Chapter 1076: It’s Him!

The avatar looked at the spirit of the World Tree for a moment. This city’s World Tree had already reached low pseudo immortal foundation stage, the same as the other World Trees across the empire.

Since he opened the barrier that covered the entire continent, the World Trees across the kingdom that had been trapped at peak emperor stage were able to make breakthroughs.

Now all of them were low pseudo immortal foundation stage beings.

After observing for a moment, Aldrian nodded.

"Rise. I want to ask something of you," he said.

"Is it regarding Vera and Evin’s kidnapping, Your Majesty?" the spirit said as she stood up, revealing her beautiful face.

Her expression was serene while still showing deep respect toward the avatar. Although the avatar was disguised with a different face, the spirit could still recognize him from the feeling she sensed from him. The aura of a body containing golden energy could not be mistaken. Moreover, she was the spirit of the World Tree, which was sensitive to this kind of presence.

Even so, she felt confused about why there were two Aldrians, yet she did not think too deeply about it and simply assumed that Aldrian had his own circumstances that made him use a cloning technique.

Aldrian nodded in response.

"You must have sensed what happened at the time of the incident. It happened near your main body, which I doubt you would fail to notice. You might even have sensed something before the kidnapping. I want to know what you sensed or saw at that time."

The spirit nodded.

"Yes, Your Majesty. Actually, I sensed strange movements from a group of cultivators who entered the city using a cruiser that landed outside the city. This group arrived three months ago," she said.

"They consisted of five people, all of whom possessed pseudo immortal foundation stage cultivation. The strongest among them was at the peak stage, while the rest were at the middle stage."

"They had been observing the Valerin family’s mansion since then, but they did not release any killing intent until Vera and Evin were kidnapped. The event happened so quickly that they killed their guardians and kidnapped them within three seconds, escaping using darkness laws that completely masked their presence."

"I could not sense them after they kidnapped Vera and Evin, but I saw that the cruiser they used departed not long after the kidnapping." The spirit then bowed to the avatar.

"My apologies, Your Majesty. I could not do anything to stop them or prevent it. The moment I moved my real body, it would have caused great panic and might have resulted in unnecessary deaths."

The avatar waved his hand.

"It’s okay. I understand that."

"However, Your Majesty, it’s not like I did nothing while they were still within my domain. Because of their suspicious activities, I already placed a mark on their bodies that allows them to be sensed by every plantation. The World Tree’s mark cannot be detected by them, as it can only be sensed by beings that have a close relationship with nature or the World Tree," the spirit continued.

"If it is Your Majesty, you should easily sense it, and Your Majesty can follow it since it will leave traces everywhere the kidnappers pass."

The avatar smiled.

"Okay, that’s enough. If you already did that, then everything is good. Thank you for helping with the investigation. With your mark on those kidnappers, everything becomes much easier," he said. The spirit finally showed a smile, happy to receive his gratitude.

"It is only what I am supposed to do, Your Majesty. I am glad that I could help you. If there is anything more you want me to assist with, please feel free to command me. I will do my best to help you," she said as she bowed once again.

Aldrian nodded and turned his body, but he did not leave. Instead, he finally opened a connection with his real body. His connection with the real body could be disconnected to prevent disturbing each other and to lessen the burden on the real body’s senses.

The moment he connected himself again to the real body, Aldrian’s real body, which was still on its journey toward the central region of heaven, received the avatar’s knowledge. All of his memories and all of his comprehension, everything the avatar had obtained, became his as well.

The moment Aldrian understood what had happened, he frowned deeply as anger surged from within him. This was also something the two avatars felt when they first heard about Vera and Evin being kidnapped.

Aldrian took a deep breath to calm himself. He did not need anyone to tell him anything anymore, as he already knew what he needed to do.

He spread his domain sense across the Aster Empire, searching for the World Tree’s mark. With the presence of the mark, he did not need to scan every person in the empire one by one, as he only needed to locate the mark itself.

The World Tree’s mark would show a distinct sign when he scanned the entire empire.

If he did not find it within the empire, then he would scan the entire world. Even if it was not found in the Ancient Blue Gate World, he could still follow the mark, as it would leave traces even if the kidnappers escaped into outer space.

Still, he hoped that the kidnappers had not yet escaped from the empire or even from the Ivory Kingdom.

After scanning the empire quickly, he sighed in relief as he sensed that the mark had not yet left the empire. The mark was still inside the moving cruiser, which at this moment was flying toward the core region of the Eternal Sanctuary Forest.

They were already leaving the Ivory Kingdom and were near one of the cities in the core region. He could sense five people, just like what the spirit of the World Tree had described.

Then he saw them. Vera and Evin.

Their hands and feet were tied up, and their heads were covered with black cloth. They lay motionless on the floor inside one of the cabins, unconscious.

His eyes gleamed dangerously as he sent what he had found to the two avatars, along with a message.

"I will teleport one of you to their cruiser. You know what you must do."

The avatars did not respond. The avatar at the World Tree suddenly disappeared, while the avatar near Sylphia informed her,

"We have found the kidnappers’ location. Vera and Evin are with them. My brother is already in pursuit."

Hearing that, Sylphia and Duke Valerin were surprised.

They had already found the kidnappers? That quickly? They had not even been here for more than fifteen minutes!

Sylphia could only show a faint smile. As she expected, the matter would be resolved quickly if he became involved, even if it was only through his avatars.

As for Duke Valerin, he remained shocked before letting out a sigh. Even with the help of the royal family and several noble families, they still could not catch the kidnappers or even find their traces.

However, the people brought by the Empress had located them so quickly?

’As expected, the people entrusted by His Majesty must be extraordinary,’ he thought.

While he and Sylphia felt relieved after receiving the good news, inside one of the moving cruisers flying rapidly toward a city in the core region, Aldrian concealed his presence using his concealment technique.

In front of him, three masked figures sat together inside a cabin illuminated only by a single illumination crystal placed on the table before them.

He did not act immediately and instead listened to their conversation.

"Is the city still far?" one of them, the strongest among them, shouted.

"We are almost there," a voice came from the upper deck of the cruiser.

The figure nodded and looked at the others in the same cabin as him.

"As expected, those were only rumors. There is no way a human could know everything happening inside this vast empire. Even when we are already this close to finally escaping safely, we still have not received any punishment those people talked about," one of the figures said.

"Yes. I was already tense because many said that he could control heavenly lightning and know everything inside this empire. I was truly an idiot for believing it at first, but it seems those people were exaggerating," another said.

The strongest among them remained silent for a moment before speaking.

"Well, even if that is an exaggeration, we still cannot relax before we leave this world. Everything we learned about him while staying in this empire is not something we can simply brush off as exaggeration. As long as we are still inside this empire, we cannot say that we are safe."

The others also fell silent as they understood this.

But suddenly, their bodies became stiff, and none of them could move even an inch. On the deck of the cruiser, the other two figures, their companions, experienced the same thing.

They were shocked as they did not know what had happened. The vessel’s speed slowed down until it finally stopped entirely, floating motionlessly.

The five figures still could not move their bodies and could only move their eyes.

They could not help but feel a sudden chill as sweat rolled down their foreheads.

’What happened?!’ the strongest among them thought.

At that moment, his chill intensified as a figure suddenly manifested from the mist of darkness right beside them.

They were shocked because they had not sensed his presence at all!

Their gazes instinctively tried to see the figure’s face, and the moment they saw it, their bodies trembled.

’It’s him!’ they shouted inwardly at the same time.
