The Smiling Death-Chapter 383: More Danger
While everyone was focused on the fight, the tower suddenly trembled.
At first, it was very slight. ๐๐โฏ๐ฆ๐๐ฆ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐๐.๐โด๐
A vibration that could easily be ignored in the middle of a battlefield.
But Amon felt it. He suddenly turned toward the tower. "What?"
He narrowed his eyes and stared at it. He clearly saw it. The tower had just trembled.
Not from an explosion. Not from monsters hitting it. The tower itself had moved.
Even other group members began to notice.
Some stopped fighting for a moment and looked toward the tower.
The black tower, whose walls were covered with countless small runes carved all over its surface, trembled again.
The runes faintly glowed, then dimmed, then glowed again.
Then suddenly a shockwave burst out from the tower.
BOOOOOOM!
The air shook violently as a circular shockwave spread outward from the tower.
Amon immediately crossed his arms and covered his face.
"What the?!" he shouted as the wind and dust slammed into him.
Around him, people stumbled backward.
"What's happening?!"
"Be alert, everyone!"
"Something's wrong with the tower!"
Group members shouted loudly as they regained their footing after the shockwave hit them.
Then everyone saw it. The huge metal door of the tower was glowing. Red lines across the door like veins.
Runes and mysterious patterns began lighting up one by one across the surface.
The entire door looked like a giant magic circle. Then a metallic sound came from the huge door.
Clang!
The sound was heavy and deep, like metal grinding against metal after being closed for hundreds of years.
Crrrccckkk!
The door slowly started to open. Everyone stopped fighting. Even the monsters. Spiders stopped crawling.
Flying monsters stopped mid-air. Wolf-type monsters stopped growling. Both humans and monsters stared at the slowly opening tower door.
The door opened wider and wider. Inside there was only darkness. Pure darkness.
Nothing was visible inside, not even a wall or floor. It looked like the inside of the tower was filled with endless black void.
The battlefield became strangely quiet.
Scarlett and Malphas immediately moved toward the tower and stood in front of the opening.
Their expressions were serious.
Mark, who was near Ethan, thrust his spear forward and killed a wolf-type monster that had tried to attack him from the side. After killing it, he also turned toward the tower.
"What the hell is thatโฆ" Mark muttered.
Ethan stood beside him, breathing heavily, staring at the tower with nervous eyes.
"I don't like thisโฆ" Ethan said quietly.
Near the tower, Malphas stood in front of the open door and stared into the darkness inside.
Scarlett stood slightly behind him, her blood weapons slowly forming around her again.
Malphas narrowed his eyes. Then he spoke in a low but grave voice. "The monsters insideโฆ are really strong."
Scarlett looked at him. "How many?"
"I don't know," Malphas replied. "But at least twoโฆ maybe more."
His expression darkened slightly. He then turned his head slightly toward Scarlett.
"Stay outside," he said.
Scarlett frowned. "I can fight."
"I know," Malphas replied calmly. "But someone strong needs to stay outside too. If monsters attack from both inside and outside at the same time, everyone here will die."
Scarlett didn't reply immediately. She knew he was right. Malphas then turned around and looked at everyone on the battlefield.
His voice suddenly became loud and commanding.
"Everyone! Keep fighting! Don't stop! Kill the monsters outside first!"
His voice echoed across the battlefield.
Even the monsters seemed to snap out of their strange trance and started attacking again.
The battle resumed immediately. Spiders rushed forward again.Flying monsters attacked from above again.
Wolf monsters began charging again. The battlefield returned to chaos.
Malphas then looked once more into the dark tower entrance.
Without saying anything more. He walked inside.
Amon watched everything from a distance, his expression serious. He didn't move. He just stared at the dark entrance where Malphas had disappeared.
The inside of the tower was completely silent for a few seconds.
BOOOOOOM!!!
A massive rumble came from inside the tower.
The ground shook violently. Everyone stopped for a moment again and looked toward the tower. Then a monster scream came from inside.
It was loud. Very loud. Much more horrifying than the giant centipede.
The sound was deep, rough, and full of rage.
SKKRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
The scream echoed across the entire battlefield, making many people freeze in fear.
Suddenly something flew out of the tower like a bullet.
BOOM!
It shot out of the entrance at incredible speed and crashed through several trees before smashing into the ground.
Dust and wood exploded everywhere.
Amon's eyes widened. When the dust settle.
He saw who it was. It was Malphas. He slowly stood up from the broken ground, brushing dust off his shoulder.
He didn't look heavily injured, but his clothes were torn slightly, and there was blood at the corner of his mouth.
He wiped it with his thumb and looked back toward the tower entrance. His expression was now extremely serious.
Heavy footsteps came from inside the tower.
THUD.
THUD.
THUD.
Each step made the ground tremble slightly. Something big was coming out. Everyone slowly stepped back from the tower entrance.
Then it appeared. A huge monster came out of the tower. The door of the tower was around twenty meters tall.
Even then the monster had to lower its body to come out.
When it finally stepped outside fully, everyone could see its full size. It was enormous.
Around thirty feet tall. Its body was grotesque and horrifying.
Its skin was dark gray and looked like rotten flesh stitched together. Parts of its body had exposed muscles, and some places had bones sticking out through the skin.
Its arms were extremely long, almost reaching its knees, and each hand had massive claws like curved swords.
Its back was hunched, and several bone spikes grew out of its spine.
Its face was the most horrifying part. It had no nose. Its mouth was split too wide, filled with uneven, jagged teeth, and black saliva dripped constantly from its mouth.
Its eyes were small but glowing in a sick yellow color. It looked like a nightmare made into flesh.
Another set of footsteps came from inside the tower.
THUD.
THUD.
THUD.
A second monster walked out.
This one was different but just as terrifying.
This monster had a more muscular body, covered in thick dark armor-like skin. Its head looked like a demon skull with two long curved horns.
Its arms were massive, and its hands looked strong enough to crush a human body like paper.
Its legs were thick like pillars, and every step it took cracked the ground beneath it.
The moment both monsters stepped outside. A heavy pressure spread across the battlefield.
It felt like the air itself had become heavy. Many students and fighters felt their legs shaking.
Some even stepped back unconsciously.
Amon felt it too.His face slowly became pale. He could feel it clearly. These two monsters were far stronger than the giant centipede. Much stronger.
Malphas spoke slowly, staring at the two monsters. "Peak Rank Fiveโฆ"
The words alone made the situation feel even heavier.
Even the other monsters on the battlefield seemed afraid of these two monsters. Some spiders and wolf monsters slowly moved away from them, as if they didn't want to get close.
Both monsters stepped forward at the same time.
BOOM!
BOOM!
Each step sent shockwaves across the ground. The shockwaves pushed both humans and monsters away.
People stumbled and fell. Even Scarlett was pushed back several steps by the force.
Dust rose everywhere. The two giant monsters stood in front of the tower like two guardians of hell.
Amon stood in the distance, staring at the scene with a grave expression. After a long time...He felt true fear.
His face slowly turned pale as he looked at the two Peak Rank Five monsters standing in front of the tower.
This battle had just become something far more dangerous than any of them had expected.
