The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 125: Ch : Surely it’s not the Same?- Part 3
Kuro trailed off and looked away. He seemed to have spoken more than he needed to and he quickly left my room.
But not before he gave me one last look over his shoulder.
"I know that look in your eyes, human. But let me say this one more time for you—do not try and enter this dungeon. It would be best for you to leave this one alone at least."
Kuro told me before he walked out of my room. His warning sounded sincere, and he also seemed worried for me.
But I was already interested in that dungeon and wanted to see more of it.
"Should I go and check it out? Kuro did say that it was going to be alright, but I still feel worried for some reason... not that I expect to do anything even if I go there now. But still, should I take a look at least?"
I asked myself as I considered what to do next. The main reason I had such a hard time deciding this was because of my own guilt.
A part of me kept asking me whether things would have been different had I cleared this dungeon before heading to the S-class one.
But another told me that if not this dungeon, then another one could cause the same problem and this was not my fault.
I just felt conflicted all the time, not knowing what to do now.
But one thing was for sure—I needed to sate my curiosity, and for that, I needed to enter this dungeon. And I needed a partner to help me do that.
"Now that the association has lost its foothold, I do not need to worry about them anymore. So, there is only one person who’s perfect as my partner in crime."
I did feel sorry for Lynn for becoming my scapegoat for everything. But he had also offered to do this, so I did not feel as bad about it as I previously did.
Calling Lynn was easy. My phone did not have a lot of numbers that I used anyway, and Lynn picked up the call quickly enough.
"H-Hello—! Ace—? I did not expect to get your call. What do you need? Is there anything I can help you with?"
Lynn sounded excited at the thought of being able to help me out, and I felt just a little bit bad about tricking him to help me out... but just a little bit.
"About that... there is somewhere I need to check, but I think I might require access. Do you think you can help me with that?"
I asked, and I could hear Lynn take a deep sigh from the other side before he replied to me.
"Of course. I can help you with anything you ask of me. Just let me know what you need from me."
Lynn told me in an excited voice, and I decided to answer his question.
"In that case, I need you to help get me the pass for Hell’s Fire as soon as you can. I need to go there alone and check something."
I told the alpha, and Lynn immediately went silent on the other side. When he did speak, his voice sounded off and in disbelief.
"Hell’s Fire—? Why that place? Ace—! You cannot do that. That dungeon is not normal! It has been open for the past 10 years and no one who goes in there ever comes back. I cannot send you—"
Lynn tried to speak, but I stopped him before he could get too far.
"I know what you think, and truthfully, I am not asking you to help me out because I had no other choice. I am going to go into that dungeon whether you stop me or not. I am asking you to help because you are the fastest at helping me."
I told the alpha, and he fell quiet. Lynn likely knew that he was not the only one I could ask for help as well.
So the decision of what to do next was up to him. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
His reply came quicker than I expected.
"I understand. In that case, I would like to help you out. With the association trying its best to gather itself around, I can get permission for us to fly to Hell’s Fire within a day. But you won’t be entering the dungeon alone. I will be coming with you."
Lynn cut the call off as soon as he finished speaking these words, and my mouth was left open.
"Hey, wait a minute—"
I did not even get to speak up before the alpha was gone. I had a sudden feeling that the alpha was not happy with me.
But I was not afraid of Lynn or whatever he thought. The choice to follow me was his to make, and the stakes were all his as well.
Knock
Someone knocked at my door as soon as I finished the call, and I quickly went to the door to open it.
Theo stood on the other side, his large arms clutching his pillow against his chest, and he looked like a huge but rejected puppy as he looked at me.
"What are you doing here?"
I asked Theo as he did not speak up and only gave me a sad look. I could see his imaginary ears fall even quicker at my words.
Theo licked his lips to moisten them, and my eyes looked at that pink tongue that darted out of his mouth. I wanted to play with it and tug on it to see the alpha’s reaction.
My attention got noticed by the alpha in front of me, and Theo went red-faced, but he did not look away. He shifted from one foot to another before he gained enough confidence to ask me the question he wanted to.
"A-Actually, Kyle, can I come inside? I don’t want to sleep alone today... not that I ever want to sleep alone. I just missed you. So, can I come in?"
