Meifen needed to have a private conversation with her son. Now was not the appropriate time to address and anything she wanted to say would have to wait.

She let go of her son and looked at the guest who was staring at her ceiling in a haze.

"Miss Lin.." she called out.

Alix turned her head immediately, proving that she was not in any haze. "Call me Alix."

Meifen didn't have time to care about what Alix wanted to be called.

"En, Alix, we will have to talk some other time. Yuewei and I need time alone to talk."

Alix understood of course. Mother and son had a lot to unpack right now. They both had a lot of heavy things to get off their chests. The honest conversation they needed to have didn't need an outside like her.

She picked up her bag and stood up. But before leaving, she still needed to warn Meifen.

"I understand. I also apologize for visiting you suddenly and opening this can of worms."

The system snorted. The computerized snorting sound was quite weird to her ears. She ignored it anyway and went on. "Before I leave, I must remind you that time is of the essence. My stepmother will not be far behind me. I give her at most a week to come in search of you.

Knowing her, she will attack you in a public place where you and Yuewei will be together, or maybe not. I may not be certain of that but I am certain that it will be in the open where she can shame you to the maximum.

She will want you to lose face in public and brand you a mistress. Yuewei's existence might even be leaked to the public so that she can score sympathy points with the netizens.

Once that happens, Yuewei will not be safe in school. She will see to it that he is harassed in different ways. I could fill you in more on all the things which she will do but that would take us a whole day to exhaust.

Briefly wrapping it up, she will either destroy Yuewei immediately or seek to control and use him somehow until when he is of no use to her and then destroy him.

What I recommend is that you move house and switch Yuewei's school for now. I recently bought a school, Fuwen academy. I want you to move Yuewei there. Jing Hee will never get to him or tamper with his academics in my territory. I will also need some help around the school, so if you want to, I can employ you and provide you with lodging.

I came here because I want to protect my brother. I won't lie and say that I will not benefit in some ways from having him stand on my side but I can assure you that he will have a bright future with me backing him."

She left Meifen's apartment after saying that and when she walked out, she sighed. She was feeling less burdened somehow since she had said what she wanted. The ball was in Meifen's hands now.

She got into an elevator which had two other people. As it went down to the first floor, she dialed Holea.

"Hey friend." Holea said. "Is it done? Do you have good or bad news?"

"I am not sure." Alix replied.

"What do you mean?" Holea asked. "Is your brother an asshole as expected?"

Alix thought back to the boy she had just met and she shook her head even though Holea could not see it. "No, he is a good boy. A little sweet, and foolish but nice. He plays badminton and there were trophies in the house. I think he is great at it."

"Ho, are you showing off about your little brother?" her friend asked.

"No." Alix answered slowly.

She couldn't explain why she had mentioned the badminton and the trophies. Was she truly showing off as Holea suspected? Was she so desperate for blood related family that she had already latched onto the brother she had just met without realizing it? She walked slowly, pondering on that possibility.

On the other end of the call, Holea shouted at her, "Hey, have you spaced out?"

"No." Alix lied.

Holea sighed because she knew that Alix was telling lies. "You really frustrate me so much. Just get something to eat. I saw the way you were eyeing those mochi's in the counter."

Alix smiled secretly on her end because her feet were already carrying her to a bakery at the entrance of the street in the direction of the food plaza. It was if Holea could read her stomach's mood.

"En." she answered.

"Call or text me when you get home." Holea told home.

Alix laughed. "Yes mama Holea."

Holea hung up immediately. Alix imagined the scowl on her friend's face after hearing the mama Holea nickname which she hated.

She made it to the shop and looked around. Two people in the shop, a husband and wife were serving the customers who had arrived before Alix did.

"Welcome, I will get to you in thirty seconds." The woman said.

Alix was fine waiting and she scrolled through her phone as she waited, looking at pictures of Jin Kang's family enjoying the national holiday.

Alix sent pictures of herself and Caishen on their date. The need to also show off her own family had always been big in her.

"Hello, what can I get you?" The woman, as promised got to Alix in thirty seconds.

Alix looked around with twisted lips moving from left to right.

"Four chicken buns, five cocktail buns, a dozen osmanthus cake and one bubble tea."

The woman stepped away to pack all that Alix had ordered for and within less than a minute Alix was on her way to one of the public seating spots in the food plaza.

She found an empty table and sat down to enjoy a cocktail bun and the bubble tea. It was a miracle that she managed to find an empty table because the streets and the food plaza were crowded. Everywhere one looked, tourists occupied every bit of space.

The plaza was decorated with patriotic colors and themes. Loud music, laughter was everywhere. In this place, she was not Lin Alix Zhang Caishen's wife or Lin Billi's sister but an ordinary person who nobody noticed. She was just another tourist that nobody cared about. She leaned back in the chair comfortably and smiled.

"Until someone with sharp eyes and sticky fingers notices that you are wearing jewelry worth three million yuan on your body." The system said out of nowhere.

"Oh great, now you have made me paranoid." she responded.

She found herself looking from side to side and she wondered if she should take off her ring, or her earrings. Perhaps the rose gold watch on her hand needed to come off as well.

"Just go home and enter the virtual gaming world. Your friends are on a guild mission and you are dismantling a bun. What kind of guild leader are you? Tsk, tsk, don't be a lazy gamer."

She quickly downed the bubble milk and carried her compartmentalized bag. She would be gaming until the sun came up.
