Alix had hired Jenny, but as Biming stated, the rest of the issues had to be worked out between husband and wife. It's why the two hours between breakfast and lunch were spent updating Jenny on her duties and thinking about questioning her husband on his motives.

He wasn't the only one with someone keeping an eye on their respective spouse, Alix was doing the same, through Biming. The only motive behind her move was to ensure that he stayed healthy and that he was taking care of himself.

This is why when Biming asked her to come to his office and drag him to get something to eat, she didn't turn him down.

Biming brought him downstairs and off they went, to one of Alix's favorite little hidden bistros.

The small place was empty when they arrived, something that Alix had ensured to make Caishen comfortable. It didn't cost much to rent it out for an hour, not with the money she was making lately. And after the hundreds of millions he had spent on the buildings, this was a small price to pay.

The emptiness of the quiet little restaurant was the first thing Caishen noticed and he commented.

"It's empty." he said. An empty restaurant did not tell a good tale. The food or service usually was lacking.

"I reserved the whole place." she told him. "You don't like crowded places. We are here to eat pancakes for lunch, or breakfast for lunch."

He frowned.

"You will love it, I promise. This place has the best pancakes to lift your mood in case you are having a bad day. And their waffles are also to die for. They have this chocolate, cinnamon sugar toast which is also to die for." She assured him with excited eyes.

"I don't think there is food in the world that one needs to die for unless the world is in dire straits and there is an extreme case of food scarcity." Casually, he replied as he put away his phone after responding to a text from his father.

He also thought she was using the words 'to die for' in excess. To her, everything she mentioned was after all, to die for. How many times did someone have to die when they ate something from this place?

"You could just say zombie apocalypse you know." She answered.

He laughed softly. As expected of her imagination, it went to such nonsensical scenarios first. "And what if it's simply harsh weather conditions, climate change you know or wars. We could also have a case of extraterrestrial invasion."

As expected of a man that only considered science, cold facts and logic. Nothing outside of that could convince him otherwise.

"I say zombies and you say aliens. Which one of us is the crazy one here?"

He pointed at her with his index finger, moving it two times and assuring her that she was the one with an out of the world imagination.

"Alright, I, the possible zombie invader will accept the title of the crazy one."

She could tell him about her system and______.

"No you cannot." The blue elf loudly warned in her mind.

"I wasn't." she replied.

It was her secret weapon, something she wouldn't even tell her closest friends about. If her mother was alive, she would not have told her as well.

"How did you find this place?" he spread his arms and then gestured to the entire interior of the restaurant. It was not the kind of place he would normally visit. It's small size, hidden location as it was inside a building behind an alley and the fact that he didn't recognize it's name all meant that he would have gone his whole life without knowing about it's existence.

Then a piece of information nibbled at his mind and he was reminded of something. He did know about it, but from the detailed background check carried out on her.

"You used to work here, three months I think." he answered his own question.

She was not surprised that he knew and she simply smiled and nodded, acknowledging his information.

"I worked as a delivery person too, for a food delivery company. The one with the app, food-food-food. So, I know all the best places to eat from in most parts of the city.

That's why I said not only are the pancakes here are to die for but the waffles and chocolate toast are to die for too. Nobody does it better than them.

If you want the best braised pork belly, chicken feet, steamed fish, roasted chicken, milk tea, deep fried dumplings, then I am your girl."

He moved his head twice from side to side and then he said with a soft smile on his face, "You are not a girl."

"Is that all you could think of!" she rolled her eyes.

He shrugged and answered, "Your information is factually incorrect and I did not think that you would want me correcting you. Technically, you know all the cheaper places with what you have deemed basing on your taste to be the best. I am sure that you will change your mind if you eat from enough high end restaurants and hotels. One's pallet often expands depending on the size of their wallet."

Alix suppressed he smile as she listened to him talk. With such facts and logic, he would probably have made a good teacher. It was undeniable that he was talking sense though. Although, he would have been a boring teacher.

"What's wrong. Why are you smiling?" he asked innocently.

"I am enjoying listening to you talk that I have forgotten to settle a debt with you. You switched out my new assistant." she replied.

She did not intend to bring up the topic so soon, especially not before they ate the delicious foods she was anticipating but it sort of slipped out.

He leaned back in his wheelchair and nodded once. "I did. I apologize for doing it behind your back but it was necessary. A personal assistant is someone that you will send on personal errands, maybe it's for female hygiene products, or a change of clothes. That person needs to know intimate details of your body, health, life and come into our home often, sometimes our bedroom.

They also need to handle drama that comes from dealing with a family like mine and yours.

Secrecy is a very important part of the job. Johnny Li is a fresh faced kid that has barely been out of the university for a year. These did not seem like tasks he was equipped to handle.

His sister on the other hand has some note worthy experience and coincidentally happened to already be under one of the Zhang group's subsidiaries so I thought she would be a better fit for you.

All I did was send her to you. The final decision is not mine of course. If you are not at ease or disappointed with her, don't hire her."

He leaned forward and asked earnestly, "Are you angry with me?"

Even though he knew that she would not be pleased, he took the risk and did this anyway. He was hopeful that she would see past his presumptions and appreciate his honest desire to help her handle such a small thing.

She leaned forward too and asked with a smile on her face, "You are a micro manager, aren't you?"
