from her, expressing their guilt and difficulty. Violet tried to get up, wanting to express her will, but the force pushed her down to the ground.
Bella scoffed.
"This is a useless fight you're putting up, Violet. There is no one on your side anymore. It must be because of all the harm you caused that the repercussions are finally catching up to you," Bella stated.
There was nothing Violet could do more than laughing at her fate. Few days ago, she was going to bed, content with how perfect her life was, and now she ended up so miserably with no one on her side.
The last spirit in her crashed, and she didn't attempt to put up a fight anymore.
She lost at the end.
What had she done to deserve all this?
Could it be that she has truly wronged others?
The self defeating expression on her face only elicited only hatred and disgust from Mathew. He let out a cruel command.
"Break her hands and throw her into the dungeon."
The next instant, an intense scream left Violet's mouth. Her arms were twisted and dislocated from the shoulder bone before her body was grabbed and she was dragged elsewhere.
