Chapter 704: Chapter 719: I Will Find Out

"Then thank you, Doctor Li." Han Xi brushed past the old master and thanked Doctor Li.

"It’s nothing, Doctor Han. Let’s go to the office first to prescribe some medicine for the old master."

Han Xi nodded and followed behind Doctor Li, heading towards the office.

Lu Jinghan did not go in with them. He walked to the end of the corridor, took out his phone from his pants pocket, made a call to Housekeeper Li to give some instructions, and then hung up.

He took out a cigarette, tilted his head to light it, took a few heavy puffs, and his deep, inscrutable black eyes were obscured in the light smoke.

When Han Xi and Old Master Lu came out of the office, Lu Jinghan extinguished the cigarette in his hand and strode over.

After picking up the medicine in the lobby, they went home.

In the car, Old Master Lu suddenly spoke from the back seat, "Look into it."

Old Master Lu had just listened to the doctor and his mind was clear. He never takes any medicine wrongly unless someone secretly added such drugs to his regular diet, and that someone is right beside him.

Lu Jinghan glanced at the old master through the rearview mirror, "Don’t worry, Grandfather. I will find out."

Old Master Lu nodded and said nothing more.

The car soon stopped in front of the villa. Lu Jinghan got out, opened the trunk, took out two shopping bags, and went into the house with Han Xi and the rest.

In the living room, Song Mingyuan saw the old master coming in and cheerfully got up, "You’ve finally arrived, Sir."

Old Master Lu smiled and shook Song Mingyuan’s hand, engaging in friendly chitchat.

Lu Jinghan changed his shoes, grabbed the two bags, and headed for the kitchen, where Shen Qiong was busy preparing ingredients with Sister Zhang.

"Aunt Shen, these are the things we just bought."

Hearing the voice, Shen Qiong turned around, still washing vegetables in the basin, "I was just saying I was afraid we won’t have enough and was planning to go out and buy some more this afternoon. You brought your grandfather back, right?"

Lu Jinghan nodded and handed the bags to Sister Zhang, "Yes, he’s in the living room chatting with my dad and the others."

Shen Qiong picked up a napkin from the table, wiped her hands, and lifted the freshly washed fruit platter. With the old master visiting, she needed to greet him. "Sister Zhang, keep busy for a while. I’ll be right back."

"No rush, I can do it myself."

Sister Zhang replied cheerfully. She sincerely thought well of Shen Qiong; all along, she was picking dishes Han Xi liked, saying what’s good for the baby for a pregnant woman to eat, always talking about Han Xi.

In today’s world, there aren’t many good "stepmothers" like Shen Qiong, who genuinely care for Han Xi as if she were her own daughter.

In the living room, the old master laughed heartily at whatever he and Song Mingyuan were discussing.

"Uncle, you’re here. Have some fruit."

Shen Qiong nodded courteously to Old Master Lu and placed the fruit platter on the coffee table in front of him.

"Good, good, good. It’s so lively. I haven’t felt this happy in a long time."

Since Han Xi came back, Song Mengmeng had been glued to Han Xi, holding her newly bought doll and watching cartoons in her embrace.

Lu Jinghan leaned over and fed a small piece of kiwi to Han Xi, "Are you tired? Want to go to the room and rest for a bit?"

They had just gone to the mall and then taken the old master to the hospital. Lu Jinghan was worried that Han Xi might be tired.

Han Xi shook her head with a light smile, "I’m not tired."
