The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance-Chapter 3: Escape
Chapter 3 - Escape
Although Violet initially resisted being thrown in the prison, her willpower was subdued by the days she spent in this damp, dirty, and smelly space. She laid weakly on the ground, not being provided any food or water.
Violet had no clue on how long it had been. Her wolf being suppressed affected her healing abilities greatly, and her arms were terribly swollen.
Her once clean self was covered in grime and filth. Occasionally, she could feel the leering eyes and rude comments of the prisoners. In the beginning, they made her tremble, but now, her soul remained unaffected.
She had no idea how much tears she had spent until now. There was nothing more she wished for this to be a nightmare she eventually woke up from.
But the aches all over her body, the biting hunger, desperate thirst, and all the humiliation that replayed in her mind made her realize how very much real the moment was.
This made her miss her father.
She recalled how devastated she was when her father passed away. He was the only family member she had. When she thought she lost her world, Mathew was there beside her.
He comforted her and promised to protect her, just like her dad. And when she trusted all she had to him, he pushed her to this purgatory.
Violet was brought out of her thoughts when she heard the sounds of the prison door unlocking. Even though she was initially caught off guard, Violet didn't have energy to elicit any response.
The clicking of the heel against the floor resonated.

Just as Violet was about to close her eyes, the pointed heel placed on the bottom of her chin, raising her head high.
Violet's eyes met with Bella's.
Those hazel eyes burned with rage.
That made Bella look down at her with contempt and disgust, knowing how helpless Violet was.
"Did you ever think you would reach this state when you're being arrogant?" Bella asked.
When leaning down, Bella's eyes flashed red for a second before she lashed out, "See, Violet, you were always favored by fate. You had everything I could dream of, but now, look at you, being trampled by me.
You treated me, Alpha, and everyone around you like pets. Whenever you felt like it, you generously gave charity. We had to be at your beck and call everyday, praise you, be in your good favors.
Why? Why do I need to submit to you!? Obviously I am much better than you. Why should you be superior to me? And now, everything is on the right path. Everyone is where they belong!"
Bella laughed after that.
The inferiority complex within her couldn't be hidden. And Violet found it laughable how her well intentions to help a friend led to her doom.
Bella had a miserable childhood. Her parents passed away when she was young, and staying at the orphanage wasn't easy for the werewolf children, as they shared possessive and competitive tendencies.
However, Bella's attitude when it came to persevering through all difficulties and not letting life push her down attracted Violet to form friendship with her.
Violet didn't ever think her intentions will be twisted in this manner.
Unable to hold back the anger within her, Violet spat at her face, glaring at her.
Wiping away the saliva from her face indifferently, Bella stood up straight indifferently and stated, "It seems that you have still not learnt your lesson. Today, I will make you beg me."
The sadistic expression on Bella's face made chill travel down her spine.
"Someone, lock her to the shackles. I will personally take care of her today," Bella voiced out.
Just as her orders well, a guard stepped forward and raised Violet's body from the ground. Once four of her limbs were shackled to the wall, Bella grabbed the whip brought over to her. The torture instrument was covered in thorns.
Violet's body instinctively trembled at it, and fear in her eyes made Bella pleased.
She raised the whip high and struck hard against Violet's chest. The sharp pain permeating through her body made Violet unable to breathe for a second, and her mind went blank.
An instinctive cry left her mouth.
Consecutives hits followed after that. The attacks made her lose her senses, and she was barely hanging on there. But biting down on her tongue, although she felt her spirit slowly breaking apart, she refused to utter the words Bella most wanted to hear.
After a while of striking her, Bella noticed that she had lose her consciousness. Although she wasn't yet done with her, knowing that Violet will only die if she continued, she had her released and thrown away.
"Get her some food, and make sure she doesn't die," Bella ordered.
It would be boring if Violet died so soon.

The next time Violet opened her eyes, she noticed that although she was still in old, dirty clothes, the wounds on her body has been medicated.
Instead of feeling relieved, she instinctively knew something worse was waiting for her.
Her eyes then fell on the food in front of her. A hard, stale bread along with a barely filled glass of water was present.
Previously, Violet wouldn't consider this to be human food, but the nagging hunger in her made her scarf down the food.
Then, she raised her head when she heard the sound of door opening. Thinking that Bella had returned, she tightly grabbed on the bread.
However, a petite figure covered in cloak entered the prison cell. Violet's confusion was cleared when she removed the hood from her face, revealing a pair of reddened eyes.
"Luna, what have they done to you? This is all my fault. I couldn't protect you. I should have protected you that day," Emma spoke through her sobs.
Seeing the heartbroken girl in front of her, Violet's heart throbbed. After being coldly treated by everyone, having someone care for her made her feel comforted.
Emma quickly wiped away the tears from her eyes.
"I will get you out of here. Although I can't retrieve the pack for you, at least when you are out of here, you won't be subjected to any pain. I don't know what else these monsters have prepared for you."
Although Emma's offer tempted her, Violet shook her head. She knew that the entire pack was in Mathew's control and couldn't let her put herself in danger.
"It won't work. They won't spare you. You don't have to risk it for me," Violet stated.
Emma grabbed on to Violet's hand and raised her body. She then smiled at Violet and spoke out, "I have already drugged the guards. They will eventually catch me and kill me. That's why, why don't we escape the pack together? I will protect you, Luna. I owe this to the Alpha."
Tears stung at the corner of her eyes. These few days made her feel as though she didn't deserve any love or sympathy.
Emma was taken in by her dad from outside the pack when her parents passed away from a rogue attack. She was brought over to their house as a playmate to Violet.
Although she was much younger than Violet, she always ran behind Violet and stuck to her, growing up. This made Violet treat her like a younger sister.
Violet nodded.
"Let's get out of here together and live well," she uttered.
"We will, Luna." There was a promise in her voice.
