The Wolfless Luna's Revenge: Returning With His Secret Twins-Chapter 253
[SAMANTHA’s Point of View]
The Moonlight Mirror illuminated once again, revealing a door that I think I had never seen before.
But then I noticed my husband’s face turned pale as he froze. It was as if he recognized the door and was confused about why the Moonlight Mirror had revealed it to us.
“Do you recognize that door, Dominic? Do you know where it is?” I asked, my heart still pumping hard in my chest after seeing how my husband’s eyes widened. “Where is it?”
Dominic remained silent for a few seconds, as if shocked by what he had seen, and then closed his gaping mouth, looking down and thinking. I had no idea what was keeping Dominic from telling me about it, but I had a feeling he had seen things that he wasn’t sure he could share with me.
Killian was skeptical about Dominic’s reaction to the reflection in the mirror, but remained silent. Devon and Diana weren’t moving as well, as if they both noticed that strange reaction on their father’s face.
“We’d better take the kids to bed,” Dominic answered softly, almost in a whisper, as he stood straight. He wasn’t able to look me straight in the eyes as he started to walk away from the table where it was resting. Devon looked at me before his Dad carried him in his arms to take them back to their room.
“Mom? What do you think happened to Dad?” Diana asked me in her silent voice as she gave me a worried look. “We don’t mean to make you and Dad upset and worried. We just want to help.”
“There is nothing to worry about, Diana. Just go back to bed and make sure not to go outside your room again, you hear me? This is a very dangerous time. I need you and your brother to be safe. I will never forgive myself if something bad happens to both of you.”
“I’m so sorry, Mom.” Diana wrapped her small arms around me, and I carried her as I followed Dominic with a suspicious feeling.

“What happened, Dominic? I need you to explain why you reacted that way when you saw that door that the Moonlight Mirror showed us. I need to know where that door leads.”
After my husband and I made sure that the kids were already sleeping after we left them both in their room, Dominic and I went straight to his office. Not too long, and Killian was already behind. He slipped his hands into the pockets of his jacket, looking uncomfortable as he remembered the big fight I had with the Silver Crescent Alpha since we returned from the Wolf Tomb.
“Calm down, Sam. Let Dominic explain what he knows about it. Your anger freaks us out.” Killian frowned as he looked at me, trying to reach me by the shoulder, but I furiously avoided his touch and then threw him a daggering look.
Killian gave Dominic a wide-eyed look as if telling my husband he was on his own.
“Okay,” Dominic finally spoke as he leaned his back against the wall with his arms folded on his chest. There was a solemn look on his face; I couldn’t understand, but I guess that door gave him a sad memory. Perhaps it was some kind of room that gave him sad memories? I wasn’t sure. I just wanted to know why the Moonlight Mirror showed it to us.
He stepped away from the wall, squared his shoulders, caressed his chin with his thumb, and looked at me while contemplating how to begin his explanation.
“Follow me.”
Killian and I looked at each other and then did what he said. We silently followed Dominic straight to his late mother’s room, which surprised me.
“The door is in Lena’s room? How did that happen? How didn’t I know about this when I went here so many times?”
Instead of answering my questions, Dominic went to the other side of the room and pushed the King-sized bed just enough to reveal the wall behind the massive headboard. I frowned. No. It wasn’t a wall at all! It was only painted and looked the same as the wall, but I noticed there were gaps in it! Gaps that made it look like a door!
"Has this door really been hiding behind Lena’s bed all this time?" I murmured under my breath as I stared at the door, not knowing what to think. “How do you know about this, Dominic? When did you find out there was a door behind your mother’s bed?”
“It doesn’t matter. The Moonlight Mirror showed this door, and it means there is something important inside that we have to explore or find out. Do you think you are ready to know what’s behind this door?” Dominic asked me, which made me more intrigued about what he knew about it.
It was clear that he never wanted us to know what he knew about this.
Killian gave another suspicious look at Dominic and then raised both of his brows at me when Dominic started opening the door. It was pitch dark inside. So dark that even my werewolf eyes couldn’t see anything. But I could tell it was something like a tunnel. A long, pitch-dark tunnel that I had no idea what was waiting for the three of us on the other side of it.
There was a loud scratch like a match struck against the matchbox, and a torch was lit. Dominic was holding it as he looked back at me and Killian, who was frowning at him.
