The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 221 - 219
Princess Eleanor walked into her room and she took a deep breath. Her eyes took a quick glance outside before she turned around and looked at Lady Gisella who had closed the door behind her.
"Does the Lady think that I overreacted earlier?" Princess Eleanor asked as she bit her lips.
"No..." Lady Gisella shook her head. "Duke Beaumont is supporting you."
"Is he?" Princess Eleanor asked. "Whatever I say, it remains unchanged that I have never seen the Grand Duke."
"Princess..." Lady Gisella had a lot of things she wanted to say, but she shook her head instead. Maybe it would not have been a good thing to tell anything to Princess Eleanor if the Duke had not agreed to say anything.
"Lady Gisella, you must be tired too. Why don’t you rest a little?" Princess Eleanor said before sighing. "We have a long day tomorrow."
"Does the Princess want to move the plan forward?" Lady Gisella asked as her eyes narrowed. She wanted to know what the Princess was thinking. "About Lady Fiona..."
"Lady Gisella..." Princess Eleanor’s words make Lady Gisella stop mid-sentence, "You asked me if I want to bring things forward, right?"
Lady Gisella nodded her head as her eyes looked straight into Princess Eleanor’s eyes. "I do want to make things go faster. But the time is still not quite right. Can you ask Doctor Raul to complete his preparation soon? I need the medicine fast."
Lady Gisella was silent as she nodded her head in understanding. "I will inform him."
Lady Gisella wanted to do something more but she understood that the time was not yet right. The Princess was angry with Lady Fiona’s words, and it was only natural that she needed to manage her emotions now.
Lady Gisella bowed her head as she left the room. ’I need to inform the Lord about this. The Gio household cannot stay on for long.’
Lady Gisella’s eyes sparkled as her lips curled up. She had her thoughts clear and she knew how to manage them.

"How did you know where I was?" Princess Eleanor asked as she walked towards the chair and sat. She closed her eyes as she looked up, resting her head on the chair. She could hear someone walking towards her and soon something cold touched her face.
A chill ran down Princess Eleanor’s spine but she did not react much. Her eyes opened slowly as she blinked a few times to focus her vision on the person standing in front of her.
"I have my ways, Princess." Sir Kit’s words were soft as he walked around the Princess and pushed a chair near her only to sit down and stroke her cheeks gently. "You had a rough day." He did not state it as a question, rather more of a fact. He had already known of what happened to her earlier. What a resourceful man!
"I did." Princess Eleanor nodded and did not deny it. She knew that her expression would tell the truth anyway, so why hide it away? "Everyone thinks that Duke Beaumont supports me."
"Isn’t it right though?" Sir Kit asked but soon his eyes widened when he saw Princess Eleanor leaning towards him as her hand held the mask and removed it swiftly as if she was already used to doing this action.
"How can it be possible? I am a person who has never met him before. Well, not really. I did meet him once in the study, but I have never seen him." Princess Eleanor said in a determined tone. "Rumor has it that he is a cruel man. I do not wish to be in his bad books."
Princess Eleanor looked at Sir Kit but did not manage to see the change in his expression. Maybe because the man’s body turned stiff before he went back to his normal self.
"He is not that bad." Sir Kit said but suddenly his tone turned low. "At least, not for you."
"What did you say?" Princess Eleanor asked as she could not hear the last words clearly. But soon she saw Sir Kit shake his head. She really missed this person a lot. He was really here. After promising her that he will be there as her escort, she thought that the man would forget about it. After all, he was supposed to take care of her younger brother too. Yet he was here with her to give her strength.
Princess Eleanor sighed as she got up from the chair. She did not waste any more time as she walked towards Sir Kit’s chair and made herself comfortable. Her legs went over both sides of his body as her hands wrapped around his neck in a relaxed manager. Princess Eleanor rested her head on his chest as if she did not care about anyone or anything else in the world.
"How is Arlo?" Princess Eleanor asked. She was happy hearing slightly unsteady heartbeats as she closed her eyes.
