The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 122: Talking In A Garden
Abigail finally felt a little calmer when she reached the lobby area. She was sure she had seen a garden while entering this place. Where was it again?
She noticed an opening to the side as she walked and opened the door. To her surprise, she ended up bumping head-first into Rebecca.
Damn, why was this female lead everywhere? Every time Abigail met her, the emotion that she had felt the first time after glancing at the woman would only increase.
Mysterious and familiar.
Abigail’s embarrassed mood quickly vanished without a trace as she said, "Oh, it’s you."
"Good to see you again." Rebecca glanced at the back to see Asher rushing over. Before he could even notice them, Rebecca expertly shifted her position and walked out, blocking Abigail from everyone’s eyes in the lobby.
Then she smiled like nothing happened and said, "How about we get along for the sake of the movie? After all, we will be working together for a couple of months, won’t we?"
Abigail only felt this young woman was weird. Why did she have to turn and walk out when they had to talk? She could have said by standing in her previous place, right?
"Then, should we go to the garden?"
"Sure." Rebecca’s glance darted back and she only smiled upon seeing Asher rushing toward the main door.
Now, no one will disturb her alone and peaceful time with Abigail anymore.
They walked out slowly as Abigail glanced about. Another surprise befell on her—the entire place was empty. There were indeed a few chairs around, but except for that and beautiful trees full of flowers, she could see nothing else.
Birds chirped around the place from one branch to another, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The entire scene looked a bit more enchanting as if the garden itself was glowing for some reason.
But.... Despite how good-looking this garden was, Abigail felt a trace of reluctance in her heart. She didn’t want to enter this place anymore.
She was about to refuse when Rebecca also walked inside and shut the door behind her. She smiled and pointed at a seat beside her surrounded by scented flowers.
"Take a seat."
Abigail hesitated before heading there.
Since she was already here, why not try to get along with this woman? After all, she still had to work for a few months. She couldn’t avoid Rebecca just because she felt the woman was mysterious right?
Thus, Abigail forced herself to walk over and sat back, patting the space beside her. "Go on. Take a seat."
"Okay." Rebecca opened her mouth and introduced herself. "I’ve been working as an actor for quite a while, and surely, your skills are good, but you do need some guidance. This is your first time I assume?"
Abigail nodded, getting a little bit excited in her heart. "My skills were naturally good! You see, I’m an author and I wrote a novel once. Back when I was creating characters, I’d often act them out in front of the mirror!"
"Oh?" Rebecca asked with a trace of interest in her eyes. "Tell me more about that novel."
Abigail pursed her lips. She couldn’t just say out loud that they were currently living in her own written novel, right?
Thus, she changed the words that came through her mouth: "Well, we have a serial killer villain in the novel, a cold CEO, and a very naive and super adorable main character! He’s so cute that I couldn’t stop writing to him.
"The serial killer on the loose kills people in the novel, even threatening the main character’s life! Thus, the male lead catches her off guard and kills her." Abigail clapped her palms and said, "That’s the gist of my novel."
Rebecca’s eyes squinted for a second before it returned to normal.
"What happens at the end of the novel?" She gave a mysterious smile. "The story is good, but I still feel something’s missing."
"What?" Abigail was confused about this aspect as she tilted her head.
"The ending."
"What’s wrong with it?" Abigail didn’t think the ending she had thought of but didn’t write would be the best for every character.
"Don’t you think villains are a bit pitiful?" Rebecca sighed and explained. "Take your own role for example. Lily is just a naive young girl, bullied because of her birthmark. Was it her fault that she ended up having a multiple personality disorder?"
"I know right?!" Abigail finally realized her thinking process matched much more with Rebecca than she expected. She turned toward the woman and said, "The villain in my novel is also pitiful! She is rich, sure, but she never got the love and care of her mother!
"Even her servants treat her as a master. So rather than acting as an elder who can scold her, she grew up among people who would cater to all her desires. How do you think such a person would feel upon seeing her surroundings?"
Abigail sighed with emotion. "She never got a trace of genuine love all her life. Don’t you think her twistedness is legit? I have always felt sympathy for her."
"Then..." Rebecca smiled and turned toward her. "Why did you create her like that? Isn’t it your novel? Can’t you create a happy storyline without any twists and turns?"
Abigail shook her head. "I can’t. You see, a story needs a villain, and that character was a way to vent my real-life emotions back then."
"Real-life emotions?"
"Yes!" Abigail finally let go of all the mysteriousness she felt in her heart and reluctance to talk to the woman and revealed, "I’m actually bipolar. So if I’m not writing a novel, crazy enough to vent my emotions, I’m not sane enough."
"Ah, I see." Rebecca’s smile widened as she said, "No wonder you’re so weird."
"What do you mean?"
"Back then at the table, I actually thought you were cold and indifferent. But now.... It might just be your moodiness?"
Only now did Abigail remember she forgot to put up with the appearances for the sake of the role ’Olivia.’ She mentally facepalmed herself and chuckled nervously.
How can she forget to be in her role?! She really messed up everything once again!
Before they could continue talking, Abigail’s phone rang.
It was Asher calling her. She instantly picked up and said, "What is it?"
Now that she remembered her role, she became the composed and cold Olivia once again.
"Where are you?" Asher’s voice was laced with traces of anxiety as he said, "I’ve been searching for you for the past ten minutes!"
"Did you check the garden?"
"There’s a garden?" Asher raised his brows and said, "Stay wherever you’re. I’m coming!"
For some reason, Asher felt like something was going to go wrong, but why was he feeling that way? His anxiety only increased as he rushed toward the lobby area once again to find that damned garden!
