Chapter 377: Good Impression

Everyone went their separate ways after Elsa and Nathan’s departure as they all agreed that it was the best thing to do. By doing that all of them would be able to move on slowly as time heals of their hearts.

However, Valeria and Allister decided to stay with Hera after finding out that Marina went to Novus as well. They don’t want to leave their daughter alone at least for a few weeks until she’s back on her feet even though she told her parents that she’ll be fine on her own.

It was a different case for Chris though. He stayed in front of the portal for hours without eating until the next morning came. Hoven and the rest of the elite alphas tried to give him food but he refused and didn’t move an inch until trouble found him.

"Where is that mongrel?!!!" Elandir’s voice roared near the portal. He sounded full of wrath and fury.

Chris sighed, knowing what was causing his anger. He finally turned around and saw an angry Elandir approaching him. He did not move from his spot and waited for his friend to reach him.

"YOU!!!" Elandir yelled as he grabbed Chris’ collar. "YOU ARE A FUCKING TRAITOR!"

The next thing that Chris knew was that he was thrown into the bushes near the portal.

Everyone gasped and was ready to stop Elandir but Hoven stopped them.

Chris stood up and Elandir’s fist came flying to his jaw. He dropped to the ground once again, but this time, he didn’t stand up anymore after seeing his best friend walking towards him.

Elandir straddled Chris and gave his all in throwing punches at his face. "Fucking fight back you bastard!" Elandir screamed with fury. But Chris stayed still and welcomed Elandir’s punches with open arms until he got tired.

"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK THIS LIFE! FUCK ALL OF YOU!" Elandir shouts his heart out before rolling over to Chris’ side and burying his face in his knees as he wailed loudly.

Chris sat up and spit out the blood from his mouth. His face was fully beaten up, all swollen and bloody. He patted Elandir’s shoulder before standing up and heading toward the table where the elite alphas placed his food.

He took a bottle of water and drank all of its contents before grabbing two bottles of wine. He gave one of the bottles to Elandir as he sat beside him. "You know, if you are not satisfied yet, we could go to my dungeon and we can beat up some of the demons that we caught before."

"Shut up!" Elandir exclaimed making Chris smirk. He removed the cork of the bottle and drank the wine.

The two sat on the ground drinking side by side as they stared at the portal.

"What’s with those two?" Blake asked Hoven as they watched their King and Elandir drink together without speaking to each other.

"I never understood those two. Come on, let’s pack up and wait for him on the ship," Hoven answered.

"Are you sure we can now leave the King?" Gavin questioned. He was worried that those two might brawl again.

"Yeah, he will be fine. They might still beat up each other later but they won’t kill one another," Hoven said and started packing the food it’s containers that Hera’s servants brought to them.

Elandir and Chris sat alongside each other while speaking until they finished up their bottles.

Elandir was the first one to finish and immediately stood up. "Once you’re done, get your ass off my kingdom, and don’t show your face for the next five hundred years." He wiped his mouth and threw away the bottle.

Chris scoffed and uttered, "As if I am still alive by that time. Man up you pussy. She will be fine there. Marina has always been independent. You are lucky, you can still see her someday. Unlike me who is stuck in this world and dying."

Chris stood up and wiped his mouth. He flinched when he accidentally hit his swollen lips. "Damn, you’ve beaten me good."

"What did you say?" Elandir said.

"I said you have beaten me good, you piece of shit! Do you really have to hit me that much?!" Chris yelled at him.

"No not that, before that."

"That I’m dying? There’s no cure for me Elandir, so yes, she went to Kurzen and risked her life for nothing." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"I’m sorry... I should’ve at least gone with her. This wouldn’t have happened."

"Let’s not cry over spilled milk. Be a good King like how Marina pictured you. Send me a letter when you visit Novus, I’ll be waiting patiently." Chris patted Elandir’s shoulder before walking away.

He kept walking without stopping as he headed to the port. The port is quite far from the portal but he didn’t want to ride a horse or a carriage. He wanted to just walk and be alone.

’Aren’t we going to say goodbye to Hera and her family?’ Yakobo asked.

’No, we are not. She will remind me of Elsa’s hair and eyes. That red hair that Rocco also has. It’s better this way... Tell me Yakobo, did I do the right thing?’

’Yes, you did. There’s no point in going with her there only to re-introduce yourself create new happy memories and then die later on. She will only be in pain. It’s better for her to start in a clean slate,’ Yakobo replied.

’Thank you for reminding me. Let’s use our remaining days to improve Arcanis. So when we finally say our last goodbye, we will leave a legacy that our family would be proud of. I might be the King who ruled Arcanis in the shortest amount of time but I won’t be the worst.’

’That’s the spirit. Let’s make our mate proud even if she won’t be able to remember us. Who knows, maybe one day, Rocco or one of your offspring will return to Arcanis and get to know you at least you will leave them with a good impression.’

Yakobo’s statement made Chris smile and he thought, ’If that day would ever come.’