“So you know this place very well, then?” Killian asked as casually as he could, as if he was trying his best to avoid triggering my husband’s anger. “How many times have you gone here?”
“Not too often.” Dominic surprisingly answered, but there was tension in his voice. “The last time I went here, it had been six or five years. I can’t exactly remember.”
“Did Lena show you this?” I ask, hoping he wouldn’t ignore me again, because if he did, I would totally feel pissed. “What do you know about this place, Dominic? Tell me.”
“It was supposed to be built as a safety bunker in case an attack from the enemies happens.” Dominic finally answered me with a voice so grim that it convinced me something terrible had happened in this place. "But the tunnel led somewhere, and Mom never told me where it ended. I just know that so many lives were sacrificed to build this thing. That’s why it was shut down and was never used again.”
His story brought chills down my spine, and I didn’t know if exploring this tunnel was a good idea. If so many were killed while they built it, did it mean that there were enemies or a dark entity that tortured or killed those people?
“What happened to them? How are they killed?” Killian was the one who had the guts to ask.
Dominic looked at our faces over his shoulders with a silent, dark expression on his face that made me swallow hard. I decided not to ask any more questions because I was starting to feel scared. The deeper we get into the tunnel, the colder it gets. Like creepy cold. And white clouds started to appear when I breathed as I rubbed my arms to keep myself warm.
Ahead of us, we all heard something strange. Something that sounded mechanical, and I started to feel nervous and wary about it. Even Killian and Dominic crouched, preparing themselves for whatever was happening, but nothing came, which only made me more anxious about what it was. The three of us looked at each other, and then something caught my eye when the light reached the arched ceiling of the tunnel. There were scripts written on it.
“Wait, please lift the torch to the ceiling,” I asked my husband, and grabbed his hand on the torch so I could clearly read the words.
“Royal Blood is the key to every mystery.”
“The f*ck does that mean?” Killian blurted under his breath as he rested his hands on his hips while grimacing at the texts carved on the ceiling.
All of a sudden, we all felt the ground shake violently. A thick block of wall fell in front of us, just inches from where Dominic stood, making him flinch in shock, and the torch fell from his hand.
The shaking didn’t stop until Killian noticed something moving behind him. I looked as well, and my eyes widened.
The food was crumbling behind us!
“The f*ck is happening!?” Killian started to panic as his eyes widened in terror. The floor wasn’t just collapsing! There were spikes that started to shoot from them, like drills!
We couldn’t move forward or run! The wall in front of us was impossible to break!
“The Royal Blood is the key to every mystery,” I repeated under my breath, the adrenaline starting to pump in my veins like insane. Bullets of cold sweat started to form on my forehead as my whole body trembled.
And then, out of instinct, I bit the side of my hand until blood dripped from it.
“Samantha!”
I didn’t think of anything anymore and just wiped the blood on the wall. The shaking of the tunnel stopped, and it was just inches away from Killian’s foot when the drills stopped drilling as well. Dominic and I looked at each other; our breaths were fast and hard as we watched how the wall started to lift back up to the ceiling.
“LOOK OUT!”
When Dominic and I thought it was already over, the ceiling of the tunnel started to crumble from above us, and the debris started to fall. Dominic was swift as he shielded his body to protect me from the huge, thick stones that hit his back. I heard my husband groan as pain started to shoot in his body, but he didn’t move an inch and wrapped his arms around me, his chin on top of my head as he kept whispering that it was alright. That he was alright and he would keep me safe.
“Dominic! Samantha!” Killian’s voice echoed in the tunnel as he started to dig us out and removed the massive stones from Dominic’s back. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
My heart fluttered as our eyes met. His hazel eyes glimmered in the dark as he softly stared at me, as if reassuring me that nothing bad would happen to me while he was around.
But then I remembered how he tried to push me away and deal with all the dangerous matters of the pack by himself, making my heart once again cold for him.
I blink several times and then avert my eyes from him as I whisper, "I can take care of myself."
I saw how Dominic’s mouth started to open to say something, but we were distracted when we both heard a long howling from the other side of the tunnel.
“What’s that?!” I asked, looking around. “A shadow werewolf?!”
“Listen to me, Samantha.” Dominic’s voice was hard as steel, but there was a hint of pleading in it. “If you want us all three to get out of here alive, you have to listen to everything I say. I need you to trust me no matter what.”
