The Shining Star Above The Heaven-Chapter 1077: Bringing Them to Safety
The avatar’s real face was clearly shown before their eyes, and a second later, they decided to blow themselves up.
They did not hesitate to trigger their dantians to explode as they began the circulation process.
However, even before they could make their dantians chaotic, they suddenly felt something pierce their abdomens right where their dantians were located. Pain instantly spread throughout their bodies.
Their eyes trembled as they saw golden blades piercing each of their dantians from behind.
’What?! Since when?’ the strongest among them thought.
They could feel that their dantians had been destroyed by the blades, causing their cultivation to start collapsing. They could no longer commit suicide by self-destruction, as their dantians were already ruined.
The golden blades remained embedded in their bodies when the avatar stretched out his hand toward the strongest among them and touched his forehead.
He looked into his memories, searching for any important information.
As usual, there was a seal inside his mind, but the avatar could easily open it. After his comprehension of formations deepened through studying Xuanji’s formation knowledge, he could more seamlessly break this kind of seal.
After reading some of his books, he gained insight that made his mastery over formations more profound.
The other kidnappers could only watch as their colleague had his memories searched, his reaction clearly showing the pain he endured. They were shocked that the mind seal did not activate and that the avatar successfully broke it without killing the bearer of the seal.
Their hearts trembled, and they instantly knew that they were doomed, not only themselves but their organization as well.
What they had learned from the people here regarding Aldrian was quite terrifying. They even wondered whether all of it was true, as doubt still lingered in their minds. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Still, one thing they learned was that Aldrian was a man who never failed to repay what others did to him. His allies would prosper, while his enemies were always destroyed, no matter how strong or secretive they were.
There was no one who could run from him.
Seeing that he could suddenly appear here so easily, they realized that those stories were mostly true and not exaggerations. They did not understand how he found them when they had already made sure not to leave any traces.
Did that mean the rumors about him being all-knowing and all-hearing were true?
Then why did he only take action now?
After more than a minute, the avatar finally finished searching the memories and lifted his hand. He observed the man, who seemed on the verge of fainting because of the aftereffects of the memory search.
His eyes rolled back, and if not for the spatial lock, his body would have already spasmed.
The avatar then walked behind the man, causing the other kidnappers to wonder what he intended to do.
The avatar touched both sides of the man’s head, and suddenly—
Bzzt! Bzzt! Bzzt!
A buzzing sound could be heard as the others saw their colleague’s body, especially his head, trembling violently. Small strands of lightning appeared around his head, and they could sense the lightning laws being released, making them realize what the avatar was doing.
Their hearts turned cold as the avatar tortured the strongest among them with lightning, frying his brain with it. They could see their colleague’s head starting to blacken, while his flesh and skin began to melt.
A few seconds later—
Splat!
His head exploded, splashing flesh, blood, and brain matter onto them. His body collapsed to the side, and strangely, the avatar was not stained even slightly by the exploding head.
The other kidnappers felt horrified, and it was clearly reflected in their eyes. With the remnants of their colleague on their faces, they felt as if they had fallen into a nightmare, the greatest horror of their lives.
They had already trained for this kind of situation for a long time, but witnessing the avatar’s method of torture and killing filled them with chills and fear.
To instantly inject lightning into the brain and melt everything inside their heads, they could not imagine the kind of pain their colleague had endured before his head exploded.
After killing the strongest among them, the avatar walked toward his next target. They knew they could only wait for death, so they resigned themselves to a horrible end. They had already prepared for such an outcome, as this was the risk of their profession anyway.
There were no sounds of agony. Only buzzing sounds echoed through the cabin before the splat could be heard. The avatar made all of the kidnappers experience the same fate, turning the cruiser into a place of execution.
Inside the cabin where Vera and Evin lay unconscious, the room was dark and completely empty of furniture. They were simply lying on the floor without mattresses or anything covering them.
The door to their cabin suddenly opened, and the avatar entered. There was no stain on his attire even after killing all of the kidnappers, and the atmosphere he carried at this moment resembled that of a bringer of death.
