The city lord had gone all out to celebrate the safe return of his daughter. Everything in his dwelling was in plenty and most importantly, it was free.

So, as Alix waited for her turn to perform, she stuffed fruits of different kinds into her bag. It wasn't just fruits but wine and sweets as well. As someone that once upon a time skimmed on food she made it a habit now not to walk anywhere without something to eat in her bag.

The fruits here were very tasty, fresh and had a good effect on the body. However, the poisonous fruits were also plenty. Most of them, affected by the magic of the dark wizard. One needed to be an expert in identifying dark magic poison to notice the differences.

She picked up a red berry from a small heap and put it on her mouth. All types of berries were available, like gooseberries, coffee berries, blackberries, strawberries and even barberries that had been dried. While others were eating food or drinking wine, Alix continued to pack fruits.

The system was very judgmental about what she was doing.

"You would make a horrible party guest." It told her.

She ate two more red berries, relishing the sweet juicy taste. She had not eaten breakfast and she was rather hungry. "It's all going to be wasted anyway. Do you really think that all this will be eaten?"

As she ate, she looked around, searching for traces of Hero or Dark death. They were not responding to texts and the crowd here was too big so she couldn't

search with her eyes.

For a world that didn't seem to be too big, the number of guests here was quite large. If she had to guess, she would put it somewhere in thousands.

"Eight thousand six hundred and two guests." The system informed her.

She picked up one of the blackberries and it slipped out of her hand and fell to the ground. Unbothered, she picked up another but the same thing happened. Suddenly, she felt a burn in her throat and she gasped for air.

An image flashed of herself falling down to the ground in the gaming world and the real one appeared in her mind. She was coughing blood out of her mouth and she had a blackberry in her hand.

Alix looked down at her wrist and noticed that two of the beads on her bracelet had turned black. It caused her to gasp as her mind grasped the implication. The blackberries where obviously poisonous. It was her presumption that the bracelet could protect her out in the real world but she had not seen it at work in the gaming world.

Had it worked because when she died in the game she would also die in the real world?

She stepped away from them with shock on her face. "System, can you find out what is poisoned here?"

"That will require a stealth scan which will cost you one thousand points." It told her.

"Do it, and everything that I packed as well." She was fighting every instinct to empty the bag and dump all of it's contents on the ground.

She was one of three people that were interested in the fruits. The other two were NPC's and they were eating papayas.

She heard a ding in her mind and then the voice of the system. "Blackberries and Ice blue cherries. The system has detected poison in all of them."

Alix dumped all of the blackberries on the ground. She had not touched the ice blue cherries. She was not familiar with the fruit and it didn't exist on earth so she did not plan to take it into the real world immediately.

Quickly, she grabbed one of the guards that kept watch over the mansion. "The blackberries and ice cherries are poisoned. Hurry, get rid of it all before someone dies."

She held up the badge of her guild as she informed him. Being a game player put one at the top of the pyramid in all these worlds.

The guard informed another, who informed another and the word spread. Soon, the city lord himself came out discreetly to confirm Alix's words.

He was not alone, he came with an older man that was dressed in a robe the pharmacists around the city dressed in.

She accessed the identification feature of the game and the name of the old man was made visible to her.

Digba, the sage pharmacist.

He conducted a few tests and then he nodded. The fruits were then removed by the city lord's guards. As they were being removed, different fruits replaced them.

Alix had no plans of touching anymore fruit. She would just purchase them later in the market.

With this done, she turned around to leave but a large, firm hand was placed on her shoulder. She was forced to turn around and face the one who stopped her, the city lord.

"Is it you that discovered the poison?"

Alix nodded.

"You are the heroine that returned my daughter to me, aren't you?"

Alix nodded, again.

"We sent an invitation to your guild because we wanted you to be our honored guests but you didn't respond."

If Alix had to guess where the others were right now, Dark death was probably on a task and so was Hero. In fact, even if the invitation was sent, both of them would not have come. They didn't thrive in crowds.

"Mmm, I don't think any of us got the message or we would have responded accordingly. I apologize for the lack of response. I am here though to play the most beautiful song for your daughter."

The city lord looked up at the sky and contemplated for a while. Then, he looked at Alix and said "No need to do the task anymore. As a reward for saving us all, I am willing to give you a map."

He raised his hand and an old-ish scroll appeared. Then, he handed it off to Alix.

With a big smile, Alix was all too happy to receive it. She could not believe that she did not have to work hard for it. She had the urge to yell out loud, 'It's another one.'

She didn't know why but luck just seemed to be following her around lately. It had to be Majesty__, that notion wouldn't go away.

She had been taking really good care of that cat after all. Perhaps it was rewarding her silently. But again, if she didn't have the bracelet then she would have been poisoned. Maybe this could not be attributed to Majesty.

A notification then appeared in the game.

[Congratulations, player Alix, the bard for solving a hidden task: Identify poisoned fruits at the party.]