"He is feeling better now." Sir Kit sighed as she wrapped his arms around her waist. He wanted to refuse the Princess but when she had already sat on his lap, he could not help but be silent. He was even secretly happy about things. "Prince Arlo has started exercising and Doctor Raul is doing his best to treat him."
"I am sure Doctor Raul is doing his best." Princess Eleanor said but soon she could feel that something was wrong. She moved her head away as she looked straight into Sir Kit’s eyes. Her hand moved up as she touched one of his cheeks and asked, "Is something bothering you?"
Sir Kit touched Princess Eleanor’s hand as he looked straight into her eyes. "There is something that I want to tell you." Sir Kit saw Princess Eleanor’s face turning serious. Maybe she understood that whatever he was about to say was important.
Princess Eleanor nodded her head as she waited for him to continue. Sir Kit swallowed as he said in a low voice. "Remember how you wanted revenge from your Uncle and Aunt? How did you even tell Prince Arlo that you might not stop till you see them dead?"
Princess Eleanor’s eyes narrowed as she nodded her head. "I remember. What about it?" Her eyes could not move away from Sir Kit as if she was waiting to catch even the slightest moment of change.
"I think the Princess may have to stop her intentions here." As soon as Sir Kit said those words, Princess Eleanor’s body became stiff. Sir Kit could feel it too. His hold on Princess Eleanor tightened as he pulled her towards him. The sudden movement made the Princess lose her balance and Sir Kit took advantage of the situation. One of his hands moved to her head as he placed it in the original position, on his chest.
"Don’t misunderstand. I am not asking the Princess to give up on it completely. But it surely will be difficult to kill the dead." Sir Kit said in a soft tone as his hands ran through her hair, trying to make Princess Eleanor feel comfortable.
It took her a few seconds to understand what Sir Kit was saying, but when his words finally registered, Princess Eleanor’s eyes widened in shock as she pulled herself back to look him in the face. "Dead? Do you know what you are saying? I have not managed to kill them yet. My revenge is still pending, so how are they supposed to die? Could you be mistaken?"
"No." Sir Kit said with confidence. "I cannot be mistaken on this. The information which I have gotten is accurate." Sit Kit looked at Princess Eleanor whose body was shivering a little. "You know how the new King needs the acknowledgment of the Emperor? Although it does not really matter if it is granted or not, it does help to stop the political uproar. Anyways, Duke Felix has asked for a blessing and the Emperor has agreed."
"Is Felix the new King?" Princess Eleanor’s voice trembled at the end but she still managed to ask the question. She wanted to know what had gone wrong. Or was everything right through someone else’s plan?
"Yes, he is." Sir Kit said as he sighed. "The narrative was that the Empress killed her son and husband as she wanted to become the Emperor. She even attempted to kill her daughter on her wedding day but did not succeed. Duke Felix tried to stop the plan but it was too late. They had lost the young Prince and the King. When the Empress was captured, she poisoned herself in fear of the punishment."
"It is not true..." Princess Eleanor said as she murmured. "Aunt will never do it..." Her eyes were getting blurry but soon she realized that it was due to tears that were overflowing and running down her cheeks. Princess Eleanor tried to rub them away but no matter how hard she tried, they would keep coming back. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Just let your emotions run." Sir Kit said as she rubbed her head. "I will be here with you."
Princess Eleanor was angry. She was not sad about her Uncle’s death, but she was enraged that she did not get to see them suffering. Had she waited for too long to take her revenge?
Princess Eleanor rested her head on Sir Kit’s chest again as she allowed her tears to continue flowing down. Her hand clenched on his shirt as her mind was in a mess. ’Maybe I waited for too long. Maybe I should really rush to get my revenge on others.’
Princess Eleanor closed her eyes as she felt relieved, feeling Sir Kit’s hand running up and down her back in an attempt to make her feel better. And before she knew it, her eyes fluttered close and she fell into a deep sleep.