Seeing him alone was enough to raise fear.
However, the moment he saw Vera and Evin, his atmosphere and aura instantly changed, becoming much warmer. The terrifying presence disappeared as if it had never existed in the first place.
Aldrian’s avatar quickly checked their conditions and discovered that they were unconscious under an illusion. There was no injury on their bodies, which made him sigh in relief.
He uncovered their heads and released the bindings on their hands and feet. He then covered them with his energy before teleporting outside.
He looked into the distance where a city was already visible and decided to head there. He continued teleporting until he reached the city, then moved toward the city lord’s mansion.
The city lord of this city had been appointed by the Xin family following the recommendation of the leaders of the other major territories, as well as with his approval.
The avatar’s sudden appearance at the mansion caused shock among some of the guards. They wanted to question him, but the moment they realized who he was, their shock deepened.
"Your Majesty!" they exclaimed, horrified that they had almost questioned the emperor.
"At ease. I want to meet the city lord," the avatar said as he carried the mother and daughter with his energy and walked into the mansion. One of the guards ran to inform the city lord, while another guided the avatar toward one of the guest bedrooms.
The city lord, a middle-aged man with short blonde hair, hurried toward him and entered the room before bowing deeply.
"Your Majesty, my apologies for not receiving you properly. I truly did not expect you to come," he said, his voice filled with regret.
The avatar smiled slightly. "It’s alright. I came here because of an emergency matter. I need a comfortable place for them," he said as he looked at Vera and Evin, who were already lying on the bed.
The city lord also looked at the two unconscious figures and wondered who they might be. One was an elf, and the other was a human child.
"They are Vera and Evin, the ones kidnapped in the Ivory Kingdom this morning," the avatar said, causing the city lord to freeze in shock.
He had already heard about the situation in the Ivory Kingdom, where the Evergreen royal family had launched a large-scale search for fugitives. He heard that someone from the Valerin family had been kidnapped, throwing the Ivory Kingdom into chaos.
To think that someone dared to do such a thing within the Aster Empire after all the examples Aldrian had already shown.
Now that Aldrian himself had taken action, he believed the kidnappers would not meet a good end. After all, the victims were already safe here.
"City Lord Arden, I would like to borrow your place for a while, until the situation is fully resolved," the avatar said.
"Of course, Your Majesty. You may use this place for as long as you wish. We will also make sure they are comfortable and feel safe," the city lord said with full confidence.
The avatar nodded. "I would like to treat them first. You may return to your duties."
"Yes, Your Majesty. If you need anything, please feel free to tell the maids or anyone here. We will do our best to serve you."
After that, the city lord left the avatar alone with Vera and Evin. He walked closer to them and touched Vera’s wrist.
With his comprehension of illusion laws, he easily broke the illusion that was keeping her unconscious. The moment the illusion shattered, she opened her eyes abruptly and her breathing quickened.
She blinked a few times and with a confused gaze, looked to the side where she saw a figure.
The moment she realized who it was, her eyes widened and she immediately tried to sit up.
"Easy, easy, Miss Vera. You don’t have to push yourself. You just woke up from the illusion," the avatar said.
Vera frowned deeply after the avatar helped her sit up.
"An illusion? I was just unconscious?" she asked in confusion.
"You don’t remember anything?" the avatar asked, to which she responded with a shake of her head.
The avatar nodded and began to explain what had happened to her. At the end of the explanation, Vera was truly shocked.
"Something like that happened to me and Evin?" she said as she quickly looked at her daughter. She checked whether she was alright.
"There is nothing wrong with Evin, so you don’t have to worry," the avatar said, making Vera sigh in relief.
She then looked at the avatar.
"But why would someone kidnap us? Is there someone who wants to harm us or my family?"
Aldrian’s expression turned calm, his eyes showing no hesitation.
"We will know after this. I will make sure to investigate this thoroughly and ensure those behind it pay for what they have done."
