The office she had been given was not arranged properly at the moment as things were still being shuffled around. She couldn’t sit three guests in there at the moment in it’s current shape so, she took the chairman to the old principal’s office. He had left everything behind, books, computer, files, the small television on the office wall. Absolutely nothing was touched.

This was a relief because there were enough chairs in there to sit everyone including the two elders that had finally caught up to them. Madam Qian and madam Zhou were also going nowhere, not until they got what they had come for.

The vice principal was so excited to see such great guests at the school that he decided to make himself Alix’s assistant. He went off to prepare tea and some snacks for the visitors.

Her lack of a personal assistant was noticed by grandpa Tai immediately and he did not hesitate to comment, as always.

"Xi Xi dear, you need a good personal assistant."

"I had one but she quit after one day. I don’t know if it was the boredom, workload or something else that scared her off. Maybe she got a better job with good perks. I have been managing things with my friend Jin Kang for long."

She was speaking of the assistant the Zhang family had given her. She had not even lasted a day and she quit, not that Alix noticed. She hardly remembered the woman’s name.

"But, I am searching for a new one." she assured him.

Grandpa Tai intended to offer his help and save the day as usual but madam Qian beat him to the punch. "Why didn’t you tell me sooner? I could have helped. I know a few young girls that will suitable for the job. How many do you need?"

The elder did not appreciate her interference in the slightest bit and he made it obvious by scowling in her direction. "Ho, madam Qian, this is a matter than can be settled between family. We don’t need outsiders to help."

"Outsiders!!" madam Zhou exclaimed.

"Yes." Grandpa Tai answered, affirming his opinion boldly. "I am here, her godfather is here, she has two other godfathers, eight brothers, a grandmother and three god mothers. Does it sound right to you that she should seek help from outside? What else is family for if not to help each other in everything?"

Madam Qian looked at Alix and blinked with a response that was burning in her throat which she didn’t hold back.

"Elder, why haven’t you mentioned her husband or her in-laws? Even her Lin family...."

"Madam Qian, I am having a good day. Please be reasonable and let it stay that way." His mood always turned sour when he heard any mentions of the Lin family. Why was she mentioning them here?

He looked at his son and told him, "Heng, call your mother and tell her to send two capable personal assistants for your daughter."

Madam Qian turned her head and looked at madam Zhou. They both wondered if they heard the elder quite right. It sounded like he had changed the claim from goddaughter to daughter.

The way things were going, they were not surprised to see chairman Tai Heng stepping out to make the call. As he stepped out, the vice principal came in with cups and two silver vacuum flasks.

"I apologize, we don’t have any fancy tea to serve you. This is plain black tea and this one is milk." he explained.

One of the teachers, teacher Yang Mi came in with snacks.

"We got these from the restaurant across the street. Please try a few." she told them.

She bowed her head politely and stepped out of the office. She went straight up to the staff room and sat down at her desk, taking in deep nervous breaths.

The other teachers that were not in class surrounded her with eager questions.

"What was it like in there?"

"Is it really the chairman of TFK?"

"What about the national daughter or the wife of Ko real estate?"

"And the other woman, teacher Huizhong swears that she is the daughter of Nong and Ji beverage. But, she is rarely in any newspapers or magazines so we can’t be sure unless we get a closer look. Do you think it’s her?"

Teacher Yang Min shook her head, "Everyone, let’s not get excited. All I can tell you is that entering that office can take your breath away. Our school is about to shoot for the stars. I was planning to quit but not anymore. Now, I actually pity the teachers who left us before the national holiday."

Teacher Huizhong was one of the math teachers for the tenth graders. He didn’t agree with Yang Mi’s opinion.

"Our worry should be whether or not we are going to lose our jobs. Someone of means, wealth and connections has bought our school. The standard of teachers must go up, results of the students, excellence and expectations. We might be pushed out if we don’t adjust."

Some of the teachers groaned and others were filled with worry suddenly. Getting new jobs would be very hard especially when little known Fuwen academy was their last place of work. Good schools wanted teachers with shiny records and there was nothing shiny about most of their resumes.

Everyone was suddenly down because Huizhong had poured a bucket of cold water over them and put a damper on their excitement and hopes.

"Will I have to go and teach in the country side?" One of the female teachers asked in a weary voice.

Yang Mi stood up abruptly. "I should talk to the vice principal about this."

None of the teachers would concentrate on their classes if this continued. It was hard enough dealing with the students who were excited and exhausted after the national holiday but if the teachers lost their morale, it would be worse.

In the office meanwhile, Alix had brought out tea leaves, rock sugar and powdered milk from her bag. All of them items from the gaming world.

The tea which seemed boring had turned into a delicious feast thanks to her. Madam Zhou was particularly interested in the powdered milk. It was in a glass jar so she couldn’t identify the company which manufactured it but she knew the taste of almost all types of milk saturating in the market thanks to her job as a quality manager at Nong and Ji.

This one however was new to her tongue and she planned to find out where Alix had got it from. It would be a great addition to Nong and Ji’s milk line.

"Miss Alix." she called out.

Alix looked at her and responded, "Hmm."

"Two, I have made a choice." she said.

She didn’t go into details because she didn’t want anyone else catching on. Her eyes stayed on Scarlet, waiting for her to hint that she understood.

"Got it." Alix replied.

Madam Zhou had chosen twins just like madam Qian, her friend. That was twenty million secured, one teleportation scroll and five million to go into an account for teacher’s salaries.

Alix sipped her milk tea and hid her smile behind a cup. This was shaping up to be a good day.
