The Royal Mark-Chapter 354: The Death of You
Nathaniel, soars above after witnessing Chris’ plight. He knew Chris must be stopped or else, he might not be able to go back to his human form and completely lose himself forever before eventually dying.
Determined to help, he swooped down to intervene, but Mordrak anticipated his move. A blast of dark energy struck Nathaniel mid-air, sending him crashing to the ground. He lay there, struggling to rise, his wings damaged and his body battered, he was bleeding all over.
Just as despair began to settle in, a brilliant light illuminated the battlefield. The divine mages had arrived, their presence radiating an aura of hope and power. They quickly assessed the situation and moved to aid Nathaniel.
"Hold still, Nathaniel," one of the mages commanded, their hands glowing with divine energy. They chanted in unison, their magic flowing into Nathaniel, mending his wounds and filling him with holy power.
Nathaniel felt a surge of strength and clarity as the divine magic coursed through him. His wings healed, and his entire being glowed with a holy light.
"Stop! What are you doing?!" Nathan shouted to the divine mages.
"We are giving back what is yours. You had put us to sleep for this exact situation. You are the only one who could defeat the son of the devil himself," one of the elder mages said.
"No! You will lose your divine magic if you do this! It will not give me back my power, it will just let me use yours until everything gets drained!" Nathaniel retorted.
"That’s the plan. It’s all yours, we will still have our elemental magic. Please accept it and save your daughter, save the whole Vectus, just like how you protected us before!"
Nathaniel nodded and did not argue anymore. It might be just a temporary and limited power but it will be enough to defeat Mordrak.
Once the healing was done and the holy power of the divine mages was transferred, Nathan rose to his feet and faced Mordrak, determination burning in his eyes.
"Your reign of terror ends here, Mordrak," Nathaniel declared, his voice echoing with divine authority.
Mordrak snarled, launching another attack. But this time, Nathaniel was ready. Empowered by the divine mages, he deflected Mordrak’s dark energy with ease and countered with a burst of holy light. The two forces clashed spectacularly, the ground trembling beneath them.
Meanwhile, Chris, still in his enraged wolf form, continued his assault on Mordrak. His strikes were wild but powerful, driven by his unyielding determination to protect his people and family, holding to the last thread of consciousness that he had.
Nathaniel soared above once more, combining his aerial agility with divine magic. He rained down beams of holy light on Mordrak, each one weakening the demon king further. The divine mages lent their support from the ground, their elemental spells bolstering Nathaniel’s attacks.
The battle raged on, the combined efforts of Nathaniel, Chris, and the divine mages gradually overwhelming Mordrak. With a final, devastating strike, Nathaniel unleashed a concentrated beam of divine light, piercing through Mordrak’s defenses and striking him down.
Mordrak let out a final, anguished roar before collapsing to the ground, defeated. The battlefield fell silent, the once overpowering presence of the demon king now vanquished.
A black and purple portal suddenly appeared beside King Mordrak. A dark mist came out of it covering the demon king before he and the portal completely disappeared.
"Where did he go?" one of the mages asked in confusion.
"Back to hell, with his father, where he belongs," Nathaniel uttered before looking for Chris who was thrown away when he attacked Mordrak with his holy beams.
Chris, exhausted and heavily injured, slowly regained control, his wolf form receding. He collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily but relieved. Nathaniel landed beside him, extending a hand.
"You fought bravely, Son. We did it," Nathaniel said, his voice filled with gratitude and respect.
Chris nodded weakly with a smile.
"Don’t move, let me heal you with my remaining power," Nathaniel said as he hovered his hands on Chris’ wounds.
Inside the castle...
The other mages and werewolves managed to infiltrate and eliminate every demon in sight. However, Andrius and Drake still couldn’t find their sister.
"Where the heck did Milda go?" Drake exclaimed, utterly frustrated.
"King Andrius! Prince Drake! Follow me, I can smell her scent!" Hoven called out, and the brothers quickly followed him.
They ran as fast as they could to keep up with Hoven’s werewolf speed until they reached the west wing of the castle where Milda’s room was located.
Bursting into the room, they found Milda chanting spells while absorbing the life force of four human women. A black and purple portal began to materialize before her. Milda turned to face them, a sinister smile on her lips.
"Till we meet again, brothers," she said sarcastically, laughing as she stepped towards the portal.
"No!" Andrius shouted, rushing forward, but it was too late. Milda stepped into the portal, her laughter echoing in the room.
The portal closed behind her, leaving Andrius, Drake, and Hoven standing amidst the eerie silence. The four women collapsed, freed from Milda’s grasp but severely weakened and almost dying.
"She’s gone," Drake said, his voice filled with a mixture of anger and despair.
"We’ll find her," Andrius vowed, clenching his fists. "This isn’t over."
Hoven nodded in agreement. "We need to get these women to safety and regroup with the others. Milda’s escape means she has more evil plans in motion."
As they carefully carried the women out of the room, the brothers exchanged determined glances. Their battle was far from over, and they knew they had to prepare for whatever dark schemes Milda had in store for them next.
Back to the castle’s back exit...
Nathaniel was able to heal Chris back to full health. He extended his arm, helping Chris to get up. He stared at Chris for a while before saying, "Son, you cannot shift anymore. That was your last. The next time you let your wolf out, it will be the death of you."
