The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 230: Should I feed you?
He put his hands together, placing his elbows on the table and tapping his thumbs together slowly as he thought about her reference to his handling of things. Caishen was no fool, he knew what micro management was. He literally knew the definition word for word because he studied everything from business to human resources.
Alix sighed and waved her hand. "Forget it, I shouldn't have said that."
She had noticed the frown on his face when she said it. It was obvious that he didn't appreciate the inference.
Besides, while he mostly micro managed, she was the complete opposite of him, a macro manager. Too much of one sometimes because she often left most of the heavy lifting at work to Jin Kang.
She wasn't any better than he was in any way.
She wanted to move on to something else but that's when he opened his mouth and said something.
"A pattern of manager behavior marked by excessive supervision and control of employees' work and processes, as well as limited delegation of tasks or decisions to staff."
Alix blinked. This sounded like another fact or definition of something. His go to pattern when he was trying to make sense of something.
She wondered if he ever analyzed anything irrationally.
"That is the definition of micro management." He told her." And you are wrong about me. When I was stuck in bed after the accident I left everything to my subordinates."
She nodded. That was an undeniable fact, however it was not as if he had been given much of a choice. "But how many contracts and how money did you lose during that period? It's why you are working extra hard now, isn't it? You want to fill in the holes that had been left empty. It's why you are handling every important business personally, overseeing everything. Biming told me that you plan to go to a construction site later in the evening. It's not safe or wise. You are still recovering."
Accidents happened at construction sites, they saw this in the news all the time. Those with well functioning legs would save themselves easily but what about him? She worried about all sorts of made up dangerous scenarios in her mind.
"Is this you being worried about me or is it Biming that is worried and filling your head with his worries?" He asked her.
She extended her hand from across the table and grasped his arm, pulling it down so that she could hold his hand.
For some reason, every once in a while, he reminded her of herself. Someone that was in need of love, warmth and care as much as she was.
The Zhang's were not as touchy as the Tai's, if she had to make a comparison. They were not big on hugs or vocal affirmations of love for each other.
They were close, yes, but there was something lacking in their family dynamics. Their was a gap in his life that she wanted to fill for him.
"I am your wife. My main job is to make you happy and worry about you." She smiled and added, "It's your job too, to do that much for me.
It's why you sent Jenny and gave her brother a different job. You were worried that a bad P.A would just end up dragging me down. I may not like how you went about it but I am grateful for the help. Next time, speak to me first however.
If you had told me about this plan directly I would have said yes. Jenny is good at her job and she got to work the minute she set foot inside the school."
She lifted his right hand and surprised him by pressing her lips onto its back lightly.
" You did good, Zhang Caishen."

He must have appreciated her words greatly because on his face was the first smile, she was seeing since they set foot in this little place.
And it was a genuine smile not one of his polite ones that lacked warmth.
"I apologize for going around your back." He looked at the table and said in a softer voice. His apology also carried no defensiveness as the first one did.
A door creaked loudly and Alix removed her hand from his. He removed his hands from the table cleared his throat as if something was itching at the back.
A waitress came over and put down two large plates with pancakes, waffles, and the toasted chocolate bread which Alix had told him about.
"Aunt Sen says it's good to see you again after so long." The waitress told Alix.
She laughed and replied, "En, tell her that I came with my husband. She should come and meet him. He doubts my words about this combo being one to die for. "
"Really?" The waitress looked at Caishen curiously. "He has never eaten from here before, right?"
Alix nodded.
"Well, enjoy your meal sir." She addressed Caishen, smiled at Alix again and then left.
Alix rubbed her hands and stared at the big breakfast combo meal gleefully. Her mouth watered before she could even begin digging in.
"Aah, I don't know what to start with?" she said in a happy squeaky voice.
Caishen knew what she was going to start with, the toasted bread with chocolate. She would probably order even more to go when they were leaving.
The waitress returned with two cups of hot milk, two glasses of juice, bottled water and plain tea in a plain brown old clay tea pot. Alix helped her arrange the things around the table and she left again.
"Let's eat," Alix said. She deepened her voice, sounding like a commander addressing another soldier.
Caishen chuckled and shook his head. It never failed to amuse him how happy she became around food. She just lit up and her entire aura changed. If she was given a choice between playing music and eating food, he wondered what she would choose.
"Well, thank you for the meal."
He picked up a fork, with his eyes on the waffles. There were five different types of waffles on the plate, some with fruit, some with butter, cream, strawberries, chocolate and ice cream. As expected of his wife, she had picked a place that served sweet things.
He did not know if they were to die for but they smelled appetizing. Or maybe he was just hungry because he had not eaten all day.
He started with the chocolate waffle, cut a small piece and then held it up to Alix's mouth.
"Should i feed you?"
She shook her head. "You will slow me down. Prepare to see a side of me that you have never seen before. Hubby, close your eyes because elegance is going to be thrown out of the window."
She was familiar with his eating habits. He was going to chew slowly in small morsels. He would not open his mouth wide or extend his tongue to catch food at the side of his mouth.
He would not put too much food in his mouth or express delight and pleasure at the taste of his food even when he was enjoying it.
He would not talk with his mouthful or gobble his meal up like her. He ate like a well trained royal concubine.
Caishen on the other hand could not wait to watch her eat so carefreely. He liked it when she did not pretend to be who she wasn't.
"Go on, destroy it." he told her, with a smile.
